Quite simply... AMAZING!
I run an agency with a focus on independent eCommerce brands, and no hosting company had been able to offer a service that could truly meet my needs. That's until I found Layershift.
eCommerce sites are difficult to host, because they are mission-critical and often unpredictable. Previously, I'd struggled with having to manage a costly fleet of VPSs, with hardware limits that could mean my sites would slow down or even crash - needing manual intervention - if there were to be a traffic spike. I knew there had to be a better way of hosting; one where each site was treated independently and given enough resources to scale with demand. After numerous calls with enterprise providers to try and design a bespoke autoscaling, true-cloud service, where I was always met with a "This isn't possible", a chance Google search showed me that Layershift had identified the same problem and were offering a solution in the form of Enscale.
The platform and software is first-class: it just works. Even moving sites from other providers can be automated, avoiding the headache of downloading and re-uploading large volumes of data. You can choose the exact resources each site needs in order to perform best, together with setting a limit on how far the resources can automatically scale up to cope with demand. No slow-downs, no crashes, and the servers are BY FAR the fastest I have used. Pages in WP-admin load in half a second, even on busy WooCommerce sites.
Aside from Layershift having created a solution that actually has agency owners and eCommerce stores in mind, their support team provides the best service I have ever used from any service provider (of which I have dealt with hundreds in recent years). They listen to your detailed questions, respond with even more detailed replies, and they will not stop until they have truly fixed the problem. Whereas other companies fob you off and tell you to speak to someone else, Layershift recognises that every issue impacts on yours and your clients' businesses and needs fully resolving, not just a textbook reply or vague promise.
Their technical knowledge is outstanding, and surpasses that of the support team of any hosting company I have dealt with. As a developer, when you speak to your hosting company, it's because you *really* need help, and it's so refreshing to be able to always speak to someone who understands the problem straight away, solves it quickly, and then provides detailed steps and screenshots showing you what they have done.
A big thank you to Tim, Head of Sales, who is always available to talk things through and provide great advice and customer care. Raul, the support manager, should also be commended for providing an excellent service - always taking the time to follow up and make sure every problem has truly been resolved. Everyone I've worked with from the support team has also been dedicated, efficient and highly knowledgeable too.
In short, Layershift are the gold standard of hosting companies and technology providers - they're the Worcestor Bosch of the internet world, and I wish they ran everything!
