Appalling customer service following refund request

Flights booked to Australia at the start of March which were cancelled by the airline (Qatar airlines) a few days before travel due to the Qatari airspace closure. A refund via JTA was applied for straight away. Was initially advised 2 weeks for refunds. Then after 2 weeks changed to 6-8 weeks due to amount of refunds. After 8 weeks contacted again to chase the refund. Was then replied to in a snotty email by someone called Lisa saying “we’ve sent your refund to Intele travel so you need to chase with them now.” Now waiting up to another 14 days for a refund from Intele head office. I think JTA’s communication and then the snotty reply back is absolutely disgusting given this is about £3000 worth of money we’re talking here. Also not happy with Intele travel either for not contacting to let us know they’d received the refund. I won’t book via a 3rd party again - will book direct with the airline as most airlines have refunded within a few days or a week or so - not 8 weeks! I know exactly what you’ve done JTA - you’ve let the money from me and probably thousands of other customers in a similar situation whose money you’ve had back weeks ago sit in your accounts collecting interest - wouldn’t put this sort of behaviour past them. Also, sort out your jumped up staff as well who frankly are just plain rude!

Save your money - book elsewhere

Terrible experience, I would advise avoiding booking a holiday with this operator at all costs.

My partner and I booked a luxury holiday to Lanzarote last year, to leave one day after we'd both ran the London marathon. Upon arrival at the airport, no-one was waiting for us to transfer us to our hotel. We quickly found out that this was because the hotel we booked was closed and had been closed for 16 days before our arrival - but no-one told us. It was JTA travel's responsibility to ensure our accomodation that we paid for was available, but they didn't bother.

We then had a long wait at the airport, shattered and aching from the marathon the previous day, not sure about if we could get a flight back home or if JTA could find us another hotel of equal standing, star rating, room quality and food options. (As my partner is a vegetarian).
JTA found us a lesser hotel, which we begrudingly accepted as we could not get a flight home for the next 36 hours.

We returned from this break 9 months ago, and to date we are still waiting for adequate compensation and payment of such.

JTA have not accepted responsibility for their actions, even though their Terms of Business say they should.

If you are looking for a trusted holiday operator that will look after you and ensure you have a great holiday, then please look elsewhere.

If you are looking for a holiday operator that will take your money and not care about what they a contracted to deliver for it - JTA is the operator for you
