Was really looking forward to to Christmas dinner yesterday at the pub. We took advantage of the offer of £188.99 a head.
However , I need to review our visit.
Must say , between us we had three different starters , all were excellent especially the prawn and smoked salmon cocktail.
Again three different desserts, all three were lovely.
Quite a different story for the main event. Four of us had turkey and two had braised beef with vegetables.
I can only say that the vegetables carrots , sprouts and cabbage were almost raw , not aldente ,raw hardly able to cut them . The roast potatoes were a bitter disappointment. I don’t know how many times they had been reheated but reheated they were and not nice at all , they to were hard . I did mention it to the waitress but didn’t make a fuss. Maybe we were just unlucky on the day. Next visit , no time soon . On a positive note note , the pub was beautifully decorated decorated.

Excellent place for lunch, nice pub, traditional, friendly service staff, decent food, very welcoming. No worries if you want to chat a little after the meal, no none will hassle you to leave. Service is quick but not hurried, food well cooked and presented, portions are large. Good place to stop for a break.
