Poor Customer Experience

I am writing to share my experience with an installer I used in 2021 for the installation of solar panels and a battery at my home.

Initially, I was quite satisfied with their service. They were very responsive and offered what seemed to be the best hardware for the price. Additionally, I found their technical staff to be helpful and easy to communicate with.

However, the actual installation process presented several significant issues:

* The hardware installed was different from what was initially agreed upon. Furthermore, the quality of the technical expertise during the installation was questionable, a point that has been corroborated by Solis (and I can provide email correspondence as evidence).
* The solar panels were installed completely flat, without any tilt.
* The original inverter frequently failed when operating at full power. As a temporary solution, a secondary inverter was installed.
* We experienced frequent circuit breaker trips, occurring multiple times daily.
* Eventually, the inverter was replaced, and the system's power was limited. This effectively reduces the benefit of the number of solar panels installed, a measure taken to resolve a technical problem they appeared unable to fix properly.
* Discussions with experts at Solis, the inverter manufacturer, indicated that a faulty installation likely caused these ongoing issues.
* The company neglected to adhere to the City Hall's installation requirements, specifically regarding permits and regulations. This oversight led to considerable complications, including multiple discussions with City Hall officials and the need to consult with lawyers, incurring additional expenses.
* We ultimately received a fine from the City Hall due to the non-compliant installation.
* The removal of the incorrectly installed panels had to be arranged and paid for by us, as La Grotta Solar became unresponsive and unavailable.
* La Grotta Solar has since ceased to respond to emails and has not addressed these outstanding issues.

As a result of these problems and the lack of resolution, I am now left with approximately 25,000 euros worth of hardware that is either not installed or cannot be effectively used due to the installer's apparent lack of competence.

Based on my experience, I would strongly advise caution and recommend considering alternative installers to avoid potentially costly and frustrating issues. While others might have a positive experience, my own was far from satisfactory.
