Staff very nice! But the place didn’t have vending machine or bar for long journey and the WiFi was impossible. How someone from another please would receive the SMS? Just connect without SMS.

Wish i could give zero

Wish i could give zero! My train from Venice to Milan was cancelled I had to pay huge sums to travel by bus to Milan to catch my flight. Of course a lost money paid for activities in Milan also. Called customer service and was told I’d be automatically refunded in 30 days! 30 days no refund and was told I’m too late for a refund! DO NOT USE THEM! Is there no regulator monitoring this company?

Worst train experience ever

This train company is horrible, customer service is zero. Booked this train from Rome to Milan, it was delayed for 90mins. An associate called Matina was so rude, no compassion whatsoever, she threatened to call the police because I ask for her information so I can make a formal complaint about her service. Please do not use this company

DO NOT BUY TICKETS FROM THEIR WEBSITE

DO NOT BUY TICKETS FROM THEIR WEBSITE! I wish I could give 0 stars. I purchased a ticket for a morning train. After boarding, I was confused why I had no seat on the train. The train manager came over and told me my ticket was for the wrong train (even though I purchased the correct one) and charged me 53 euro to buy another ticket on board. I’m very angry and will not be using this service again.

Italian system prove of mediocrity

It is well known that Italian transportation system is bad and Italo is a great example of this. Every time I have taken a train during the day ( this doesn't apply for the very early morning trains or the ones in late evening) Italo has failed to be punctual causing me to loose lots of connecting trains. I am very disappointed.

Zero empathy

I'm traveling with my family - both my parents are over 60 and my mom has limited mobility - and our train got 85 minutes delayed on Firenze station - which has no seats.
I asked at Italo's desk if they could grant us access to the lounge and not only they refused as they were rude and asked 8 euros per person.
They not only did not recognize this as their fault as they tried to profit on someone's health.
This is outrageous, I would never recommend this company and I'll never use it again.

italo train 🤬

This company should not be in business. The worse trains experience in Europe. I have come to rely on the train system to get around Europe but ítalo is not the way to go. Do yourself a favor a book with another company. Tardiness is a pattern, hot in the train with no air circulation. The lounge area serves stale food and half the phone charging station don’t work. Rome to Florence should have taken 1:30min and ended up being 3:30min.

Absolutely useless service

Absolutely useless service. We waited 40 minutes for our train (we knew it was delayed, we received a notification about this) and kept checking the screen to ensure we were in the correct spot. After a long time of waiting the train disappeared from the screen, so we went to the service desk where they told us the platform was changed last minute and supposedly they had announced in 20 minutes before scheduled arrival (incorrect, they did not announce it. And if they did, it was not in English like all other announcements are). Absolute rubbish, we were there 20 minutes before scheduled arrival and the entire time we were there it said the original platform number.

We then went to the service desk where there was only 1 staff member who spent 20 minutes dealing with another customer issue whilst a big line built up. The lady just kept saying it was our fault and there was nothing she could do (even though others were in the same situation) and we had to pay 48 euro extra for the next train and were downgraded from first class to economy. We have also now missed the connecting train following and have to pay for another one. Useless company and management who lie about what happened.

Don't use their trains

Please make yourself a favour and don't take the trains from this company. They gave tickets to inexistent wagons. You pay so much money to not have a seat. They did not even care, nobody from the staff came here.
If you don't want to ruin your day, DO NOT TAKE THEIR TRAINS!

My daughter & I are traveling from…

My daughter & I are traveling from Naples to Bologna today. We are traveling on first class tickets! It is so hot you can’t breathe! They aren’t using the air conditioner, which we know exists because they turned it on for about 5 minutes and then shut it off again. They didn’t come on the speaker and announce it’s broken or apologize for the lack of A\C. They are insisting we all wear masks which makes it even hotter! Staff is rude! I won't travel with them again.

Unpleasant Experience

Italo requires the use of masks but does not provide passengers with the ability to purchase one on the train. 99% of Italy does not currently require the use of masks which makes it likely that passengers, especially those who do not travel every day / tourists, may forget. The “train manager” required us to ask other passengers for masks - which they did not have - and was extremely unpleasant and persistent on an 50% empty train. We saw other people also have the same issue. After we walked through 5 cars asking other passengers for masks and failing. The “train manager” magically found masks and proceeded to give us a lecture on traveling in another country and Covid procedures. Perhaps this was racially motivated because we have been on other Italo trains where passengers were given masks.

Another passenger stated that they had masks available on another train they rode and she proceeded to say that is because ItaliaRail is a publicly funded train. As a private business, we would have expected Italo to be more commercial, especially when purchasing their “business class” Prima tickets.

Appalling

Appalling.
I booked smart class. There were delays which were explained as 'traffic'. I'm patient and understanding so I would have overlooked that. Nevertheless. There isn't a restaurant or bar. There's only vending machines. Was thirsty and hungry. Went to look for restaurant or bar. Nothing. Was told by one of the crew peeps: check the vending machines. Went to the vending machines, they only accept coins. Euro coins. In 2022. There were two members of staff there. I asked if there was any way any refreshments would be circulated. Nah. They couldn't even speak English.

Not sure what definition of service Italo has but bologna to Rome with no water cause the vending machines are stuck in the 1960s is criminal.

I wish I can put zero stars! A huge delay without explanation! A 3 hour trip made in 6 hours and we are still running… well not running really because we stop every single meter!

Will never book this train again

Currently on the Italo train from Milan to Venice. It's an awful experience. We are so late due to technical difficulties and "rail traffic." The trip should have taken a bit more than 2hrs. It's been 2hrs and we aren't even out of Milan, yet they say little about progress. The chargers on the train don't have enough wattage to work. I just want off this slow, problematic train.

Rude staff

Rude staff , removed us off the train because we didn’t have masks they said it was mandatory however we got a train from Milan to peschira and didn’t get asked, they made us lose money for tickets, I’m a 16 year old girl and the man working on the train got in my face and was so rude. If masks are mandatory then sell them on the train !!!!!!!!!!!!

I wish l could give them 0 Star.

I wish l could give them 0 Star.
The service is terrible. They told us the train has 60 min delay and you can get off and when we left the vagon and we were still IN THE ARE OF TRAINS the train left with our most of the passengers and their belongings.
The main office gave us another ticket for next trip and they told us we will keep your baggage but tge new train had 3 hours delay again .When we arrived in Venice no one helped and we couldn't find our baggage which was very important for us because we had specific medicine.
I NEVER RECOMMEND THAT AT ALL.

VERY RUDE AND RACIST STAFF IN ITALOTRENO

Never go for Italotreno. Trenitalia is so much better than this. The Train Hostess GIOVANNA I. do not know how to treat customers, she was really rude and RACIST. Today while travelling through this train Train hostess Giovanna I. literally did not give us the beverage since we asked for a glass of water. Later she gave the beverage when asked twice. She commented that you cannot have more than 1 drink per person really rudely. Is water considered beverage per italotreno???? Per the hostess you cannot have 2 items (coffee and water). Also she gave away the cleaning wipes to all the white skinned customers and did not give us any. This is ridiculous that they consider water as a be beverage. Note that the size of the glasses only accommodate TWO sips of coffee and water. This happened on Train 8978 from Venice to Milan on 18Jul2022 at 11:57am.

To all my friends travelling from abroad please go for Trenitalia.

Worst experience of my life to use this…

Worst experience of my life to use this company train.
The route was roma termini direct to salerno on 12/7/2022. Train should depart at 3.30 and should arrive at salerno 5.39pm. Firstly was delayed to depart for 20 minutes. After separture the train stopped in Naples and announced that the rest of the trip is cancelled due to a technical problem. Train has never reached its final destination in Salerno. The company had cancelled the route. We were forced to get off the train without anyone giving any particular explanations or explain to us what to do. We then had to pay another ticket to go to salerno with another train of another company. We were waiting for 45 minutes for the next available train. The result was to spoil all our plans and our vacations as we had a ferry ticket prepaid to go from
Salerno to Amalfi and which ferry we did not manage to catch on time of course. Lost the ferry. We arrived very late in Salerno and we had to book a taxi and pay 120€ to arrive at amalfi. I am trying to contact the company for refund bug its so complicate. And the money paid were a lot. 95.80€ for 2 persons including omio commision. I will never trust this company again
