Truffles was awful and not fresh
I ordered 50g Tuber Magnatum pico from Tartufi Jimmy, a company based in Italy, which was delivered to my home in London on 24 October. I had a dinner party on the 25th October and I'm afraid to say that the quality of the truffle was awful. I love white Alba truffles and have them whenever they are in season. The truffle I was sent tasted like it must have been many days old as there was no flavour coming from it. I am a repeat customer and have ordered from Tartufi Jimmy previously. The previous occasion when I ordered a Tuber Magnatum pico, it was fresh and full of flavour. I was very embarrassed to serve such poor quality truffle to my friends. I had contacted the company to let them know about my dissatisfaction and had asked that they rectify this bad experience by sending me a replacement of a better quality truffle that is fresh as advertised. However, I have been told that they will not do the honourable thing. I am hugely disappointed with such awful customer service. I would not recommend purchasing truffles from them.
Follow up from my complaint about Tartufi Jimmy. I was called by a female staff who works there, only after seeing my negative reviews. She told me that I was behaving badly (they really are clueless when it comes to customer service). She thought that they had been fair in offering me other products like olive oil which I had declined as it wasn't what I had ordered. I explained to her that you don't order a Ferrari and get a Toyota as a replacement. It is simply not fair. I also explained that I had given them ample time to do the right thing either to replace the bad product or refund me. Another woman from the company also called me and told me that she was the company's lawyer. She said that unless I took all the negative reviews down, they would report me to the police. I doubt very much that a real lawyer would make such a foolish threat. It is outrageous that a company would threaten their customers for writing negative reviews about them.
