Excellent service from LampSpares. I bought two of the bottle conversion kits in Oct 2020. I had the bottles ready to go and just needed to get the kits and drill bit to drill through the glass.
Fast forward to April 2021, when I finally got around to do this. I had opened one of the packs, when they were delivered, to have a look at how it would go together. When I opened the second pack I discovered the little plastic grommet that goes in the drill hole was missing.
I contacted LampSpares and they confirmed what I needed and sent the missing part.
Really pleased with the service. It had been quite a few months but they still came through.
Ohh, and the bottles look great now. If you don't want the trailing cable, this is the place to go for a kit.

Wow, so nice to experience great customer service!! I was making a lamp out of an old tripod and wasn't 100% sure what I needed. Rang them up and spoke to a really helpful chap who talked me through exactly what I needed to do, and what I needed to buy. Will definitely use them again. Thank you

BRILLIANT CUSTOMER SERVICE
I have to compliment lampspares.co.uk on their brilliant customer service. I had brought a lamp on ebay which need rewiring and I decided to have a go myself. Lampspares website had lots of really helpful advise and videos. Working out the parts to buy was simple and I love that I could buy parts of them already fitted together to make it easier for me. They arrive quickly, well packaged and exactly as expected. I had one question about the final installation and when I contacted them they replied quickly and were very helpful. It is so nice to deal with a company that gives such good customer service. I would highly recommend them to others and I know I will be back to buy more wiring to do more lamps !!

Cheap plastic components with poor instructions
I ordered lamp holder kit 11 for 28 to 30mm holes from this company. The kit arrived in good time BUT the accompanying instructions DID NOT match the components! I screwed the bottom section of the lamp-holder into the bung to check that these components fit correctly. Guess what, it's impossible to unscrew the parts once connected! No warning in the generic, poorly written instructions that this would happen. Avoid this company and it's poor components like the plague!

Hi, Sorry to hear this. I have just checked our ticketing system but cannot find any communication from you it's a shame as if you had contacted us we would of sent a video on how to unlock the lampholder which is very straight forward.
All our components comply to the latest CE certification and BS standards including all of our kits are fully tested and tried by qualified electricians.
They also come with instructions and big writing on the front stating further information can be found on our help centre. All of our components are to be installed by a competent person as you are dealing with mains voltage as stated on the front of all of our instructions. If you cannot work something out, please get in touch we don't bit we are friendly people and will help wherever we can.
If only you spent the time contacting our technical team instead of trying to warn people that we are like the plague, then you would have a stunning working light fitting working within 10-15mins :-)
If you don't want to get in touch, please please do get in touch with a qualified electrician as I would not want you to hurt yourself as you are dealing with mains voltages that can kill!

The website is a maze though it could use a hierarchical menu and improved product categorisation and it's a little bit weird that you don't do lamp shade adapter/reducer rings..
edit: you do have shade adapters! See my point about the website..

I 'inherited' several lamps from France and wanted to be able to modify them safely for the UK. I started up with inadequate vocabulary and skills. Richard gently coached me through until I could articulate my needs. He then recommended solutions consistent with my skills and attitudes. Finally he provided excellent products at better prices than I had seen anywhere else. He even managed to add one extra item that I had previously missed. He only let me down by, unsurprisingly, not knowing anyone who could provide equivalently excellent service for clocks. This is a company that reminds me how great it feels to deal with a company that cares about their customers and their products. I'll buy again. Many thanks.

Now on my 4th bottle lamp kit during lockdown (donated bottles!) - a few niggles on the first bottle but their website helped solve them and the recipient was very pleased/impressed! A fine honest company, great product range and fair pricing...delivery was prompt all things considered. I’ll be making more lamps!
