Don't leave them carry out any work in your house.
KNGroup I moved over from Vodaphone to Eir and on the 18th of May KNGroup technician installed the Eir broadband and phone line. This technician did not know what he was doing and spent about 2 hours in the house constantly calling his boss for instruction. He left the job open on the system, managed to instruct Eir to change my phone number. I now have no land line, and a different number with Eir. My phone line has not been working since the installation. Can you help?
It will not affect KN group profits if they are courteous
I ordered a broadband service on 12th December from Vodafone, Ireland on the understanding I would have it in operation before Christmas.
On 17th December I received a text from Vodafone saying that a technician would call to the house between 9.00 and 5.00. I waited in all day but no one turned up from their installing contractor KN Group and I received no explanation. I was left without broadband by KN Group over Christmas not that I sure it bothered anyone in the KN Group.
After much ringing to Vodafone, going round in frustrating circles, going through security questions on endless occasions, and waiting for ages before someone would answer, a new installation date was offered on 2nd January but I would have to wait in from 9.00 to 5.00 as they would not be more time specific.
At 1.00 on 2nd January a technician from KN Group who barely spoke English rocked up, first used the toilet and then made some adjustment to the telephone box in the hall. I plugged in the modem but it failed to show an internet connection. The self-important, arrogant technician with not an ounce of goodwill or respect for me a customer of Vodafone said that the lack of service was not his problem; he said he was only a subcontractor and I would have to contact Vodafone about the issue as he was leaving immediately. Shocked as his brazen, treating me like dirt attitude, I asked for his name and when I went to get a pen to write it down he started shouting repeatedly at me, ‘Do you want my name - I’m leaving’.
So there you have it a technician sent on behalf of Vodafone to provide me with a service, telling me as he hurried out the front door that the lack of service in the house had nothing to do with him and I would have to contact Vodafone.
Vodafone and KN Group are as bad as each other. There is no proper communication between them and they conveniently use this fact to hide their incompetence, by then being able to attribute blame to each other for poor service.
The rotten manner of ‘do as little as possible as quick as possible’ shown towards me, an Irish citizen requesting broadband, by a KN Group employee is I fear part of the wider corporate ethos of the KN Group.
