While we don't verify specific claims because reviewers' opinions are their own, we may label reviews as "Verified" when we can confirm a business interaction took place. Read more

Unprofessional

My computer wouldn't turn on. I took it to KingIT in Caloundra and told them it wouldn't turn on. The technician tried pushing the power button and told me it wouldn't turn on. This reassured me that I was dealing with an expert.

He tried using a different power adapter. It still wouldn't turn on. After that detailed, exhaustive and highly technical examination, he told me that it couldn't be repaired. The man was obviously a highly trained professional with an almost supernatural ability to diagnose faults.

I then asked if the data on the hard disk could be transferred to an external hard drive that I supplied. This was obviously and extremely difficult question and he asked me to come back in 30 minutes so he could do some research. When I came back he said it would cost $599. I left.

Later I phoned another company asking for a price for the data transfer. Without seeing the machine, he told me it would be between $90 and $150.
