The Rakuten Kobo Libra Colour was my birthday gift, and wow—I am completely obsessed. I absolutely loved my Kobo Clara and genuinely didn't think I could love another eReader more than that, but the Libra Colour has somehow exceeded all my expectations! One of my favourite Kobo features has always been OverDrive. Being able to borrow ebooks and audiobooks directly from my favourite libraries and access them whenever and wherever I want is such a game changer and one of the reasons I love Kobo so much. What really sets the Libra Colour apart for me are all the extra features. The Google Drive and Dropbox integration makes accessing my sideloaded ebooks incredibly easy, and the biggest upgrade has to be pen support. I love being able to highlight, annotate and jot down notes while reading. I'm also thrilled with the StoryGraph sync feature—such a fantastic addition for anyone who loves tracking their reading. And yes, I even bought the page-turning remote! It's perfect for those cold winter nights when you're wrapped up in a burrito blanket and refuse to stick a hand out from under the covers. I take this Kobo everywhere with me. The colour screen is beautiful, the reading experience is amazing, and honestly, I can't fault it. This has very quickly become one of my favourite possessions. It's my new reading BFF, and I already know we'll be spending many happy reading years together. If you're a fellow bookworm, this isn't just an eReader—it's pure reading joy.

Looks pretty, seems like it will serve me well, arrived with one button already failing. Hoping that it'll be better with the replacement.
Fantastic device. It has good bluetooth capability. All the settings are easy to understand and modify. The screen is easy to read and easy on the eyes. Very happy with this purchase.
I love the interface of the device, and read almost 6 books within the first week of having it. It is super lightweight and I love being able to carry it around and still having a lot to read even though the device is small.
I'm a new KLC owner after my previous e-reader (Paperwhite) was bricked by another company. So I'm new to everything Kobo! I have enjoyed my KLC for about a month now. The buttons and the extra side space on the device are much more ergonomic and help me have a smooth, comfortable reading experience. The setup was easy; figuring out where all the settings I use are is intuitive; connecting to my library's Libby (OverDrive) has been smooth, as has buying e-books. I enjoy seeing my covers in color and having them be my screensaver - what a thrill! I love the awesome daily deals (current books at deep discounts) and the fact that the makers of Kobo e-readers seem to take customers' input seriously to improve their products and deliver a great reading experience. I never got an email from my previous e-reader company informing readers that they were working to incorporate customer input and had exciting new stuff in store, which I recently received from Rakuten/Kobo. Loving my KLC and hoping to be a lifelong customer.
It’s just perfect!
After some more research I decided to update my review. While I still have many issues with the store section on the kobo itself and now their website, it is for the most part functional. I wish they would do a better job of letting you know when a book you want is unavailable rather than showing 40 pages of completely unrelated books and magazines. Along with that some of their language filter options can be completely ignored. I read in multiple languages and after an hour of searching their website and arguing with the AI helper I have found that they dont actually carry any books or Manga in japanese, even though they have that as an option. I understand that this is due to my region but it frustrating. Its already hard to find books in languages other than English and this just made it all overly complicated. I do not expect this company to be exactly like Amazon or Google, and I appreciate that they aren't. It is just mildly upsetting that they show things as being a potential option when its not. Simply having a screen that tells you "the title you are looking for is unavailable, would you like to see similar titles", or an ability to filter out porn magazines at all would be nice.
Bought this hoping to be able to write notes when studying a book. The notes functionality is disappointing as you are either limited to margins or between line where there is not enough room, or to desperate pages, not linked to the book that means a whole load of menu navigation between reading and note taking. Noted can be triggered from highlighting text BUT these can only be typed which defeats the object for me. As an eReader it is great, but you could buy an eReader for much less. I am hoping kobo can do a software release to fix this.
Love it!!!!
For the price, you get alot of features you would have to pay a small fortune to have on a Kindle. I have found that I really like the buttons as the are a convenient place to hold the Kobo while reading. I also really appreciate how easy it is to adjust the brightness without having to open a whole menu. By far my favorite feature has to be the easy integration with Libby and being able to upload books I already own.
I love this Kobo. It's a great reader, it's in colour, and it does some neat extra stuff. I take it with me everywhere. The fact that it's repairable (unlike other popular ones), and uses as many sustainable materials as possible (unlike all of the other ones, to my knowledge) is icing on the cake.
Such a perfect e-reader. You can tell the design was very thoughtful because it’s absolutely perfect in your hand no matter how you want to hold it. I’m still fiddling with all the settings and discovering all it can do but this is a 10/10 easy.
I recently purchased a Kobo Libra in an effort to move away from my previous e-reader brand, and the device itself has been excellent. It's responsive, the backlight is excellent, and the interface is intuitive. On hardware alone, I'd give it five stars. Unfortunately, one of the features that convinced me to buy it hasn't lived up to expectations. I was excited about the built-in OverDrive integration because I expected to be able to borrow library books directly on the device. However, it no longer supports signing in with multiple library cards, which makes the feature essentially unusable for me since I regularly use more than one library system. Instead, I have to sideload library books through Adobe Digital Editions, which feels outdated and unnecessarily cumbersome. If Kobo restored support for multiple library cards in OverDrive, this would easily be a five-star purchase.
I chose the Kobo Libra Colour because I thought the muted colors would be nice, and they are. This is my first real eReader since the first Kindles came out and I’m not disappointed. Ease of use, comfortable to hold, and lots of places to write. Highly recommend.
I've really enjoyed using the reader. I downloaded a book from Archive.org that was written about 150 years ago and I could be holding the book in my hands.
Pricier than the Kindle paperwhite it replaced but much better reading experience because of physical buttons and user interface. Didn’t really need colour but no way to buy a B&W screen with the page turn buttons, so had to pay the extra cost. However will be able save money by being able to borrow library books, so overall very happy with my purchase.
A better user experience than kindle
I love my Kobo. It’s my first ereader and I’m so happy I went with the Libra! The screen is big but not too big and I really like the buttons to turn the page or browse the library. Runs well and the battery life is amazing.
Screen size is great, not heavy, like that it adjusts screen to room light level.
Good. Just what I wanted.
