Disappointing
We contracted Joplings to sell our late mother’s property in 2023 and have been massively disappointed, not least in their disinstructing us following our complaints detailed below. Clearing and selling the property was always going to be a distressing situation but it was made more upsetting and stressful than it had ever needed to be by certain incidents of negligence: eg the property was left unlocked by them after one viewing and left with some considerable damage to wallpaper after another where someone had ripped strips off the wall. We also felt that Joplings had failed to represent the property to its true advantage in their website summary (which we were not offered for approval).
This did nothing to encourage any trust that we had in them as the experienced estate agents we had heard about. To be fair, the rest of their service was impeccable, the girls in the office were highly professional and always looked to help us without delay. The photographs were expertly taken / scanned and most services were provided in an efficient and timely manner. Sadly there were some occasions, the last most notably to do with the complaint about the wallpaper and online description, which were not dealt with promptly and which resulted in our complaint and their dismissal of our contract.
