Almost ruined Christmas
On December 14th I went to finish my Christmas shopping. I went in to Kay's looking for my daughters 2nd piece of real jewelry as she is 20 and found the perfect ring with Kimmy and the store manager. They ring wasn't available in white gold so she said she was going to order it and it would be here on the 19th and then it wasn't available once she put all my info but she found them at another store, and they would be here by the 19th still. The 19th comes and nothing, so I called the store. The girl that answered said hello? I had to ask if it was Kay's she said yes but had no idea about my order and I was told to call back the next day. I asked for a manager, and she got on the phone and promised one was one of the rings was on the way. The next day Kimmy calls me and says they can refund me as the ring would not be there before Christmas. No regards about putting me over a week behind. Not try to find me something else that might work. She would even look at me once I went in for my refund. So beyond unprofessional. I understand things happen, but this was unacceptable. Thank God for Ben at Helzberg. Walked out with 2 rings for a much better price and better quality
It took them seven days to figure out they didn’t have what I ordered…
I would recommend not purchasing from Kay’s jeweler specifically if you are attempting to do so online. On the 17th of December, we made a ring purchase for $2450. On the 24th of December, Kay’s sent me an email canceling my order essentially saying that they didn’t know it wasn’t in inventory… it took this company SEVEN DAYS to figure out that they did not have something… meanwhile, had they canceled the order in an appropriate timeframe (i.e. not seven days), I could’ve gone into my local Kay’s and purchased the same ring at 30% off…. Now, that same ring is back at full price ($3200 before lifetime waranty charge for an additional $400, plus tax which would bring the whole piece to approximately $3750) with no discount at my local Kay’s, and Kay’s customer service is refusing to work with me on comparable pricing and are basically saying it’s my tough luck that they either double sold the ring, lost it or they juat plain don’t know what’s in their inventory (basically sorry not sorry…). I’ve talked with three different customer service reps; only one of them even acted like they cared (and she was lovely - her name was Miss Kathy Hershey).
So whoever creates Kay’s marketing strategy, I would highly recommend firing them because sending anybody an email on Christmas Eve telling them that Kay’s is canceling an order for a ring that a customer wanted for a long time and that was a very good deal, is asinine.
Horrific customer service and a very large “we don’t give a damn” company motto. My husband and I have spent tens of thousands of dollars with this company over the years, and we will never buy another thing from them. Buyers beware. Go with another company.
broke the first time at my daughter's wedding!
I bought this all the way back in August for my daughter's wedding this past Sunday, December 15, 2024.
The first time I received it the clasp was broken and I brought it back for repair. I picked it up and tried it on once before last Sunday. The lock clasp broke off in my daughters hand when she went to put it on me. It kept falling off during the wedding ( AAAARGH!)and I am lucky to have it to bring it in for repair. This is extremely poorly made jewelry.

Came in on my break wanting to see some things for a possible Christmas gift for my husband. LaGail was very professional, I received a pleasant greeting, and she explained the financing options.
Pinnochio jewlers
Nothing but pathetic that Kay jewlers will have staff that send ready to pick up ring for sizing and not telling me that before I found out that work was never done . Then not getting money for a refund; unless you get a coroarate check. If you like to be lied to . Don’t shop here .

Kay review
Kay review
I purchased a ring that my significant other wanted . It was pre owned and I understand that if I check out after someone else I don't get the item . Which is the reason I got for getting a refund the first time . Then a couple weeks later same ring in the same size came back up which I was notified for and paid for as soon as I could and was refunded the following day , then 4-5 days later again , I get an email and check out again and im refunded 2 hours later , I call and they give me the excuse that it's sold before me . But it's a very spasific piece that's pre owned so there isn't many if not just the one. But when you call they will not help , they give generic responses and refuse to look into it , I asked for them to please look into it and take my money and send me the piece. They continue to give responses like it's not in stock or I can't find it in the system ... besides this one piece which she loves I would not step a foot into a kay anymore even in the shops or online . Shop somewhere else ....they can't even look into why you're not able to receive an exact item that was purchased 3 times in the same exact configuration and size .
. I would not shop here I'm sure any other jeweler would love to have your business and will work with you .
On hold with them for an hour + now with no one willing to help as I write this review .
Bought 5-6 pieces from them in the last couple months and I regret using them .
Treatment of active duty military
About a year ago, my son bought an engagement ring from Kay. It came with a promotional rate. He is a sergeant in the Marine Corps. Recently, he was sent to California for training for three months where he trained outside without access to electronic devices. When he returned to Camp Lejeune, he received notice his promotional period had expired and he was charged over 30% interest ($400). He called and explained the circumstances to no avail. A disgrace how they treat people. Would give zero stars if I could.

Maria and the whole staff at Altoona PA Kay’s are truly amazing. From cleaning jewelry, to helping me make a selection to being full of information, I am so pleased to work with the whole team. Thank you!
Kay Jewelers disappointments
My wife and I helped our nephew buy a diamond and mounting at Kay Jewelers in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. The lady that helped us, Marilyn said she had 35 years of experience. She told us the diamond would arrive on the 18th as it would come into the store on the 17th and that we could look at it on the 18th. On the 18th we called but said it wouldn’t be ready till the next Friday, which was nine days later. We went in there with time frames explained because nephew is visiting here and they’re not gonna be here long. We called to complain about the delay that she had promised and the next thing, she said she suddenly got it like two days later! Additionally he ordered the ring with a white gold band and paid for both. He clearly ordered a white gold band and it was correctly marked on the receipt as WG 14 K. He picked it up and when we looked it had a very thin yellow gold band, not white. We’re very disappointed in Kay Jewelers and specifically Marilyn who said she’s been doing this for so long but yet couldn’t seem to get anything right. The ring is now back with them again and hopefully we’ll get the right band and diamond soon. It’s promised this Thursday.
Does not honor $600 warranty. Calls customers liars.
I purchased 2 rings at the location in Queen Creek AZ and when I went in to get the rhodium finish on the ring and check the prongs, the manager could not find the warranty on file in her system. She told me that I did not purchase it and started to give me attitude about it and treated a customer how no customer wants to be treated. Jen is awful. Her reviews on Yelp are all 1 star or less, except for the one that she put in there herself.
Policy is to hurt customers credit!
Upgraded my wife's wedding ring as a anniversary gift. Beautiful no problems. Qualified for the credit I wanted no problems. Minimum payments would be $46 a month no problem. The problem comes when instead of paying $46 on the due date, if you pay $1,000 2 weeks before the due date you're going to get a late fee for not making the $46 payment on the due date?! Craziness. Then you call customer service and they do not care and will do nothing for you because it's their policy to do nothing for you! So even though you are way ahead you now pay a $30 late fee and you figure I'll set up auto payments that way I can pay ahead and they can take the minimum payment on the due date and I never have to worry about being charged a late fee again or hurting my credit again. But then they have a disclaimer when you sign up for auto payments that the auto payments might not kick in for one to two payment cycles which is 1 to 2 months! Of course you don't see this disclaimer and you think they are going to now take $46 on your due date. They don't! No you have to pay attention on the morning of your due date to see if they take your money when you told them to for 2 months to make sure your auto payments come out and if not you have to call that day and pay manually. Then you hope next month that they're going to take it out on time. Oh yeah and you get another late fee that is more expensive than the first one! Your policy should not be hurt people's credit and charge late fees to people who are ahead of schedule or at least be understanding and have a way to waive charges that are unfair and unnecessary! This company is untrustworthy and it's written within its own policies! Be careful purchasing from them!
This company needs to seriously… DO BETTER!
This company needs to seriously consider the repair shop they outsource too. Obvious faults in jewelry repair are being sent back to customers. They don't care about your jewelry after you buy it.
Took my watch in for repair
Took my watch in for repair. I had to prepay for the repairs, which was fine. Told I would have it back in one month. Called Kay to get status and was told “repair shop takes forever to complete work”. Was told they had no idea when the repairs would be done and would not give me an ETA.
Asked to send it back to me, so I can take it to a reputable jeweler for repairs. The lady I spoke with at the store could care less and offered no resolution or advice.
Poor, poor service. Will never go back to Kay if any of their family of stores.
These scum bags
These scum bags. Paid account in full, closed the account, a month later they said I owed a late fee. How can the account be closed if there was a balance? Fraudulent thieves......I disputed, before it was done, owed more in late fees on a paid in full closed account than was actually on the balance......then the dirt bags scarred my credit score.....AVOID them

I have purchased 2 rings from Kay and paid the insurance plan, 3 times one ring has had to be sent off and taken over a month to come back, once it was sized and is now black where they welded it. The other was sent off to be sized and came back still to big and with in a week broken where they welded it. We live an hour from the closest store and have spent hundreds of dollars there and they have offered no compensation for their own mistakes. I would recommend no one purchase from there and use a store that cares about it’s customers.

Kay Jewelers in Grove City OH…
I went to Kay Jewelers in Grove City OH at the end of June to get my size 8 ring resized to a 7 1/2 and a stone replaced. A few weeks went by and my ring was back. After paying my $400 they let me try on my ring and I told them it still felt the same. She turned around and checked it without me seeing her sizing it and said it was close to a 7 1/2. So her and the manager said maybe you should go with a 7 1/4 at no additional charge. It was sent out again and when it came back it fit perfectly. I asked the manager who was helping me what size it was now and she stated a 7 1/2. I informed her that when I looked at my paperwork from the two times it was sent out I found out they had made a mistake the first time and wrote down to resize it to an 8 inwhich that was what it was already. Instead of admitting it they acted like they sent it back out to resize to a 7 1/4 even though paperwork stated that it was going to he a 7 1/2. How dare they charge me the first time for a resizing that never happened. The lady said but we didn’t charge you the second time. They wasted my time coming in for a ring the first time when it wasn’t resized. I will be doing business elsewhere.
Beware of pricing problems
Went in to see if I could get my pure silver ring round. It had become slightly deformed from being knocked on the table. A little flat on the bottom. I was told it would be $148.00.would need to be sent to repair to be resized and cleaned. Would take a week. Got it done at a pawn shop for 5.00. a ridiculous price for a minor service. BTW when I bought earrings there (Chalmette location) last year the same service was free. Seems like a scam to me
I order wedding bands for me and my…
I order wedding bands for me and my future husband and was assured within a month and a half that it will be ready for my wedding. The person I was dealing with said my rings with be ready for the 16 of July, almost 6 weeks later, one week later after the 16th of July it was still not even deliverable or ready and when I call they told me it will be ready the next week 6 later and when the 6 days were up and I call they said they were waiting on ups delivery and said it will be at their store that day and will call me never heard from them and here I am at 10 pm at night getting married the following day without rings. I don’t understand the games if when i order to just say Kay’s jewelry that we cannot get it ready for you on time then I could have went to elsewhere but they didn’t, they gave me false hope me now I’m without rings for my wedding. Very disappointing and this is at the wire grass mall location in Tampa Florida.
