Highly suggest you dont go to this…

Highly suggest you dont go to this restaurant. The management, Kylee Lologo, is extremely inexperienced and amateur. The prices are higher than nobu but the quality and service is more like a shopping mall sushi dive. This same company owns the chicken sandwich company, Jay Birds, its obviously not a high end cuisine corporation. WildThyme restaurant group is the company if you so desire to research their bad reviews.

Let me start by saying ive lived in huntington beach 35 years. My wife and i were excited to try a new Japanese restaurant at pacific city. She was so excited, she booked a reservation as soon as soft opening was available. A few first impressions. 1) they did not bring soy sauce or soy sauce dish, we had to ask for it 2) we wanted to order large sparkling water and they said they only had them warm since they were not put in the refrigerator. 3) the server was a nice younger gentleman, hb local, who did his best to make it a pleasant experience, but the food came way too fast and they kept interrupting asking if we needed anything else.
After spending $250 on a few rolls and cocktails, we moved over to the bar area so we could stop being interrupted by the server.while seated at the bar, the beer selection was non-existent. Asahi, Sapporo and some green tea ipa. So my wife and i had a couple sapporos and asked if the lights could be dimmed. It was basically like having a beer in operating room, bright white lights shining upon us. The crowd at the bar was definitely not local. I think they were probably invited to eat at a discount or maybe eat for free by staff of the restaurant during soft opening. Not long after sitting at the bar, a waitress named Candice abruptly approached my wife and i and rudely said "no arguing at the bar allowed" . While this could have been done discreetly, she chose to be loud and disrespectful. That being said, we were not arguing, we are just intense, passionate people and sometimes we talk a little loud. But isnt that what people do at a bar?? Well my wife was very offended and told the lady to mind her own business and asked to let us finish our conversation and $500 night out. Next thing, the biggest chef from the back, Jay Bogsinske, came out to the bar and told us we had to leave. So Thats what we did. We came back later to complain to management, but management, Kylee Lologo, appeared to be barely 25 years old and obviously has not learned customer relation skills. We were escorted out the entrance by mall cops and shoved by one of the bar patrons who obviously was from riverside or something. Must have been the rude waitress, Candice, boyfriend.
Well, after stopping by the bungalow for one more beer, we went home and had to pay $40 in parking. Even though our server had told us our meal receipt could get us free parking. Not the type of experience you would hope for, for $500 bucks. I would much rather have driven to nobu malibu where you are guaranteed a world renowned, quality meal amongst quality people. Dont waste your time visiting this trash restaurant. They wont be there a year from now anyway. Guaranteed out of business like the rest of em at pacific city.
