JMI were brilliant from start to finish beginning with Caroline in the showroom who led us through the whole process and greatly contributed to our ideas to Paul, the installation manager who oversaw the whole project which was the complete removal and installation of TWO bathrooms to Rob who did the installation work. All of the trades people, plasterer, tiler, electrician, floor layers were punctual, efficient and extremely helpful. Rob, who actually fitted the bathroom was exceptionally helpful. All in all, a perfect installation of two bathrooms, on time and completed to a very high standard of workmanship. Can’t fault them.

I am writing this review about a bathroom refurbishment done by JMI in December 2022. If you do not want to read the whole thing just be aware that if you are not technically minded you may be disappointed, especially if having a toilet fitted.
Only now have I discovered that the toilet was so badly installed that it has been leaking waste under my vinyl flooring since then, eventually leaking onto my carpet on the landing. A very competent plumber confirmed my diagnosis that the very expensive toilet pan was not even fixed to the wall, manufacturers instructions weren’t followed, and the cistern fitting was abysmal.
Despite a visit to the showroom and numerous phone calls I received zero communication from the so-called remedial team. In theory I could have cited the Consumer Rights Act but in the interests of expediency I had to get my plumber to refit everything properly. With new parts, flooring and labour (not including hours of my own labour) JMI has cost me well over £500.
On the positive side most of the workforce were excellent but there were many problems along the way such as:
Wrong design advice. Parts not ordered. Wrong parts fitted. Shower screen fitted upside down. Damaged shower seal. Wrong size extractor fan fitted. Plastered wall not vertical, much to the annoyance of the excellent tiler. Had the toilet not been such an issue I might have forgiven these inadequacies.
Bottom line is be vigilant and you may end up with a decent bathroom. Otherwise and you wont.

Lovely bathroom but poorly fitted toilet left us without a usable loo in the house. JMI were told twice about this and did not help. Ended up needing to get emergency plumber out. JMI refused to offer any form of apology or compensation

All trades were excellent - turned up as scheduled, excellent quality and tidied away at the end of each day.

Really disappointed
At first we were really impressed with Lee and his enthusiasm towards our project
But over a period of time ..he changed and there was no contact or information
So much so we tried on three occasions to get a quote which in the end we said to leave as clearly our business wasn't needed

JMI Bathroom and Kitchen Centre carried out a full kitchen and dining room replacement (plastering, electrical/lighting, plumbing/gasfitting, flooring, tiling, cabinetry, countertops, appliances etc) including removal of an interior wall and replacement of the main fuse box. The consultation, planning and quotation process was straightforward, with clear and helpful advice and no sales pressure. The work itself, from stripping out the old kitchen to final adjustments, was well organised and there was effective communication about how and when each phase of the work would occur. The trades team were all professional, skilled, efficient, and clearly took pride in producing a high quality outcome. On completion of the work, the site was left tidy and clean. All work was carried out within a reasonable timescale, for the price quoted, and as planned. Renovations on this scale can be both problematic and stressful - this was neither, and so I would highly recommend JMI Bathroom and Kitchen Centre.

So far the experience of the fitting team was great: courteous, punctual, tidy - took away the rubbish. Thanks to Dan, Rob, Martin and the team!

Only one problem is that the fitted shower isn't the same as the CAD drawings - the gap to get in the shower is 10cm narrower than planned which means we have to burn ourselves on the radiator to squeeze past the glass partition and get in the shower! Lets hope that the after sales service is good to get it sorted?

Indeed the aftersales was pretty good - they sourced the correct glass panel and fitted it , no mess or hassles. Gone from average to excellent - how a company handles mistakes is the real measure.

I feel I must write to express my thanks and satisfaction for the kitchen you recently installed for us. Additionally please pass on our thanks and appreciation to all those involved in the work, who without exception were courteous, friendly and whose workmanship was of the highest standard and to whom nothing was too much trouble. We are as you can imagine extremely pleased with the finished kitchen installation. Graham Burchell
