Koblevo - Ukrainian Cognac: cheap but good? Not really.

Second cognac from Ukraine that I have tried. The first one was Shabo which was not bad especially for its price. From Koblevo I tried the 5 years version which is supposed to be better than the basic 3 years variant. Unfortunately it turned out to be not quite good at all. What strikes you first is the unnatural, cheap sweetness besides that the taste is pretty sharp and rough for the alleged 5 years of riping. In the end I got rewarded with a quite annoying hangover the day after although the amount consumed was not much than 3-4 shots, And I was for sure not drinking it on empty stomach and cared for enough water to prevent dehydration. So it is quite a disappointment. Shabo was definitely better, even in the cheapest category.

The wine is not of very good quality...

The wine is not of very good quality but the place/location is interesting enough, what makes me rate it very poorly is the fact that I booked a wine tasting through my ukrainian guide on the telephone(not possible online)but when we turned up we were told that the tour had been cancelled without notice. I came from kiev its a 15 hours trainride plus hotel costs and they didnt bother to tell us that they cancelled the tasting. We called the manager againg and she told us that they all had gone to the see due to the nice weather and had changed the to 10.00 in the morning. What!
,! without telling the people who were surposed to participate. Extremely poor service
