A great way to remember people and characters. Also what a great imagination these folk have. The nicknames are so obvious when explained - particularly like Kit-Kat.
A friend of mine had his right arm amputated and he rang us at a reunion saying "Hi Guys - It is the One-Arm Bandit here". This was three weeks after his operation.

Hannah's article "Pothole Pete" made me smile with recognition and memory of the times I stayed with my Aunt and Uncle in their pub "The Dog and Partridge" in Clitheroe, when I was a boy.
It was just like that, 60 years ago, and I have fond memories of those times as my home life was sometimes not so happy.
