For quite a few years now I have been specialising as a photographer for weddings in Derbyshire, Sheffield and some a lot further afield. It’s such a buzz and over 500 weddings later I’m even more enthusiastic about being a wedding photographer than ever. With commissions ranging from houses in the hills of Tuscany to landscapes in Maine and Vermont, from English stately homes to industry in Sheffield, I’ve been in photography and photographic processing all my working life. Even at school during the school holidays I worked in the processing lab. Having spent my entire career in photography and being the fourth generation of the family to do so, I definitely have photography running through my veins, as did my dad, and his dad and, yes, his dad before him. It all goes way back to 1870 with The Sheffield Photo Company. I started independently some years back, originally also doing commercial and travel photography, but very soon realised just how much I loved wedding photography and the people side of things. I’ve also spent time in the professional laboratory environment with film processing and colour and black & white hand printing. That’s why I’m as passionate about the processing side as I am about the photography itself. Image quality is of great importance to me.
