Koblevo - Ukrainian Cognac: cheap but good? Not really.
Second cognac from Ukraine that I have tried. The first one was Shabo which was not bad especially for its price. From Koblevo I tried the 5 years version which is supposed to be better than the basic 3 years variant. Unfortunately it turned out to be not quite good at all. What strikes you first is the unnatural, cheap sweetness besides that the taste is pretty sharp and rough for the alleged 5 years of riping. In the end I got rewarded with a quite annoying hangover the day after although the amount consumed was not much than 3-4 shots, And I was for sure not drinking it on empty stomach and cared for enough water to prevent dehydration. So it is quite a disappointment. Shabo was definitely better, even in the cheapest category.
