The piece is fun and sounds good. Middle school directors: this piece is a bit more difficult than I thought it would be when I selected it. The polyphonic section is easy enough, but the varied ending in m. 8 vs m. 12 will take some practice. The starting pitches for the sections at m. 15 and 35 are the same, but students struggle to find that pitch and what to do with it after they find it. The little transition at m. 23-24 is difficult and the ending m. 65 - end is really difficult also. Make sure the students love the piece, because they're going to have to put in some work.
