Very bad

Hi all.
I want to explain to everyone my experience with this Ismash shop in charring cross.
I wanted to replace my battery of my phone so I booked an appointment. When I arrived there at 11:30,the guy checked my phone for about 3-4 mins ,touch screen, vibration, sound...everything was excellent and no other problems before the replacement of the battery process start.
He then said to come back at 4 pm. I was ok with that because on their site they say it takes between 2-4 hour for that. I Came back at 4 pm to take my phone...checked my phone all seemed ok, paid the 65 pounds fee and left the shop.
When I arrived home I was checking my phone and noticed that the back lid was not attached properly, like the glue was used was not dry enough to seal my phone. Started using my phone and after watching some things on social media, noticed some vibration from the case when turning volume louder. When I turned the volume of the phone to max my screen went dark. Next day I returned to the shop and explained to the guy what happened. He then said he will check my phone. After he checked my phone he said it's something wrong with my screen and it has nothing to do with the battery change that he has done and it is not his fault. He after offered a refund and put my old battery back. P.S. (Battery replacement to my old one took only 5 mins) After I agree to that he tells me he needs to charge me 20 punds because he worked and needs to be paid for that and I will receive only 45 pounds back. In the end he was showing me some phones he has in the shop for sale...
The question that I ask myself is...why did it take 4 hours to change a battery and took only 5 mins to put the old one back. and why I was charged 20 pounds to check my phone when they advertise on their site 1 year warranty for battery replacement.
I do not recommend this place. Maybe other Ismash locations work differently...but this one...try to avoid.

Google Pixel Battery Repair

Our Google Pixel mobile qualified for a free battery replacement under the manufacturers warranty. The nerest authorised repair centre was operate by EE. On the first visit, they wanted the phone for two weeks, citing they are very busy. On the 2nd visit, they requested a £40 non refundable payment due to a software glitch between themselves and Google. As we were due to visit Newcastle for a city break, we booked the repair with iSmash. we arrived at the allotted appointment time. We were greeted warmly, we handed over the phone in exchange for a receipt and 3 hours later had it returned, fully working with a new battery without any drama or hassle or cost to us. The member of staff we dealt with was professional and courteous. I have no hesitation in recommending their services at all. 100% happy.

Faulty Repair by ISmash Arndale

ISmash Arndale « repaired » my Iphone screen for £149. After a few days the phone stopped working.

When I returned to ISmash, the store manager « Dagmar » said that they could not look at the phone within the next few hours (I needed to catch a plane later the same day). He also accused me of water damage and claimed that I would invalidate the ISmash guarantee if I allowed an Apple Store technician to open the Iphone. The store manager argued very strongly that « he was the expert, not the Apple Store »..

Fortunately the Apple Store were able to open up the device within an hour. They reported that ISmash had trapped an internal cable in the casing of the Iphone. This caused the Iphone to break down. They also confirmed that there was no water damage and the faulty repair had caused the phone to stop working.

The trapped cable can be seen on the attached photos, taken by the Apple Store technician. He said there could be no doubt that the repair by ISmash was carried out with insufficient care. He also strongly advised me NOT to allow ISmash to reopen the Iphone.

After this, I returned again to the ISmash store and showed the manager the photos, only to be told that Apple Store technicians were not permitted to open my Iphone and no refund would be given.

I have since been in touch with the ISmash customer service department and the area manager, only to be told that I did not give ISmash the opportunity to open the device. This is simply not true since I repeatedly asked in the store for help and received none.

I live abroad and unfortunately have no way of getting the repair money back legally without substanital costs to myself. (I have followed this up with the Citizens Advice Buro in the UK). Therefore, I wish to warn other potential customers to avoid ISmash Arndale, I very much regret not going directly to the Apple Store on the floor above to get my Iphone repaired.

Upon my return to Switzerland (my home country) I got the Iphone repaired (along with a replacement screen). The Apple Store technicians in Switzerland confirmed that the ISmash repair had damaged the Iphone. Eventually, I ended up paying £149 to ISmash Arndale plus £350 to the Apple Store Switzerland for the IPhone repair. The Iphone is now working perfectly again with a new screen. It was a very expensive mistake.

Useless!

Paid £5 to secure an appointment at iSmash Shoreditch, arrived as instructed ten minutes before my 10am appointment time, no one there. Waited 20minutes, then gave up and went back to work. No one answers the phone, there is no customer service at all. How can anyone trust this company to take care of valuable iPads and phones?

Wasted trip – refused battery replacement for non-UK phone

I booked an appointment to replace the battery in my S22 Plus at the Bond Street branch. When I arrived, I was told that because I didn’t buy my phone in the UK, they couldn’t replace the battery.

If this is their policy, it should be made clear before you book – either by asking where the phone was purchased during the booking process, or by stating it clearly in the confirmation email. Instead, I travelled there only to be turned away on arrival.

It felt like a complete waste of my time and theirs, especially as they had already ordered the part. A bit of basic screening up front would have avoided the whole situation.
