For the most part, teachers are wonderful. Many are like second parents but when a student is unfortunate to come across a teacher who is emotionally detached, doesn't appear to have patience to ensure students understand, engage in behaviors that make certain students uncomfortable by bullying. My granddaughters teacher Ms. Akilah Braxton has targeted my granddaughter due to an incident that should have been handled professional not as a vindictive child. She barred her from her class, doesn't know how to talk professional to her and seem to hold a grudge against a child instead of being a role model, an educator who knows how to set boundaries and respect every child in her classroom. No child can learn properly when they are bullied and made uncomfortable by their teacher. My granddaughter is so stressed out about this teacher and cried uncontrollably because of this teacher's unprofessional and vengeful behavior toward her. Some teachers do not have the emotional intelligence to deal with children. Part of teaching is to exercise patience and be willing to answer questions that students may have instead of getting agitated or blowing the student off. This review is not a reflection of all teachers at Friendship because there are some wonderful teachers but Ms. Akilah Braxton is not one of them. She needs to learn how to interact with students and their parents.

What Makes K12 Great in my opinion is
Flexibility: Students can learn in a way that suits their unique needs and schedules.
🍃Teacher Support: Regular live sessions and easy access to help from educators.
🍃Family Involvement: Parents can be more engaged in their child’s education.
🍃Consistency: It offers a stable alternative for families who move often or need alternatives to traditional classrooms.
The only suggestion for Improvement,
One area where the program could improve is technology access and quality. While the school provides devices, many families, myself included, have found them to be underpowered for daily virtual learning needs. After researching and personally testing alternatives, I purchased a MacBook Air, which has significantly improved my child’s learning experience due to its speed, reliability, and compatibility with homeschooling tools.
A Helpful Recommendation:
It would be beneficial if K12 provided more flexibility and support when it comes to technology choices. Specifically:
Give families the option to receive a school-provided device or purchase their own.
If families choose to purchase their own, consider offering partial financial reimbursement or a stipend, with a receipt submission process to ensure the purchase was for an educational device.
This would empower families to choose what works best for their student while maintaining program standards and accountability.
This approach would not only reduce tech-related frustration but also encourage more engagement and efficiency in learning.

The curriculum is brain overload , and does not provide adequate instruction. This curriculum also gives to many quizzes and test without the student being able to gain tangible knowledge. The teachers are horrible, they also do not provide gainful knowledge of the curriculum. They throw the curriculum up at the beginning of the year and leave the students to fend for themselves. This has not been a great learning experience for my scholar.

Friendship and K12 gave us an alternative when we needed one the most. My daughter is immuno-comprimised and we needed to limit her exposure with known germs and pathogens that come along with childhood schooling. The staffs were so accommodating and understanding. I have and will continue to recommend to everyone with school-age children.
