Unprofessional service

Unprofessional service, I was spoken to in a very rude manner, they say they text you with a time slot and ring 30 minutes before delivery I didn’t get a text or a call. I missed the delivery.
I was asked to pay 35.00 pound or they would not redeliver. Avoid.
After having a long stressful conversation on the phone my order was delivered without cost 3 days later.

2 weeks in a row I’ve been phoned the day before delivery to be informed the worktops will be a minimum of a week late. Costing me a total of £1200 for tradesman who can’t even do the job, not a thing offered in terms of reimbursement. Customer service does not exist within this company

Disarray and Dissatisfaction

Yes, the worktops were eventually installed, though there were significant delays. The previous team was quite competent and managed things well. However, since the new director, who is of Arab/Syrian origin, took over, the situation has deteriorated, He never fulfilled for what he has committed. The new management has caused a lot of problems, including persistent factory issues and ongoing worker difficulties. The level of organisation has plummeted, leading to widespread disarray and dissatisfaction.

What a disappointment

What a disappointment. My brother had a great experience with their worktop installation a few years ago, but since the new Syrian team took over, the quality and workmanship have gone downhill. They've hired cheap labour, and even the office staff seem to have messed up all their records. I trusted them and paid a deposit, but it took two months of chasing before my worktops were finally installed last week—only after I threatened legal action. This new team needs to seriously improve or consider closing the business, rather than making false promises. I will never recommend them again.

AVOID AVOID AVOID at all Costs. At minimum, do extensive due diligence on them!

This is a long and detailed review about Kitchen Worktop Company Ltd (“KWC”). I’ve posted this review on every one of their website pages I could find (which have different names).

I hope you find this review useful and it helps you avoid losing money to what can best be described as an elaborate scam, or at best a dishonest and VERY POORLY run company.

AVOID, AVOID, AVOID this company at ALL COSTS!!!! They took my deposit money and have not given it back, despite not completing my installation. They’ve stopped responding to my emails and don’t pick up my phone calls. Here is the summary:

1. I paid them £3.6k, never received a refund and they DID NOT install my kitchen worktops because THEY could not meet my timeline. I had to use someone else in the end

2. Their quote to me was about £1.5-2k cheaper than all other quotes I received. When I asked why, I was told that they had direct access to the manufacturer of the porcelain worktops, which turned out to be a lie (I found this out much later)

3. The manufacturer of the worktops I wanted have an exclusive arrangement with a UK supplier. KWC told me they had a direct contact at the manufacturer (“Sergio”) so they could cut out the middle man and buy the slabs cheaper. The exclusive supplier has told me that “Sergio” does not exist

4. When it became clear that KWC could not install my worktops within my required timeline, I asked them to either refund me, or allow me to arrange to collect the stone slabs. Within 24 hours, they told me they had “returned” the slabs to “Sergio”. Conveniently, for whatever reason, Sergio refused to return the money for the purchased slabs. My personal belief is they never purchased the slabs in the first place, and used my money for something else (maybe trying to fix the machine they said was broken) – note that I cannot prove this, but this would make sense

5. I never ever saw the slabs they supposedly bought and returned. My belief is they never did buy the slabs, given how quickly they “returned” them

6. Apparently KWC had a problem with their machine and could no longer install my worktops on time. My belief is that they were not transparent or honest about the timing or nature of machine issues they had. I believe they knew well in advance of the timing to install my worktops, and they hoped to fix the problem in advance of my installation

7. They misrepresented that they had a strong relationship with this exclusive UK supplier of the stone slabs I wanted. They in fact have a terrible relationship with them – something else I found out once it was too late

8. The person they sent to template the worktops, upon arrival to my property to measure up – had no idea which worktops I wanted to have installed, and where I wanted them installed. He also seemed to think he would only have to stay for 10-20mins. He also could not provide a recommended worktop thickness that would be adequate for my kitchen. I don’t think KWC have the knowledge and skill to install high end porcelain worktops, especially once I compare to the company who completed the work in the end

9. The majority of the pictures and videos on their website that they might say represent work that they have or can complete, are rendered pictures and are NOT REAL. Have a look for yourself and ask them whether the pictures / videos are real or rendered. I would also ask them for their IN-PROGRESS pictures / videos of their actual work

10. I had posted a similar review before, after which they offered to refund me if I removed the review. I removed the review but they never refunded me

11. As at January 2024, KWC, and UK Kitchen & Interiors (the same company), have outstanding Court Judgements against them (£2.4k (Aug2020) for KWC and £6.9k (Dec2022) for UK Kitchen and Interiors). I considered taking KWC to small claims court but I doubt they will even abide by the judgement based on this info

12. They appear to have quite a number of websites (maybe to disassociate themselves with some potentially bad reviews from older/other websites). I also don’t believe ANY of the testimonials on their websites are genuine. All the evidence points to it being untrue. These are the websites I found appearing to be the same company: (a) worktopcompany.com (b) ukkitchenandinteriors.co.uk (c) kitchenworktopcompany.co.uk (d) unistonekitchenworktops.co.uk (inactive) (e) harrowkitchenworktops.co.uk (f) quartzworktopuk.co.uk (g) dektonkitchenworktops.co.uk

13. Lastly, having a quick look at UK Kitchen & Interiors Limited last company accounts filed, there’s no P&L statement (are they even making money? who knows…) and their balance sheet shows a minus £100k equity balance! In simple terms, they have no assets and owe a lot of money to third parties. This company should NOT be in business and I’m unsure as to how they are allowed to be!

Deposited Money, Received Nothing But Empty Promises

I placed an order for new kitchen countertops with Kitchen Worktop Company months ago and paid a significant deposit upfront. Since then, it's been a frustrating nightmare.
• Unreliable Communication: They've been impossible to reach. Calls go unanswered, emails are ignored.
• Missed Deadlines: The installation date has come and gone (five times) with no explanation or rescheduled date offered.
• No Work Completed: Needless to say, the countertops have not been installed, and my project is at a stalled until I got a decent company to do the work.
Buyer Beware

Very dissapointed

We put a deposit down for a kitchworktop but they were unable to deliver it in the required timeframe due to technical/software difficulties they were experiencing at their factory. They have promised a refund multiple times but it never materialises. They never answer their phone and I receive the odd sporadic email thanking me for my patience and then another period of silence. Very disappointed by the lack of communication and more importantly the money they owe us which they have not returned.

I wrote a review earlier this year as I made a deposit on a worktop that never materialised. I have also not been refunded some 12 months since the deposits. I retracting the review because a part refund came through. In my dealings with this company:
Showed up to measure but got it wrong
Did not return calls until I withheld my number
A man answered and faked who he was (!?)
Different females emailed me but I could never speak to them (it was the man above (?!)
Promises made over and over and chances given but not delivered
I’m now left with £1500 owing to me and despite being begged to accept a payment plan after one late payment the owner is now in India for the second agreed payment d (I have generously given 18 months (as at mar 2023) to repay me.
Avoid. Also associated with UK Kitchen and Interiors Ltd - this is who invoiced me. Partners of the same surname but different people listed at companies house. See my other review on previous trust pilot account they had for other known associations. Just don’t trust.

Changed the agreed price and threatened me with court action

Agreed a price for the job.
Once they had completed the job (late) they then sent me an additional bill for about another 15% for some implementation work. We had a dispute about this as in all of my correspondence with them they knew that I required this work to be done however they never stated that there would be an additional charge for it. Their way to resolve this was to threaten me with court action. This became very stressful for my family who then persuaded to take the path of least resistance and pay the money to get this company out of our lives.

I cannot recommend them to anyone. The work was late, they caused a lot of mess (I had to provide compensation to my neighbours) and if I could start again with a different company I would.
