Paid for repair, problem never fixed
I visited CarPeople (KH Biler Risskov) in October with a small issue on my Opel Corsa 1.2 (2008) — the speedometer had stopped working.
After 4 days, I got my car back and was charged 1500 kr. Unfortunately, the speedometer only worked for 2 days and then stopped again. I called them and was told to come back. When I returned and asked what had actually been repaired, I was told that nothing had been fixed — they only ran computer diagnostics and disconnected the battery to reset the system. This “solution” again worked for only 2 days (which I later realized I could do myself).
When I came back again, I was told the whole instrument cluster needed replacement for an additional 3500 kr — on top of the 1500 kr I had already paid. The main issue was not the price, but the fact that the original problem had never been properly fixed.
I asked them to check whether the unit could be repaired or replaced reasonably since I had already paid 1500 kr, but I was told they would call me back. They never did. I never received any follow-up, update, or solution.
After waiting and contacting both the workshop and CarPeople headquarters (who said they forwarded my complaint), I still received no response.
In the end, I researched the issue myself. This is actually a common problem on this model — a burned contact in the cluster. After watching several guides, I fixed it myself, and it has been working perfectly since. I am not a mechanic.
I feel disappointed and honestly feel that I wasted 1500 kr for no real repair or solution. I chose this workshop because it was close and convenient, but unfortunately, the experience was not good.
