What a very bad reflection on Buxton
What a very bad reflection on Buxton. Why would anyone return for any other event. Families being completely ripped off by this company. Free to some who happened to be there a fortnight ago with animations and sounds all switched on. Then now, at a cost of £40 - £50 for a family of 4, broken down dinosaurs, teeth missing and eyes pulled out, with very ugly barriers now erected to, forlornly, protect them.
This project has been an absolute shambles.
Maybe the Town Council and High Peak Borough Council should apologise for letting our town down so badly. They should also attempt to get refunds from this shambolic company for the ripped off families.
Good idea, but very, very, poorly executed.
Waste of money
Booked in advance to get 20% discount. In the days before the event started, most of the town were climbing on the dinosaurs to get great pictures. When we attended the dinosaurs were cordoned off, so after paying we couldn’t get any decent pictures. Most of the dinosaurs were missing teeth, sensors weren’t working and generally just poor. I paid £60 for the family to go, when I should’ve just nipped down in the days before it was set up to see them for free.
Not worth the money
Went to the experience in the Buxton. Not worth the money!
Pay for the train (£2 each) instead and you will see most of it anyway, and as others have said old tired displays.
Luckily the kids were not too disappointed.
Just wanted to post to let others know it isn't worth it.
Missing teeth and old dinosaurs
If I could give zero I would. Missing teeth. Holes in the dinosaurs. My daughter and I unbeknown to the other as we'd booked separately.bith complained to them wanting our money back. They ignored both of us. 10 years ago this was probably a great experience bit its very tired now. I just wish I'd read these reviews before booking
It was extremely disappointing
It was extremely disappointing. Most of the dinosaur's teeth were missing, some had broken neck or leg. It didn't worth the price at all
Absolute rip off - very disappointing
My son was so excited to come here as he is dinosaurs mad. From the pictures and website and cost, I was expecting a lot more. What a rip off! Not far off 50 quid for a family of 3 for 40 minutes of disappointment. Dinosaurs that have seen better days, some didn't even work, battered displays and poorly maintained area. The entry staff where too busy gossiping and swearing in front of children to even make eye contact when scanning our tickets. The food stalls were underwhelming to say the least and the toy stalls were ridiculously expensive.
All out shocking experience and will not be recommending or going to another event.
Don't waste your time and money...
I'm writing this as I walk inside this terrible event. The display is worn out and the sounds are ridiculous. The area is gated by a fence so anyone from outside can just see what we paid to see for free. Even with a Groupon deal I feel ripped off. This is a scam show and should be banned from operating.
People working there are very unhelpful…
People working there are very unhelpful and rude. We purchased a ticket for our 4 year old son to use the VR machine for £5. We then wait and waited. Three times my son attempted to get on the ride and three times the lady running the machines pushed him back without any communication or explanation as to why he could not get on. Very poor customer service and treatment of a 4 year old child, who was left crying! We walked away
Do not buy tickets from this company!!
Do not buy tickets from this company! The experience that we had was terrible. We went to the London (Watford) event and were disappointed. The dinosaurs on their website do not represent what we saw on the day.
Most disappointing of all was that we paid for a family of 3 only to find out that passers by in the park had perfectly good views of the dinosaurs. They even had a few of the dinosaurs on display outside of the enclosure. If you are thinking of going I would recommend going to the park first and having a look around before paying
I have emailed the company twice and have had no response back. They and the sponsors should be embarrassed for hosting this sham of an event
Outsources its refund process to scammers
Jurassic Encounter outsources its refund process to a SCAM company whose entire business model is based on DECEIVING CUSTOMERS into thinking they're buying the right to a refund should they have to cancel a booking, then WITHHOLDING REFUNDS on the basis of small print.
Tickets in themselves are non-refundable and are expensive enough to make it seem worth taking out the additional 'refund protection' offered at point of sale. However while the refund protection APPEARS to protect buyers should they have to cancel, in actual fact the cancellation procedure is outsourced to another company, See Tickets, which WEAPONISES THE SMALL PRINT to make it almost impossible to claim a refund.
