It's heavy and vented which is what I was looking for. But it was advertised as being made of "stainless steel". It doesn't look like that. If I had to guess, I think it's galvanized steel. Yes, this is technically "stainless", but only loosely. The problem with galvanized is that the zinc is not suitable for use with acidic foods. That probably won't come up in my intended uses, but it should be accurately described if, in fact, it's galvanized and not "stainless steel"

Hi Chef, Thank you for your purchase and feedback! Just to confirm and be as accurate as possible, I reached out to Chef press to confirm if your theory is indeed true. They state the new version aka V2 is made from USA-7 gauge stainless steel and sourced from Mid-American Stainless in Cleveland, OH. I hope this helps!

Nice size and design, can be used stacked. with other Chef Press units to make a heavier weight. Vented design means food under the press doesn't steam or cook unintentionally on the top surface.
