Spent a long week end caravanning at Langdale, we had a fabulous time despite ocassional showers. We fished most of the time and had some wonderful sport with carp and bream ( 6 carp, 17 large bream ) biggest carp was 13lbs but we could see much larger fish cruising just below the surface. John and his wife couldn't have been more helpful and its a lovely site with walks around the lakes etc. We will be back again
Gorgeous rooms and brilliant staff. Spa needs to be extended to match the growing accommodation. Didn't get chance to do much in the spa because it was so busy. They also stop serving food very early in the spa deli so be prepared to go all day without eating if you have treatments booked in the afternoon. Long waits at reception. Check your bill as they do try to charge for things you haven't had or received. The food in The Stove restaurant was stunning.
Langdale Lakes is a wonderful countryside retreat! I must say I haven't personally camped or stayed with a campervan but I have heard good things; however I can say the fishing lakes are some the most beautiful I have ever fished. Well stocked, yet not 'easy' fishing... a virtually perfect fishing experience!
