Trip to Rye

I have been here for a week and absolutely love this store .
The staff are so friendly and welcoming the shelves the products are displayed on are spotless .
I am here from London and experience the opposite unfortunately.
The care and kindness shown by staff here is sadly so rare these days .
I would highly recommend this as a beautiful store to shop and rest in .
Thank you for making my experience here so enjoyable .
Will miss you all ......
Just wish you were in London .
🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰

To be honest I use Rye and Battle…

To be honest I use Rye and Battle shops. I find most staff polite, however as for cleanliness off staff at both shops I find appalling, they need to discover washing machines and irons, it's not a great advert for jempsons in fact appalling. A lot also need to keep hair clean and tied back.

Stopped at petrol station 3.50pm 1st…

Stopped at petrol station 3.50pm 1st May 2025, purchased £40 of fuel. Got to the till and asked for filter tips. Lady put through the till and the price of £1.45p came up. I said that's incorrect the price label states £1. She replied yes the label is wrong. I responded can you remove the label please. She replied no we're not allowed.
So even though it was made clear that they were misleading customers they continued to do so. This is far from my first experience of this kind with Jempson's.

Service with a Smile

This review relates purely to the Post office Counter.
The level of customer service is always laughable. The staff all seem to wish they worked somewhere else.Totally unlike the majority of supermarket staff who are generally helpful and customer focussed.
Specifically my complaint concerns trying to change UK notes for £50 notes.
Last week I was accommodated but for some reason a rather shabby hand written note suddenly appeared today saying that this service is no longer available. All the more ludicrous as I followed someone depositing a large number of said notes.
All I was told by the rather miserable lady serving me was that this was a new policy.
Absolute joke.

I'm avoiding Jempsons of Rye

Went into Rye branch of Jempsons, never have I felt so unwelcome in a store. Was met at first by a male member of staff who looked as though he didn't want to get there, we asked where the post office part was and was given a very abrupt reply. The chap behind the counter at the post office wasn't a very good advert, as he looked very unkempt with an unironed shirt. I was there to try and help my very recently widowed mother with re registering her late husband's car. I have to be honest it looked and felt like a real effort and inconvenience for the staff to try and help to solve a problem for my obviously distraught mother. The experience was not pleasant and we will not be returning to this store. In fact my wife put any items that we were going to purchase back .In comparison to the great service and atmosphere of the Peasmarsh branch it was quite a shock.

Best supermarket cafe ever!

First time visit to supermarket in Peasmarsh -lots of different items on offer. Best bit of all - the cafe. We were quite late, but we chose the pumpkin soup with granary bread. OMG it was fabulous. We both loved it and would recommend to anyone. I make this soup all the time - it was never as good as this! Excellent chef! Very polite and friendly service too.
