Quality issues with products and customer services
I have separately bought two jumpers direct from John Smedley - both of which, within 4 weeks of owning, have developed holes in the arm pit.
Whilst this level of quality is poor for a garment costing >£220, more frustrating are the dismissive responses of certain members of their customer services team when these issues are reported.
Really poor stuff. Not a premium product experience.
Spammy. Bait.
Often receive emails from them regarding "Price Drops" "Get your favourite styles for less in our latest price drop" "Further reductions"
However prices haven't changed for months, same items, same prices
It's bad form and wastes time.
Great clothes
Awful customer service
I used to be a loyal and very satisfied customer having bought 20+ jumpers over the years. In the last 12 months, I have bought a number of jumpers that I had to return in almost every case due to unadvertised changes in their sizing (now much looser) and random changes from one style to another (sleeves size differ by style, something i only discovered once I received the delivery). Customer service is incredibly unresponsive and patronising, to the point of rudeness, showing no flexibility in those cases, simply saying that this is my fault. That plus expensive postage and having to pay for returns mean that I have now had to pay £12 every time for delivery and return. They have lost a loyal customer and I strongly advise to be thoughtful before buying online.

Hard to justify at full price but very nice and have five items now.
This company quite deliberately retains…
This company quite deliberately retains your data. I wrote to them TWO years ago to remove my data under data protection, they said they had, but today they sent me marketing on my phone.
So clearly they lied quite deliberately. in these days of cyber security its entirely irresponsible and dishonest. Its also against the Law.
Hugely disappointed about the quality vs. the price
Hugely disappointed about the quality of your product.
Bought a shirt in November 2023. Already after little over a year the stitches began to come up and I paid for several repairs. When a larger amount of stitchings opened up in front of the shirt I took it to my reseller.
He responded that John Smedley would not cover anything, as the shirt were attacked by moth. I have not seen a single moth in my apartment and none of my other wool shirts (from other manufacturers) have been attacked by moth - ever.
Taking the high price into consideration, I cannot recommend John Smedley. In my experience, the shirt will only last about a year, before the stitches will become loose - and when you make a complaint, you are told it is your own fault.
My expectation was the shirt would last at least 2 years - especially taking the price into consideration.
Great product JS just rocks.
Great product, great service, never disappoints. I only wear JS.
I've tried other brands Percival and Wax London not even close stick with JS quality and style.
Steady customer but recent experience…
Steady customer but recent experience causes concern. Shipper, DHL, held purchase due to unpaid duties. Global-e unresponsive/unaccountably slow and John Smedley Customer Care ineffectual. These three entities do not seem to work together.
Great product, great service
Great product, great service, good value if one takes into account the quality. Made in England to high quality standards in every respect makes me keep coming back to Smedley and similar British brands. They need to be supported and it makes sense to do so for many reasons.
Great product, poor by delivery firm!
The purchase experience was fine - easy to navigate website etc. However the delivery firm seemed to have forgotten the need to knock at one's door before leaving . This caused some inconvenience.

Lost article
Because there was no invoice slip in the box, it was stopped by customs for about a week.
I was able to give you the amount I was going to use as a gift a few days late, but I felt so sad.
But I'm satisfied with the product.
They are a great company I have been a customer for years

Excellent quality
As always, superlative quality clothing. Not cheap, but worth every penny.
I didn't need to use customer services this time, but have in the past and found them very responsive.

Amazing quality and a great product a good range of knitwear to choose from for both men and women highly recommend.
