About LaserAway

Written by the company

Data- and technology-driven since 2006, LaserAway offers laser hair removal, tattoo removal, skin care, and anti-aging services.

Founded in Rancho Mirage, California, we’ve helped thousands of clients reach their beauty goals. Celebrities come to us because we’re trusted.

We offer:

LASER HAIR REMOVAL - Among the safest and most effective lasers available, the Cynosure and Diode work magic on all skin types and tones. What’s more, the Cynosure features a unique Cryocooler that keeps you cool and comfortable during your entire session.

LASER TATTOO REMOVAL – Effective on all skin tones, the MedLite C Series and Harmony lasers remove tattoos of all colors by rapidly “exploding” ink pigments. This minimizes risk of complications.

BOTOX – FDA–approved nonsurgical Botox smooths moderate to severe frown lines by relaxing contractions of underlying facial muscles. After a single treatment, you can expect to enjoy the beautiful benefits of Botox for up to four months.

COOLSCULPTING – A gentler, nonsurgical alternative to liposuction, CoolSculpting delivers a controlled cooling effect to fat cells. This crystallizes them, and your body eventually rids itself of them. With each CoolSculpting session comes a 20% reduction in fat cells.

THERMAGE – Radiofrequency technology that tightens, firms, and lifts skin, Thermage works with your body to stimulate collagen production. The smoother, younger looking skin you’ll achieve in just one treatment can last years.

VELASHAPE – Combining bipolar radiofrequency, infrared light energy, vacuum, and mechanical massage, FDA–cleared VelaShape smooths, contours, shapes, slims, and firms in as few as four treatments. And it requires no recovery time, meaning it suits perfectly your active lifestyle.

PHOTO FACIALS – A series of gentle pulsed light treatments that improves the appearance of sun-damaged and aged skin, photo facials remove brown spots, wrinkles, and large pores and stimulate collagen production, leaving your skin radiant and youthful looking. They are also noninvasive and require no recovery time.

JUVÉDERM – The only FDA–approved hyaluronic acid dermal filler that lasts up to a year with a single treatment, Juvéderm smooths facial wrinkles and adds volume around your mouth and nose, leaving your skin looking years younger.

CLEAR + BRILLIANT – Patented, state-of-the-art laser technology that rejuvenates skin from the inside out, Clear + Brilliant leaves skin looking so radiant and youthful it glows. And all it takes is one treatment!

LASER SKIN REJUVENATION – A unique, customized procedure that uses concentrated pulsating beams of light to remove scars, irregular pigmentation, and fine lines and wrinkles, laser skin rejuvenation is so precise that even the most delicate areas may be safely treated.

I just had a consultation 10 minutes…

I just had a consultation 10 minutes ago with Kana from Laser Away. The message for the consultation said we have a full 15 minutes but the person on the other side of the virtual call was all in a hurry. She kept on asking us to text our queries when she could have clarified it on the call. All that I could hear from her was the pressure to take up the package as the sale was ending the next day. No patience to listen to what questions I had regarding the treatment and not the cost. Very disappointed and do not recommend anyone to take up their services. Not professional at all!!

Terrible Customer Service & Botox last only 1 month!

After booking the appointment, I was called to move it because they had double-booked themselves. I obliged by moving it to the end of another day. An hour before my appointment, I was called to see if I could come in immediately as someone had canceled. Again, I was obliged only to sit in reception for 30 minutes, waiting for my original appointed time. At no point was there an apology for wasting my time. Instead, I heard the two front desk ladies discussing their dating lives.

MORE IMPORTANTLY:
After only one (1) month of getting my Botox, the facial muscles returned to normal... The Botox effect on my face has never gone so quickly, as it typically lasts 4-6 months. I went to reception to tell them how disappointed I was after paying $5-600, with the effect lasting such a short period. The response I received was that it was quite normal that it doesn't last long as you get older, especially if you have a fast metabolism. And they suggested I spend more money to get a top-up. Would I trust them again... pass.

Will I be back... I think NOT!

Doesn’t work; too expensive; always late

I was so excited to get laser hair removal after I heard they were coming to Hawaii. Bad idea. First off, the Honolulu location is ALWAYS 30-45 mins running late; they tell you to arrive 15 mins early only to always always be running super behind. The front desk staff are lovely and kind. BUT, if you ever cancel or reschedule, you’ll have to wait WEEKS to get back on the schedule. Want a weekend or an evening? Forget about it.
If you sign up for their emails and try to click on their coupons or promos, it thinks you’re a brand new customer and tries to have you call to set up a new appointment. And they call like 5 times from all different numbers. You as an existing customer cannot use the promos or coupons which is SO silly and not a good business model. Remember your customers paying thousands and not treat them like a brand new customer inquiring. Worst forms.
Nurses are kind and professional but not consistent in how one works to the other. (cover different/larger or smaller areas of the laser hair removal).
I purchased a regular package and have completed my full YEAR of 8 treatments every 6 weeks. No see almost no results. After a year! They tell you each session removes 10% of hair, so by session 8, you should have 80% of hair removed. (Which in school terms is a B and not great). Not the case at all. I have to consistently shave at least 1-2x/week still. After a full year. Also, after a few sessions, I now have what seems to be burn marks on my thighs. Never had them before laser treatment. They denied that’s what it is.
I’m SO disappointed that I see barely any evidence of hair removal after a full YEAR. They do push for good positive google reviews after only a few sessions. I haven’t reviewed on Google yet as I wanted to see how a full year did. (Also don’t want them to treat me badly for speaking the truth, when I go back in in a few weeks)!
They did highly encourage me to buy the “maintenance package” which is an additional crazy amount of money for only what, three more sessions, which might not even work? I did buy it as I wasn’t happy with 8 sessions’ worth as I saw minimal to no results, but the schedule has been so packed with regular sessions, they can’t fit me in for months. So I’d better not have to reschedule.
So so disappointed. The “fuzz free” painted on the walls is a lie and a scam. I’m still hairy and have to shave. Less than before, but definitely NOT what is advertised or what I paid for. All this amazing guarantees and advertising. Hiring RNs to do the treatments. Being nationwide. Not what it’s touted to be. Purchase at your own risk. And prepare to wait in office in Honolulu.

I went in for Thermage treatment on my abdomen at the Midtown location in Ga
I did a lot of research on this FDA approved procedure and there was only one other type that came close. Based on the research, I chose Thermage. Complete transparency, it is very painful in certain areas however, it is so worth it given the results that you will see in time. I even saw some results right after the procedure and am continuing to see smoothing of my skin daily. I highly recommend 🤩

More Deep Wrinkles After Treatment

Laseraway will charge you an arm and a leg for treatments. $3k down the drain. If the treatment is done incorrectly or you’re not fully informed, there are no refunds on procedures. Laseraway customer service will send you to an office in a different state and when you travel an hour Laseraway will tell you the only option is to reschedule. Laseraway literally made my wrinkles worse and won’t refund me. They nurse told me to wait 2-3 months and my wrinkles are just gettting more definitive. The nurse told me the higher the frequency for treatment the better the results would be and Thermage the company is saying not to go high on the first treatment. I now have deep wrinkles thanks to them and no recourse or no refund. So please do not trust anything they say. They are very nice but highly disorganized, only want your money, and don’t respect the patients they treat in the long run. The local manager told me I could get a refund and tonight corporate called and this was a miscommunication as well. Katrina Valladao with Corporate at contacted me tonight and just sent me the consent on the fact I signed off before the clinician told me the incorrect information and states because I signed the consent before treatment I don’t have a right to be refunded. Feel free to call her with your questions at (323) 408-8194.

I feel scammed by this company I have…

I feel scammed by this company I have been paying for laser hair removal services for four years and thought I could trust them to honor the amount of sessions I had left. I was told I had 1 full leg and 3 bikini sessions left and called back and was told I had used them all when I hadn’t even gone in for months. I have spent so much money with this company and am truly so disappointed in how they’re handling this situation. Everyone I’ve spoken to has told me something different the customer service is poor, every time I call I’m left on hold for 20+ minutes until I call again. I’m extremely frustrated as these services are very expensive and I’m not getting my moneys worth.

No Results/Horrendous Customer Service

I have never received such poor results and poor customer service. I've done laser multiple times at a couple different places. I have light skin and very dark hair. It's always worked great. After 4 sessions I saw no results. When I called to cancel the remaining sessions they will not transfer your call to someone to help and will just tell you someone will call back in 24/48 hours. No one ever called me back - the fourth time after refusing to hang up they finally transferred me to someone I thought resolved the issue. I so far have called back 5 times and was continually told 24/48 hours with no call back. The 4th time they said they cancelled, but I was charged again a week later and the loan servicing company said they were not contacted by LaserAway. Called back a 5th time today and was told the same thing 24/48 hours. This has been the worst experience throughout. I truly believe they are a scam and I would highly recommend going anywhere else.

I have had 3 appointments (of the 10 total needed to complete my treatments). Each appointment time was changed sometime that same day. When I asked why the time was changed (showing them the text I received earlier in the day confirming my original
appointment time), they said somebody else in their system must have changed it. This makes no sense to me. Why make appointments that are confirmed the day of the procedure, only to have it be changed? This is very inconsiderate and unprofessional. I will finish my remaining appointments, but will not use their services again, and will not recommend Laser Away.

After years of taking care of my skin…

After years of taking care of my skin and visiting numerous dermatologist offices and skincare centers, I have never encountered a situation like this. I feel violated by this company's actions. They coerced me into purchasing a bundle of face treatments, but after my first Hydrafacial, my face became extremely inflamed and I broke out in acne. I have not had acne in 40 years! It has been over two months, and my face still looks horrible. Despite having paid for other face treatments, I have been turned away multiple times due to the inflammation caused by their treatment. They are responsible for this problem, yet they have done nothing to rectify it. Adding insult to injury, they refuse to provide me with a refund. I cannot express how much I regret this purchase.

DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY

DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY. All the MEN must read this review before deciding to proceed further with Laseraway for hair removal treatments. I believe it is safe to conclude that the lasers being used for hair removal at laseraway are INEFFECTIVE (atleast for men) and I am the living proof. Please read below.

Firstly, this company only does phone consultations and does not do any in-person consultations initially when you signing up. I learned that any good laser hair removal clinic would do an in-person consultation which would more effectively determine things like effectiveness of the treatment, number of sitting that might be required etc. Not having an in person consultation is a RED FLAG which I only realized very lately.

I am a South Asian, and initially was very reluctant with proceeding with the laser hair removal especially after reading about how painful it would be if one has coarse and thick hair. With just the phone consultation back in Oct 2022, after asking all the details such as my whereabouts, hair, skin color etc., the so-called sales associate (Melinda Moscato) was able to determine and conclude that my skin type and hair (fair skin with dark hair) is PERFECT and IDEAL for the laser hair removal and that 8 sessions would be good enough for me. When I have specifically insisted to assure that just the 8 sessions would be sufficient, she went on to say that 8 sessions are sufficient to attain an 80-90% result (typically 10-15% per session) for especially someone like me (considering ethnicity, skin and hair color) and then that some people might need maintenance later on. It sounded fair enough to me. She got me a package for entire upper body and I began to start with my treatment.

The first 3 to 4 treatments were good. I have seen good amount of reduction and I then I wasn’t seeing much from 4th treatment. I kept updating the status every month to the nurses where I was being treated. I decided to be positive and wait until I get towards the end of all my treatments.

I am done with my 8th session in May and a month and a half later, I see all the hair grow back. Forget about the 80-90% results I was told about initially when signing up, I am not even at a 20% now. Since I kept shaving during the treatments, I never gave a chance for the hair to grow back and was never able to assess the effectiveness of the laser. Now that I have given a couple of months after the last treatment, I see all the hair grow back.

I tried reaching out to Melinda Moscato (sales associate who got me this package) to inform the same and I never hear back from her. I have also tried contacting the corporate office, who do not have any phone number and have email only. In the email, I have clearly mentioned about my experience with laseraway. However, the associate was clearly not willing to entertain my issue and I was asked to purchase additional maintenance package. I hate the fact that they are not even acknowledging my concern meaning they do not even want to investigate into my issue by having someone take a look in person. What kind of a firm is this? Priority towards customer satisfaction at “zero”?

Please do not go by the reviews speaking just about the location and staff specifically. I was treated in Northbrook, IL and the staff is well trained and treat their guests with utmost respect and care. I would give a 10/10 for it without any second thought about it. But end of the day, a customer’s happiness lies in the end result.

I regret my decision for choosing laseraway and having spend all the money for nothing. I sincerely request people reading this to do your thorough research before you conclude to proceed forward with laseraway.

Go anywhere else but here

This review isn't about a specific location. It's the whole company's business practices. The staff are nice but everything is left to corporate for any problem and you are screwed at that point. They have a BBB rating of 1 for a reason. You've been warned. Like everyone says this is a scam company. Just go to the many other places that offer the same services. Please don't get screwed by Laser Away. They sold me on Thermage for my face and never warned me of the horrific pain. Let me tell you it was absolute torture. No exaggeration. I really tried but couldn't bare it. When I showed up for it the nurse said it's spicy? Come on not even close. I've done hair removal and clear and brilliant so I can bare pain. No truthful warning or disclosure that if they run the machine on you even a little, it's considered "rendered". They love this term since it's what allows them to profit no matter what happens. I've tried for months and I'm on the hook for $3,000 and they're only offering me to do it on another area or try again? I don't want to throw my money away so if I could I would. How can they justify keeping my money? Not even store credit. I was told Brian in Corporate would call me soon but took him a month only because I wouldn't stop calling. He never intended to call me. His job is to sit in corporate and enforce "rendered" and anything that involves keeping your money. Your experience doesn't matter. He admitted they don't warn customers about the pain that comes with Thermage and don't need to. Brian and Laser Away flat out don't care about your experience. Just stick to a policy that only benefits them no matter what you experienced. The sales girl also sent me a list of services good for me based on photo evaluation by a qualified nurse. One of them was some chemical peel but when I saw nurse in person she said it isn't right for my skin type. So I could have purchased that and wouldn't have gotten my money back. Scamming con artist company. As you can see from the reviews, there is no way to ever get your money back under any circumstance unless you sue them. Internet search shows people have and won so don't be discouraged.

First

First, I gave this place three stars because my initial interaction with them was significant, and I don't hate this place completely. Asia, Taylor, all the girls at the front desk, and the nurses are so sweet. I had NOTHING but great experiences with them. They always made me feel welcome and appreciated. Those girls are genuine, and I have nothing but great things to say about them. So, my experience was not a mistake, and I don't recommend going here.. just don't get caught up and do your research. I would still be going if the factors I will discuss never happened.

Emily at Laseraway in Oklahoma was down at Laseraway Baybrook. She told me she could give me a "great" deal for $3,300 for a cool sculpting upgrade. She said she would send the agreement forms over to me to sign. (I wasn't planning on signing them; I just said she could send the documents to me to get her off my back.) She walked back into the room a little while later and said, "So I did something weird," I opened my email, and it said, "Laseraway signed your documents." I looked at her, and she said, "Haha, but you're cool, so it's fine." I asked her if we could void it, and she said, "No, it's too late, but I know how bad you want to do it, so it's okay" (I did not want to do it). A month later, I called back after leaving a required doctor's appointment for my student pilot training; I called them asking for that same one to be refunded, and they said, "We don't do refunds, but we can see what we can do for you because It's you." Later, they called me back and said, "We can't refund you. I'm so sorry, girl." I was pissed, naturally, but at this point, I let it go, and I didn't want my hard-earned money to go to waste. Because even with Laseraway, they won’t even give you a refund if you have used the treatments they gave you.

I think I had 30 cool sculpting applications with them because of all their "deals," and I only used 9 to 11. In my mind, I hadn't even touched the cool sculpting treatments from the one they signed for me. At first, I was happy with my results. I went to get my abdomen done (this was four out of the 9 to 11 I had used), and after that, things were very off with my health as I have Crohn's disease. I got a doctor's note from my PCP saying I could not use any more cool sculpting applications. I sent this to them along with a refund request for what I HAD NOT used... I can live with paying for what I did use (because that was only fair.) Bryan from Laseraway Corporate then called me and refunded everything I used, even though that was not what I requested. He was vulgar to me. This is the WORST customer service phone call(s) I have ever experienced. While on the phone with him, knowing he was corporate, I thought there was something he could do for me regarding the signed agreement from Laseraway. He proceeds to tell me it "wouldn't be fair to us to refund that to you," "Emily did nothing wrong," and "that didn't stop you from using the treatments." This is only one of the few conversations I had with him; he also said, if I recall correctly, that my health was an "inconvenience" to refund me for. I could go on my phone calls with him, but I will not.

I also do NOT know how they got me approved for up to $7,000 in credit, considering I used to get denied credit cards not long ago... This raises many questions. Maybe because I have a fantastic credit history now. But I have never been approved for more than $2500 for credit limits.

LaserAway Customer Service by Leadership

I am providing this review for Laseraway after having a horrible experience not only with the service I got from the Carlsbad location but after being talked down to by their regional manager Mr. Brian D. ( out of respect I will leave his last name Out) First let's start with the service itself, which was a hydra facial. Let me give you some personal advice if you want to spend $250 on a hydra facial, do it with an aesthetician and not at LaserAway because their "" definition of a well researched procedure is not what you would expect from a hydra facial. There are plenty of other places where you can spend that money and get a great treatment.

According to Brian D they will only treat your T-zone because that is their well researched procedure .

When I called to express concern after I got my Hydro facial, you would expect that they would call back within 24 hours as stated in there hold messages . Not the case here I waited several days and talked to several people before one person Miss Laney actually took the time to make it right and then I got a hold of Mr. Brian D. Instead of trying to understand what had happened he talked down to me and let me know that in not so many words the fact that he took time after 7 days to listen to me that at least we are giving you $60 bucks for the $200 or so I spent. Quote the "service is already rendered and I should be happy with even the gesture.

LaserAway if you all are gonna make it right then make it right, don't talk down and demean your customer's that care to bring up concerns ( BTW everyone; hardly do I write a review )This review is not out of spite but to inform readers what u can expect if u are ever in my shoes.

Spend your money with locals readers. if you think corporations care. Yeah not so much friends.
Learned the hard way after being a loyal customer for over six years maybe longer.

Dear Brian please keep you 5000 points sometimes customers really don't care about the compensation it more about respect. Good luck sir

They started charging me without services ever performed. I had to cancel my appointment as I had to be out of the country that week and also after seeing the Thermage results of my sister. They didn’t wait for me to ever reschedule my appointment or verify that the services were performed. They just started charging my account. April Amati Sharp is who I spoke with and now does not respond to my messages. Don’t ever come here and be fooled!

Trust the negative reviews

I still have to shave once a week even after initial package and touch up package. Botched filler so my upper lip is uneven and all I got was an apology. They rotate out nurses and you never know if you're going to get a good experience or not. Its a cheap experience with an expensive price tag and they don't stand by their work. I went to this place for over a year: They are dishonest about the results you’ll get. They push for positive reviews your first few treatments. You’ll finish treatments and realize they didn’t really do anything as promised. My advice is to stay away and find a better company.
