Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Evaluating 117 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Customers frequently express significant disappointment with product quality, noting furniture often feels cheaply made with issues like particle board construction, cracking frames, and cushions that quickly sag or shed fabric. Many also report problems with mechanisms failing, screws falling out, and materials like vinyl peeling or being misrepresented as leather, leading to the perception of overpriced and overrated items. However, some customers noted positive interactions with staff, finding them compassionate, friendly, and knowledgeable, and a few were satisfied with their product's comfort and appearance. Conversely, a small portion of people felt dissatisfied with the service, citing difficulties with repairs, misleading information, and unexpected labor charges for warranty claims.

We bought a 2500.00 Astor power rocking…

We bought a 2500.00 Astor power rocking recliner from La-Z-Boy 2 weeks ago and now the back is already broken down to where you feel the boards sticking in your back. When you sit in it you feel like you are sitting in a hole. The service tech came out and said that is how it’s supposed to be. Really?! Never buying from them again!

Had a lazy boy sofa for 10 years and had no problems. Decided to replace it with the same one. After about 4 months the seams started to unravel.OK still under warranty let's get it handled. RIGHT! 6 month later after 2 tech visits, each with a 3 hour window and a zoom consultation they sent us new cushions. 2 weeks later tech shows up with a hand in a brace and needs me to help him move and disassemble the sofa to put the cushions on. I understand sometimes you get a faulty piece of furniture but it's how it's handled. Lazy Boy missed the mark and I would not recommend

Bad quality and workmanship

We owned a green leather couch and loveseat lazy boy for over 30 years, I replaced it 3 years ago with a Gray/Brown Talledega set, it is very difficult to push down the recliner part, we sit crooked in the seats both of us leaning into the armrest, there is NO support for my back I have a very hard time getting out of the recliner position then can't push down to get out! the spot where my husbands rests his head the color of the leather is worn off, we go to Florida in the winter so we only use this 7 months a year, so a total 21 months ' this set is so bad I don't think I could give it away, what a bunch of crap!

We purchased two Lazy Boy power…

We purchased two Lazy Boy power recliners. They are now 4years old. The one chair is broken and when in recline will tip over backwards. Both chairs squeak loudly when moving. The squeak is typical of other Lazy Boy recliners we have owned in the past. I would never buy another Lazy Boy recliner or any other Lazy Boy product.

Only La-Z-boy delivers a substandard Recliner and RECLINER and refuses to issue a refund

Why Can't I get a refund when LaZboy didn't produce a recliner like the recliner in the showroom.
I received:
lopsided seat
Chair is higher on one side
No padding on the end of the right arm
Puckered and miss matched seams everywhere

They are telling me I can have a 20% restocking and reselect a new chair. Yet my receipt say : Refunds will occur in the tender paid!

They have offered to replace an arm and seat. They say all the puckering and mis matched seam are within industry standard. They can't guarantee dye lots.

I just want a refund so I can purchase from a company with integrity

Need HELP getting a full refund

we bought a leather la-z-boy 3 seater…

we bought a leather la-z-boy 3 seater sofa and a single chair from SCS in Newport South Wales in May 2023 and it was ok for about 6 weeks then the side of the sofa that I sit on started to crease badly and is now badly creased I contacted SCS just before the warranty ran out and they organised a company that they use to inspect it. When he came out he said the springs were OK but the foam had sunk. He said this a very common problem but SCS or La-z-boy willnot accept that it is a manufacturing problem, which after contacting is exactly what they said. I have contacted the Furniture and Hone Improvement Ombudsman about the problem along with photographs, but I am waiting for a response. Knowing the way Government Agencies work I do not hold out any hope. Whatever you do do NOT buy anything from SCS and never buy a La-Z-Boy suite.

Their furniture is garbage so is their service! The ridiculously expensive warranties they promote without notifying you that they have every single clause possible to deny you any coverage. 16 months with a 6000$ sectional that is falling apart - this product is not well made and threads are puling off. Fabric leather is thin and cheap. DO NOT RECOMMEND THEIR PRODUCTS, i bought 2 and both are needing replacement after 16 months.

Lazy Boy Northpoint, GA terrible experience

We have been to the Northpoint GA location trying to get their top-of-the-line electric recliner repaired, it probably has worked for 2 weeks in the past year of owning it. Customer service and the extended warranty is a joke, I am going to continue to post our experience with this brand until it reaches the individual that owns this region.

Do not purchase from Lazy Boy

Do not purchase from Lazy Boy. The is sub par. We spent $8000 on two chairs and there were so many problems. One chair had a massive scratch on the arm. We were told about this the day before we received it. The base of the other chair was broken during shipment. The chairs arrived one month after the promised date. Safety clips keep falling out under the chair. It took 6 months for the issues to be fixed. The customer service is horrible and these guys are a total rip off. The quality is not what it used to be. They are not truthful in their communication and keep referencing the small print. Shop elsewhere and save yourself the headache

Poor quality made by 'Lazy Boys' because it doesn't last!

La-Z-Boy products themselves do not hold up as well as they did in prior decades. We bought 2 couches and a recliner less than 2.5 years ago. The recliner has failed in multiple ways (cushion on the arm has compacted and is hard, iClean fabric is worthless... it stains just from the dust in the air and on your clothing then secondary company won't service it, the backing fell off, it came sewn crooked, etc.). Then today we found a tear at the seam under the cushions on the sofa. Every time we call in a claim La-Z-Boy says the parts or material that failed is an exception to the warranty. Today was not different as the 'cover' is an exception (even though fabric was covered for 3 years depending on where it is on the furniture). Go figure! I have a 30 year old recliner that was my mother's and currently puts these to shame. We do not abuse our furniture and we do not eat on them. They should be able to withstand the evening sitting!

Bought two leather recliners

Bought two leather recliners
Both were made wrong with sharp brackets pointing out into the cushions.
One arm broke because it wasn’t installed properly. They use cheap osb to build the frames.
I bought a cheap Chinese recliner that lasted 15 years. I didn’t even get a year out of these two without a lot of problems. I’m never buying lazy boy again.

When you buy you get items by number

When you buy you get items by number, don’t trust the invoice you get. Make sure the invoice gives a better description. Ordered a sofa, recliner and love seat. Received all with wrong love seat. Went back to store and salesperson denied ordering wrong item. Store trusted salesperson and denied our claim to replace love seat with love seat version we had ordered. Once you have paid, you are just a number and service is nowhere to be found.

Leather furniture

We bought leather reclining love seats in the autumn of 2019 and purchased the Gold protection plan thinking that our expensive furniture was covered for 7 years from the delivery date. I just discovered a tear on the side of the seat cushion but that is not covered according to the warranty provider ServeCo. Clearly La-Z-Boy does not use quality material in areas you cannot see. The damage is just due to flexing of the material when you sit on the seat. I would not recommend this company to anyone. It's not worth the cost.

False return policy

I drove over 45 miles one way to purchase a set of Lazy Boy rocker/recliners as we do not have a store in our town. I had purchased a set from the same store 14 yrs ago and was pleased. This year was very different! I ordered a set off the floor but was told that I couldn't have those but would have to wait until a new set arrived, this was on 3-10-24. I received a call on Apr 12th stating that they were in but I couldn't pick them up until 7 days. We were picking them up! Anyway once we got the chairs home, They didn't go with my house decor. Their return policy on the internet says you have 30 days to return, but when I called to return and order another set, I was told it was past the 3 day period. I called customer service and they said 3 days was correct regardless of what the internet stated! Very poor service, I will never purchase a Lazy Boy product. I should have read the reviews before I made my purchase.

Research customer service reviews before considering!

We bought a $5k sofa, after 1.5 years there are ugly discolored spots. Service said oh they are sweat stains and not covered by the 5 yr warranty. I have to disagree that they are sweat stains but all they would do is look at pictures from my phone and say no. To get to no, it took over a week and left 2 unreturned voicemails. Had we realized how poor their service was or how little their warranties are worth, we would have gone elsewhere.

NEVER again will I buy or recommend La Z Boy!!!!

I bought La Z Boy furniture 25 years ago and loved it. That was the only reason I returned to La Z Boy 1 1/2 years ago. NEVER again! It is the worst furniture. Made very cheaply. I have had to have Comfort Care here at least 6 times for repairs. I feel I could have gone to Big Lots and gotten much better furniture then this. I hope they feel good about taking people's hard-earned money and delivering very low-quality products!

I'm hoping this is a temporary 1 🌟…

I'm hoping this is a temporary 1 🌟 review depending on the ultimate outcome. Purchased a la-z boy dual recliner electric sofa and 1 manual recliner in November of 2023 Joys in Lakeside AZ. The sofa was delivered with a defect that we noticed later in the day after delivery. We called Joys to see when they could come out to look at it and because it's at our secondary location and we're leaving for the winter, we had to put off til April 2024 for them to come out. Long story short, the rep took a picture of the broken mechanism and advised Joys would follow up which they did several days later and advised they would need to come back to retrieve the sofa to bring back to warehouse to repair without leaving us with at least another single recliner for the days that it took to fix and bring back to us. We're very disappointed that this is the only recourse thus causing inconvenience. We feel it should have been replaced and Joys disagrees. I guess if you purchase furniture at Joys, you might want to know the answers to the "What Ifs" in the event the items you bought were delivered damaged. I guess nearly $3000 in purchases is not that important to them as far as your satisfaction goes. If all goes well despite the inconvenience, I'll consider changing this review to more stars? Lastly, La Z Boy was also contacted and we are waiting for them to contact Joys for a possible consideration to lessen the inconvenience.

Warranty is BS.

Would not cover broken stitching on months old couch. Release cable broke, they wouldn't send someone out to repair it under warranty. Told me I could pick the part up at the store and fix it myself. But only if I payed a $50 delivery fee. Worthless warranty as far as I can figure.
