I have no negative comments regarding the hardware itself — the eReader is solid and works well. However, I do have serious concerns about the software ecosystem. Unfortunately, both the mobile app and the web app feel low quality and unfinished. A simple example: if you set your phone language to English and try to search for French books, the experience becomes inconsistent and frustrating. As an experienced user — and someone who develops applications professionally — I notice many small bugs, missing features, and inconsistent behaviors. For instance: The price filter appears and disappears unpredictably. There seem to be two different search pages, each behaving differently and providing inconsistent user experiences. These issues occurred repeatedly during my first 3–4 days of use, while I was looking for enough books to cover the coming weeks. Because of this, I honestly regret my purchase — not because of the device itself, but because the app experience feels raw and incomplete. A company selling eBooks worldwide should not be shipping software in this state. I genuinely want to support Canadian companies and see them compete successfully with Amazon, but my honest opinion is that you cannot effectively sell books if the applications used to buy and manage them are not finished. The hardware and software come together as one experience, and currently the software significantly undermines an otherwise good product.

It works and it's the perfect size for carrying in your day bag. But unfortunately the smaller sized Kobos don't have Google Drive or Dropbox integration. I wish there was an easy way to import my existing e books outside of the Kobo store. Kindle has Send to Kindle that makes it very seamless.
