Laptopbitz gave excellent service

Laptopbits gave excellent service. I was totally stuck trying to find a replacement keyboard for my old laptop -- the original being destroyed by coffee -- and had already been sold a totally incorrect one via someone on eBay. Glenn Howard managed to source a replacement and shipped it immediately.

Scammers

Scammers, ordered a Lenovo thinkbook II keyboard and have been waiting for 4 months. No e-mail, no communication. I got one much faster from going to a lenovo repair shop and in half the time. DO NOT BUY from this place.

If you can tolerate their weird ideas…

If you can tolerate their weird ideas on customer care they are quite good. It all goes wrong when due a refund - excuses such as 'you have been issued with a (books-only) credit note which can only be redeemed against further purchases', alleged claims of misunderstandings about the content of emails such a simple reminder for a promised refund that hasn't arrived being ignored 'as it was rude and out of order'. They really don't want to give refunds and will wriggle until threatened with the courts.
They don't seem to hold much stock as everything is on back order.
I would try elsewhere first, especially if in a hurry.

Worst Company I Have Ever Dealt With

*DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY*
I ordered a ~£100 laptop palm rest from Laptop Bits that was on a 2-3 day back order and standard delivery. I waited 31 days before contacting them to cancel my order. The company did not reply to my cancellation, and did not reply until i sent several further emails and even a support ticket through their website, only replying after i threatened legal action. (27 days after the initial cancellation) They confirmed that the order had been cancelled. I have now waited 58 days and still have not received a refund. They initially told me that it was an error by their account team, however i have still not received my money back. They have had my ~£100 for 132 days. I am now talking to Trading Standards and will be starting legal proceedings against this company. *DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY* *edit* I have proof of all emails sent between us. My "threatening" email was notice that i would be contacting my solicitor. I immediately replied to your email regarding cancellation. That reply is completely untrue. *edit* *edit2* This was my "threatening" email sent after a month of emails requesting the cancellation with no reply from you.

"Sue/Glenn

Wednesday morning I will be reporting your company to trading standards and contacting my solicitor.

I have contacted you several times regarding my order, with no response since I have informed you that I have withdrawn from the contract.

This is not a matter of terms and conditions, his is a matter of UK law that you are breaking.

If you are somehow struggling to contact me via email, my phone number is *REMOVED*.

Refunding my £94.80 is far simpler than refunding my £94.80 plus my legal fees if this is taken further."

I then received an email from you asking if this was a way of asking my order be cancelled, followed by an order cancellation confirmation from you. Three days later i sent -

"Sue,

Thank you for your response.

I have received the confirmation of cancellation, but have not yet received my refund.

Could I get an estimated date that I will be receiving my refund?"

I did not receive a reply to this until i asked again 19 days later. *edit2*

*edit3*
You sent an order cancellation confirmation 1 minute after asking me if i wanted to cancel. I assumed as you CONFIRMED that the order was cancelled, and i had asked you at least 3 times previously to cancel the order, that the order was indeed cancelled. This is the email I received on the 30th January -

"Hi Jarrad

This email is confirms that your order number 14221 has been cancelled.

Thanks again,

Stop trying to defame and discredit me. I did not "threaten" any of your employees, i threatened your company with legal action as you were breaking the law. It is not usual company policy to delete any further emails from someone that has threatened legal action, that would be silly wouldn't it?

I am begrudgingly thankful that i have finally received a refund confirmation (3 months after i notified you of my withdrawal from the contract), but having to negatively review you before you bothered to refund me is unacceptable for a business.

I'm sorry you are unhappy. You didn't cancel your order. We received a very odd threatening email from you on the 30th January and asked you to confirm if you wished to cancel your order. You did not confirm this. I have now cancelled the order and refunded the item. We are currently experiencing very long delays on supply of some parts from Toshiba, which is unfortunate and annoying, but out of our control.

The customer has added to his original review so I'll comment on that. There is no email here confirming the cancellation, if it was received by the person he threatened I suppose they may have deleted it. Perhaps a lesson learned for me - in future if I want someone to do something for me I'll remember to ask nicely!

As you say in your latest edit, you didn't confirm the cancellation, had you done the refund could have been processed at the time. To repeat, it has now been done.

Good at keeping you informed

Ordered a laptop keyboard which arrived securely packaged and quickly. Lots of emails to tell me what was happening with my order. Recommend this company to anyone wanting a new part for their laptop.
