Deceptive and Disappointing business practices
I saw the super cute and fly “Imma Only Get Finer” crewneck on Facebook, and boom—I loved it. The statement was bold, the mint green and brown colorway was unique, and I was all in. I went to the website and saw the clear disclaimer that orders take 7 to 14 days to process, at which point I’d receive a tracking number. Well, that was NOT the case for me.
It took over a month just to receive a tracking number, and when I finally did, it was completely useless—never updated, no movement, nothing. Then, I got an email saying my package was delivered on March 25, which was the estimated arrival date AFTER the tracking number was finally issued. The problem? I didn’t actually receive it until March 28.
Now, I understand that shipping carriers can have delays. But what Lake & Prosper does control is their communication and customer service—and both were horrible from the start. If you want to manage customer expectations, you need to be honest and transparent. Instead, when I reached out after waiting an entire month, they still tried to convince me that my order had already been processed. That was a lie. I didn’t see any movement until after I had to email them to demand an update.
And here’s where it gets even shadier:
• No mailing address listed – This isn’t just inconvenient; it’s intentional. The Better Business Bureau requires a business address to file a complaint, and Lake & Prosper has made sure that you can’t hold them accountable.
• Social media comments turned off – Another red flag. They clearly know they have recurring issues and are actively hiding complaints instead of fixing them.
I even contacted the Texas Better Business Bureau to see how I could proceed without an address. At this point, I’m sharing my experience wherever I can because Lake & Prosper is going out of its way to hide how poorly they run their business.
The saddest part? The sweatshirt itself is actually cute. The quality isn’t great, but it’s cute. And if they handled their business properly, I would have shared this brand with others. But given the terrible customer experience, dishonesty, and lack of transparency, I cannot, in good conscience, recommend them to anyone.
Do yourself a favor and shop elsewhere.
