They prolong your subscription without your approval or notifying you about it being prolonged. The way you are notified is when they subtract money from your bank account. Their customer support doesn't even read your conversation and gives you a copy paste response and a different reason for the money they request every time. I don't get why any company cooperates with them when their reviews are so bad.

You can report them to ACM or AFM. They are already investigating them.

They had not contacted me in over a year, and i have not been a student or even registered to the Netherlands in over a year. And a couple days ago they charged me 60€ without any reason or previous information. There was no number to call, and after a couple email exchanges they stopped answering me with absolutely no answer. I canceled my subscription and then they had the audacity to charge me another 5€ for a late cancelation after charging me over 60€ even though a yearly subscription is only 30€. This is a great thing for students, so i do not understand why they are taking that much money and then ignore you when you email them. Really inappropriate.

They trick people into paying at least another year. The first year is free then you forget to cancel it if you don't use it. However, I received 0 emails that my subscription will be renewed. So quietly your subscription runs for at least another year till it's charged at the end of the year.

Stupid practice, please take really good caution if you are about to sign up

I have had a subscription with Knaek since I started studying in 2015 and tried to cancel it several times using the link on their website, which simply didn't work. I then contacted their customer service via email over a year ago, requesting to cancel my subscription and never received a response. I have since been charged several times. This month I was even charged twice the annual subscription fee (60 Euro). I am furious about how poorly this is organized and hope that I will receive my money back.

Same as the others. I have not had access to Knaek for over two years and suddenly they’re hounding me for payments. Strange because I haven’t renewed my student registration with them nor have received any updates u til now. When I try to log in, it says my user doesn’t exist. Don’t bother because it’s not worth it.

A few years ago I installed Knaek as a free app. I’ve never used it at all, but they charged me €26,77 anyways. I paid this amount and thought I was done with it. Apparently I didn’t cancel it at the time and got a reminder the new payment date was coming up in August and I should cancel now if I didn’t want to pay for another year, so I cancelled. Apparently now I need to pay another €31,23 in order to cancel.

DO NOT DOWNLOAD THIS APP, they WILL scam you.

lovely experience, but sometimes the app doesn´t work on the first try or closes itself (maybe that´s the problem of my phone). I use it almost daily for my shopping and can´t be happier. It would be nice if it could work without the mobile data.

Great discounts all over the city and very helpful for students who are on a budget. Definitely recommending this app.

Scammers! This company needs to be shut down

It is a scam. I had a one-year student course that ended before August 2023, and I uploaded the relevant documents at that time. Legally, you granted me an account for one year. However, I have not been a student since then, nor have I sent you any documents to confirm my continued student status. On what grounds did you renew my account? My understanding is that Knaak operates like a scammer, as renewing an account without a valid student ID is against the rules.

Absolut scam for students. Try not to opt in at all costs. They charge 27€ per month and it’s absolutely impossible to unsubscribe. Even when you unsubscribe they still reach out to you every month and try to get money from you

I signed up two years ago when I began studying in the Netherlands. On the website they did not have anything written about a membership fee. I hardly used the app over the two years that I lived in the Netherlands, but after I graduated and left the country, they directly debited 50 euros from my bank account, saying it was the membership fee for the past 2 years. I tried to reach them via phone to cancel my membership but no one picks up. They also never reply to their emails. They keep sending me emails to pay this membership fee that I never knew about. It's a complete scam, never sign up for it.

i wanted to cancel my subscription to knaek, however due to some technical issues i was not able to do so online. The company cannot be reached by phone (really annoying). so I send them a email. The email response was very slow and it took them 5 new emails to finaly send me a link to my account down. the whole contact took about a month and they even made me pay the fee for this month, eventhough it is there fault that my membership was not cancelled.

Scamming company. Cancelled my subsciption on the first day of the year and was debited for the year, then asked to pay another 26 euros. I contacted the support team a total of 6 times over the last month and recieved no support just someone saying to pay and that the 26 euros were a part fee for cancelling my membership on the 1st instead of the 31st of july. I recieved requests to pay every other day with harassing text messages and emails while i was trying to sort it out with custoner service, who answers once in a blue moon. I ended up paying to stop constantly recieving texts. Stay away.

This is nothing but a terrible scam. Do not register because if you think you can cancel once you graduate, you are so wrong!. Better pay full for your food otherwise you'll end up paying 30 per year for that 5 euro cashback for many years.
Their system does not work properly. It is impossible to cancel. They don't tell you you're still subscribed until the following year you notice that they're stealing money from your account for a service made impossible to use for you. And the email responses to even a formal complaint is in a tone that feels like I am dealing with a bunch of kids arguing like "hey why didn't you do this then?". Just fix your system and accept the complaints! Take your customer a bit seriously. But of course they won't because it IS A SCAM!

Gave out vouchers that were very usefull when i had friends over for dinner and we could order food with the vouchers
