iTunes is garbage

I ditched iTunes a few years back and went with Prime music but came back to it again not long after with an offer. I’ve been on iTunes since until this week when I thought “£10.99 and I’m sure it doesn’t sound as good as it did”. So I downloaded Prime again which is £8.99 if you’re a member. I thought the sound quality was significantly better on Prime: there is a real sense of depth and the positioning of instruments and much more detail generally. iTunes in comparison sounds very artificial. My reference headphones are Sony WMH3Xs and some Sony Studio headphones. It was a night and day difference for me.

So many things are wrong with iTunes

So many things are wrong with iTunes. The first was a computer glitch that charged $17.98 to my debit card enough for over $900 in a matter of seconds--I'm assured by my bank rep, who checked the records, that this was a program error because it happened faster than any human could make orders.

Next, they refuse to take the added debit card I want to put on file, saying, "Must be verified". However, despite having my phone number and email, they do not send me a link to verify it. I actively despise Apple products, but have continued to use iTunes but I think I'm taking my business elsewhere.

ITUNES HAS SUCKED RECENTLY

I have been having constant problems with ITunes on my windows desktop. Basically every time I edit a Playlist it crashed and I have to restart it from taskmaster. Also sometimes when playing music on the internet it hits some snag and I can only play downloads until I restart. Customer service was no help and acted as if they had never heard of this problem even though many have experienced the same thing.

The iTunes application on a Windows PC is not user-friendly and has bugs…

The iTunes application for a Windows PC is very poorly designed ('clunky' is the IT technical term - very few things are intuitive) and has numerous bugs. For example:
I loaded one of my own CDs (not purchased from Apple/iTunes). It couldn't find the track titles, so I edited each track to add track title, etc. But when I copied the tracks to a 'Playlist', all this information was now missing.
I tried to sync from iTunes on my PC to an iPad. It took about 20 minutes while it said it was syncing with the device, but then it did not copy all the tracks in all the playlists to the iPad. After a few time-wasting attempts, including starting all over again, I took the advice from other iTunes reviews to install VideoLan (well-respected media playing / conversion software) on my iPad.
Amazingly, the iTunes application for the PC provides a very simple and reliable utility to copy iTunes playlist files to the VideoLan app on the iPad.
So I only use iTunes on the PC to load CDs, copy the files into a 'Playlist' and then use their own utility to load the files into Videolan on the iPad. Simple. Works every time.

No refunds for recommended solution

Not only can i not make the purchase I want, but adding itunes credit (which turned out to be a recommended solution) isn't refundable, and having 1p left over meant two purchases went into itunes credit, both apparently unable to be refunded. Support was pretty much useless, the live chat wanted a phone call, which I didn't want to do even without not knowing how long it would go on for. Waste of time really.

I really really hate iTunes

Once a year when I make holiday compilation albums which I want to download onto my iPhone from my PC, I have to use iTunes.

Every time it is a world of pain, clearly designed by a sadist. Words can't express how much I loathe and despise iTunes.

Just let us drag and drop files like you can onto a Windows device. It can't be that difficult.

They remove music tracks from your library

I discovered a music video, I'd purchased, missing from my Itunes library. When I enquired, to Itunes, on the missing track I was told that the content creater had removed the missing track from the platform and that I wasn't entitled to a refund. I was absolutely treated poorly by the customer service agents, one didn't even get back, and denied an alternative such as a free track or a refund. They have removed a music track from my library and didn't even have the decency to inform me that said track had been removed! Not even an apology. Absolutely disgusting attitude from Apple Itunes!

Can’t Hear Music I Downloaded

Since I have upgraded my iPhone to 11, the songs I paid for I can no longer listen to. I still have them, problem is the sound is so low I can barely hear them. Also those you pay for as a ringtone, you don’t hear much of when your iPhone rings - just some of the music at the start. I want the first verse in it or even the chorus. I found I could hear more of it on my iPhone 4 & 5s. Apple were good enough to refund me for ringtone I’d paid for the other week via iTunes.

Do NOT ever spend any money on games

Do NOT ever spend any money on games. If the game freezes up or has any issues whatsoever they will NOT refund your money. I highly warn you to not give them even one dollar. I spent a lot of money on a game the developer won’t get back to me and I tunes turned me down twice for refunding the money I spent. The game has a bug and I can’t advance so the money was spent for nothing but they didn’t seem to care.
