Non Robotic Tech support - always so quick to assist

Jet backup's Support is incredible that I asked for a review link to write to them.

Most support centers you can easily tell that they are offshore by the lack of their responses / answers and the robotic nature. Everytime I've contacted Jetbackup their support has been incredible and non robotic, that I don't care to ask where they are located, because their performance doesn't even make me question this - so if they are offshore - it's never effected their ability to do their job and maybe they just have a higher standard of competency required to work with the company.

A company offshoring should not impact the support you receive but with alot of companies it ALWAYS does.

Anyway Jet backup - please don't loose your amazing staff that you have that can help in any situation.

Very kind customer service that was…

Very kind customer service that was willing to provide a requested refund outside their 7-day window.

I've requested a refund because I simply didn't need the product at this time. But I would for sure recommend using JetBackup!

Pathetic customer support | lack of technical expertise

Their support team lacks the expertise to solve complex technical problems.

Even basic problems are offloaded to L2 or L3 support team.

They don't even read log files and simply do basic stuff like restarting jetmongod and jetbackup, expecting that to solve the problem.

I have been stuck with the same problem since past 1 year and they are least bothered to fix the issue `Item Never Finished`.

Their support staff Clark P blamed me for reopening 5 months old ticket because the same issue persisted again.

Never expected this.

Will move all my servers to alternate backup softwares.

JetBackup: A Warning for Others

As an IT professional managing sensitive data for clients, I relied on JetBackup to ensure the integrity and recovery of my systems in case of disaster. Unfortunately, when the moment came to test its reliability during a real crisis, the software failed catastrophically, causing irreparable damage to my business and reputation.

Here’s what happened:

Restoration Failures: When disaster struck, JetBackup was completely unable to restore my data. Although backups were visible and the recovery keys were valid, every attempt to restore resulted in errors. After wasting critical time troubleshooting, I was forced to rely on outdated backups created three months earlier using DirectAdmin’s native backup system.
Data Loss During Recovery: Even after recovering the older backups, restoring the “full recovery” from JetBackup caused further problems. Existing configurations, including email forwarders critical to one of my key clients, were overwritten with blank data. The client had to recreate their entire email system from scratch, leading to significant operational downtime and dissatisfaction.
Loss of Business: One of my long-term clients, who had been with me for seven years, suffered heavily due to these failures. Their losses included missed business opportunities and added operational costs, prompting them to terminate our partnership. This was not just a technical failure—it was a direct financial loss for my business.
Inadequate Support and Accountability: I contacted JetBackup’s support team with detailed accounts of the failures. While they acknowledged issues within their software, they repeatedly cited their User Agreement, stating their liability is limited to the cost of the software license. My requests for meaningful compensation to cover the financial damage were dismissed. Their offer to schedule technical calls after the fact felt like too little, too late.
Eroded Trust: JetBackup’s inability to deliver on its core promise of reliable backups, coupled with their unwillingness to accept accountability, has left me unable to trust their software for critical operations. While I may use it as a secondary option, I can no longer rely on it as the backbone of my disaster recovery plan.
A Warning to Others

JetBackup markets itself as a robust solution for backup and disaster recovery, but my experience shows otherwise. When it mattered most, the software failed, and the company’s response was to deflect responsibility rather than make amends.

If you’re considering JetBackup, think carefully. Your business and reputation might be at risk if their software fails you during a critical moment. Invest in solutions you can trust, and don’t make the mistake I did by relying solely on JetBackup.

Replay to Jetbackp:
The company JetBackup seems to be delusional, claiming that the entire problem arose because we gave them server access for too short a period. Three days to restore dozens of hosting accounts in disaster recovery mode isn’t enough? How much time do you need?

They also claim to have refunded me for the entire license period, which is nonsense, as I only received a refund for the last month, despite having the license for several years. So, if you value your data and security, think carefully before paying for a service that is supposed to handle backups, but as the company itself admits, they can’t guarantee that. There are other, safer solutions on the market that won’t put your business at risk of shutting down.

Of course, not all the blame lies with JetBackup. My mistake was trusting this company and entrusting them with my backups, which turned out to be the biggest mistake.

Reply from Jetbackup

Hello Krystian,

Your feedback is greatly appreciated. Since October 8th, we have put forward our best efforts to assist you in performing a Disaster Recovery. However, limited access to your server (36 hours) affected our ability to fully resolve the issues. Nonetheless, we continued providing technical guidance as well as troubleshooting steps, which were met with a week of no responses followed by unproductive dialogue. We understand that there were technical issues involving DirectAdmin and JetBackup, and our team is dedicated to resolving any issues within our scope of support. With this in mind, we always try to include steps to progress towards a solution in each of our responses. As mentioned earlier, they were ignored and instead met with a demand for financial compensation. For a more clear and direct form of communication, we offered to schedule a voice call which was quickly dismissed in your subsequent responses. Our efforts to refocus on the technical issues were derailed by further demands for "five lifetime licenses" (exceeding the number of currently active licenses).

We take full responsibility for issues within our control and are actively working on solutions to prevent similar challenges in the future. However, some contributing factors were outside of our scope, including environment-specific configurations and third-party API behaviors.

Our focus remains on resolving issues and implementing changes that improves the reliability of JetBackup across multiple platforms and environments. We encourage open communication and invite anyone with similar concerns to reach out to our support team for assistance.

It is unfortunate that we were not able to meet your expectations, and we also recognize that our software may not be the right fit for you. We have proactively refunded your 3 licenses for the entire period that they were last active to ensure that you can explore other solutions that may better meet your expectations and needs.

We sincerely hope that this approach reflects our professionalism and commitment to a resolution, even if it means parting ways.

Best Regards,
The JetApps Team

Not to be trusted

Paid for a lifetime licence. Company rebranded and scammed all their LTD users, saying that they no longer will offer support or update their service for us. Tells you a lot about how they will treat customers.

When it works, it is fine.... BUT

When it works, it is fine. The problem is that they use "Digitalocean" as their service provider for license checks. Digitalocean is the crappiest company they could have picked as their complete IP range regularly gets blacklisted due to criminal activities with zero attempts to remediate.
The problem now is that if Jetbackups internal license check fails due to their scammer provider's IP being blocked, they simply stop their softwarte. No more backups, ZERO notifications!!.
In my case, I only saw it because I had to restore something, only to realize that the last backup was done middle of December.
PATHETIC. At least they should keep taking backups or send out a simple frigging notification.

JetBackup is way beyond anything we have tried

For 16 years we have had servers hosted at different hosters in the EU and we had different backup systems.

We are very happy about JetBackup that we have used for about 3 years. They offer fast and great support and their new JetBackup 5 has got new features.

We needed the S3 method of remotely backing up and it was supported by JetBackup 5. Combined with Wasabi as the remote storage at their EU location we can now do very fast backups and restores.

JetBackup 5 is still missing some features like a CPU limiter (which they are working on), but it is still way beyond anything that we have tried.
