missing part

Bought a clamping mitre box through Amazon.ca. It arrived out of the box with a missing bolt for one of the clamps. The label was ripped so it looks like this is not a new product. When I emailed about the missing part I was only offered a partial refund. However, I can't find a bolt at Home Depot to fit so now I have the errand of trying to jerry rig this myself. I've contacted Draper Tools directly in the hopes I can purchase the part from them. I will be filing a complaint with Amazon and will definitely not buy anything from Langton Distribution.

No support for a damaged item

I ordered a book using Amazon which was delivered completely water damaged. Upon contacting the seller i was advised that they are no responsible for issues which occur during transit and i need to contact the courier without providing any details or offering any support.

30 to 45 days of delivery? Seriously?

I wanted to buy a product found on Amazon where Langron was the distributor, and they gave me 30 to 45 days of delivery. Seriously? Hey guys wake up, we are not in 19th century anymore, what are you using for shipping? Sail ships?
Well you shall wait 30 to 45 years till i will order something from you. In that amount of time you can very well manufacture the product

We will See When Order arrives

I wondered why the comment in a recently received email for partial refund it was mentioned about the Review - I did not know about this - I do now. I am still impressed with my Customer Service., and feel sad for those who have had trouble (my previous business - Customer Service - and not the sort you get in a bank/or over the counter that special problem solving sort) All I have to do now is wait for delivery. As far as I am concerned I appreciated the contact and reason only one of my items will be delivered. I hope my trust will not be disappointed, It is the only company in all my searches I have found that had what I wanted. It is not easy for a company to turn their previous bad reviews around. I hope they do if it is what they want.

Ordered Smart Trigger and Cable for Nikon. After long wait, package arrived with only the cable. Company did not accept responsibility and offered refund, but I would have to pay postage. They then offered that if I had original packaging, I could mark return to sender. Definitely were not willing in any way to entertain claim that they had shipped wrong product. I suspect a long fight for refund. Will not use them or amazon again. Amazon must realize that these distributors that are "dodgy" are trading off Amazon's name and Amazon are bypassing any responsibility.

Bait and switch

Purchased a 15 piece Wusthof SilverPoint knife set with Blackwwod Handles and Storage Block. What Langston sent was a 3 piece knife set with plastic handles. When contacted about the shipping error was told they could not guarantee that I would get what I had ordered. In order to get a refund they made me pay the return shipping charge, from USA to Great Britain. Would never do business with this company again. I can't understand why Amazon continues to let them sell on the Amazon site.

Overpriced and poor service

I bought an alarm clock from this company.
They kept in touch with me during the delivery process.
When I received the item it looked like it had been repackaged a few times and there was one battery missing.
The quality of the clock was poor for the price. It was about double what I would expect to pay for something of that quality.
The clock didn't keep time - after setting it to the correct time I would check it a few hours later and it would display a time not remotely close the the correct time. Useless as an alarm clock.
I returned the item and asked for a replacement. They, instead, refunded my money but not the cost of return post ( which represented about half the cost of the item - this May well be common practice).
I queried them about why they didn't replace it and they said it was out of stock. One to two days later they appeared to have stock again and suggested I re-purchase.
They mentioned 'customer service' a number of times during their correspondence but I found them wanting.
Given other reviews I've read about this company, I wouldn't recommend them.

Out of print book delivered in plenty of time for Christmas as promised

I'd tried to find a book for my grandson for Christmas which turned out to be out of print. Two other companies on Amazon said that they had it in stock and then several days later admitted that they didn't have it. I spoke to the owner of this company who assured me that they did have it and it arrived well within the quoted time frame. Couldn't ask for anything more.

Do not trust his company.. Amazon piggy back seller

This company is run by Edward Bowditch and someone named rich. They Are rip off merchants. They buy the item that you have ordered from other sellers on Amazon double the price and then send to you, so by the time you get the item it has already been in the post twice.
In fact the item is second hand as you are the second person to buy it.......

If you have a problem you are on your own

I bought a "stainless steel" soap dispenser. It began rusting after 6 months. I contacted the company through their website & asked what could do for me, but I received no response. There are many positive "reviews" on their website, but I could not find any way to leave a review myself. I would not buy again from a company who won't respond to questions.

Hard to find item delivered quickly

Although the website might look a bit dodgy and there's no browse functionality, this was the only UK website selling a gearbox mount for my (now rather rare) car.
I ordered the "Beck Arnley 104-1344 Transmission Mount" on 5th February 2014 and received it 11th February (3 working days).
I emailed the website to check up on the order on 9th February and had a prompt reply on the 10th February advising that my order was being despatched that day.

Very pleased with their level of service.

Incompetent service and non-existent aftersales

I ordered a book from Langton via their Amazon Marketplace store. They sent the wrong title. On pointing this out they told me this was Amazon's mistake and instructed me to return the book at my own expense. I requested an RMA label and was told this was not possible but they would reimburse postage once good returned. They wanted me to return book to third party. I refused and requested an SAE, reminding them that a) I was the customer not their employee and b) this was their mistake not mine. They then indicated that they were unable to source the book anyway! I eventually made a claim under Amazon's 123 Claim Guarantee scheme but not before they had told me this was futile and that Amazon would simply tell me to return the book with tracking. Amazon were great and issued an immediate refund. The book is still in my possession awaiting an SAE - a rare win for the consumer!

Phew!!........Item received.

My order came after about 8-9 days, so in all fairness I have to say my experience hasn't been to bad, although they didn't dispatch my item until about 4 days after receipt of order.

I hadn't actually read the shocking reviews on here until I'd made my order, which resulted in my waiting on tenterhooks for my item to arrive.

But as I say it did come, so I am relieved, although I shan't be using them again because of the time it took for them to dispatch my item, and the very bad reviews they have on here.

I do acknowledge that they allow for Paypal payments, which does add some credibility, in terms of feeling assured that if items don't turn up Paypal will deal with the issues on the customers behalf (I had a similar experience a few years ago where Paypal did just that).

All in all, I had a decent experience but going by the reviews using this company is an obvious risk you take.

Illogical Pricing & Inadequate Customer Service

First of all, he (probably a one-man operation) has one price if you buy one copy of a book, and he has a separate, significantly higher price if you purchase multiple copies of a book. (The book I wanted multiple copies of cost $1.46 if I only wanted one, but $4.03 each if I wanted more than one.) Curious about this odd practice, I inquired via his email address (also his only contact info). Two inquiries later, I received a response stating that the higher prices for multiple copies were due to him factoring in the cost of shipping. I would have accepted this explanation but for the fact that he also assesses additional shipping charges that increase as the quantity ordered increases. So he essentially tries twice to charge customers for shipping.

I pointed out this discrepancy to him and politely asked for an explanation. Once again, I had to email twice before I finally got a response that did not answer my question but instead advised me to "please place an order via the website." Needless to say, I did not, and nor should you.

Excellent Service

The item I ordered was only available in the US, Langton happened to have it in stock. Langton Info website isn't the best looking but I received the item I was after. i didn't expect to receive the item quickly as I assumed that their backend systems probably were not the best too but I was pleasantly surprised today when my item arrived just over a week after i ordered. It was this or I could have ordered from a retailer in the US which may have taken longer to deliver and cost a few quid more.

I ordered a Dorman rubber oil plug for my motorbike which works great, no leaks so I was very happy with my purchase too and am back on the road with it. I expected just one plug but got 3 in a box.

So my experience was very positive compared to the rest of the people on this forum.

I wish I'd seen this site before ordering

The item sent was UNUSABLE and there is no way of getting in contact with these people.

Emails are ignored, no phone number listed.

That's £'s down the drain

STAY AWAY FROM LANGTON INFO

We are now contacting trading standards about them

Langtoninfo is an Internet Scam Company. Stay away !!!
They are re-selling products they buy from other sites for more than double the recommenced retail price !!! Search any product via "Google Shopping" to compare the prices and you will find the same product at Langtoninfo.com site for more than double the retail price !!!
