Very disappointed with customer service

I had booked a week at this hotel : Langley Le Petit Prince for a skiing vacation, but following a fall I unfortunately had to cancel my stay. Despite my efforts to contact them (several phone calls and emails sent), I have received no response from them.

I understand that cancellations can be complicated to manage, but the total lack of communication is unacceptable, especially for an establishment of this category.

Responsive, human customer service is essential, especially in unexpected situations like this. I am very disappointed and would not recommend this hotel due to their total lack of follow-up.

ARE YOU WAITING FOR AN ACCIDENT TO HAPPEN??

Renovating a hotel is a big endeavor and a necessary one from time to time. But keeping guests in rooms where ENTIRE FLOORS are being stripped and redone from floor to ceiling is just dangerous, careless and unacceptable. Langley should keep amenities under construction CLOSED until entire area is RENOVATED and ready for guests. ARE YOU WAITING FOR AN ACCIDENT TO HAPPEN????

The site is very pretty. The rooms are well equipped (the ones that are finished) and once the renovation process will be completed, I'm am sure it is going to look and feel great. But, for some reason, all common areas (reception desks, restaurant and bar and some living huts near restaurant) smell like sewer. The smell is subtle, but not enough to go unnoticed every time you walk by. Right in front of hut #8 is where is smelled the worst.

We only had breakfast there but the food wasn't good. The Langley should hire a local cook rather than whoever they have in place right now. After all, French and Creole cuisine are great. Watered down coffee and no way to get an espresso or latte makes your morning feel like the smell...

The staff is nice and will try to make you feel as comfortable as they can, but you continuously feel like everything is holding by a thread. Probably because of terrible choices made by management team.

The sad part is we really wanted to like this place. The pictures on the website are fantastic. We just wanted to relax near the beach for one last night in Guadeloupe. But having our 14 year old daughter sleeping in a CONSTRUCTION SITE by herself for the night, with half the electric circuits not working and half the rooms on the same floor without door locks and no windows (just bare window holes in walls) left us wondering on management poor judgement and abilities for guest oriented decision making and on Langley's pecuniary bottomless appetite.
Langley's resorts never EVER again.

Petit Prince (Alpe D’Huez)

Petit Prince (Alpe D’Huez)
I’m half way through my €6000 holiday for 4 of us in 1 room B&B. I will start with the positive. The staff are lovely and really not their fault.
Bar VERY poorly stocked.
No Diet Drinks
No Tonic
Ran out of vodka to be told could only have a premium expensive brand.
Next night still not replenished vodka.

Then the showers every night are cold. The answer given was that everyone showering at once is a problem. However when skiing this is always going to happen. Everyone comes in at 4:30-5 and usually goes out for dinner at 7 ish. Was told they had 2 tanks of hot water and it was on its highest temperature. The tanks just run out every day at the same time.

Dinner is a set meal every night with no alternatives for children

Breakfast is mediocre.

The room (quadruple) is nice and balcony with view is nice. Ski in ski out.
If they fix the bar and hot water I would come back. Otherwise no I’ll spend my money elsewhere.

Hi Gillian,
As we understand you have been staying in our Hotel, Le Petit Prince in Alpe d'Huez and not booked a hole trip with us at Langley Travel Agency. We will therefore forward your feedback to the hotel, and let them know about the unsatisfaction you had with the showers and the drinks in the bar. We will also let them know that you liked the location of the hotel and the view from the room. Regarding the food, the restaurant is not an a la carte restaurant and therefore it is a set menu served that varies every night.

Best regards
Sofie

Poor customer service when they changed terms

Langley sold a us trip, then canceled due to lack of flights (several months ahead) and ask us to book next week on at a 20% higher rate, including "compensation" for cancelled trip.
They promise to transfer our booking fee from old booking to substitute booking but instead we get a mail encouraging us to pay the booking fee within 3 days or new trip will be cancelled.
