Caprice is a mid-range 'Comfort' boat in the LeBoat fleet. We were a bit concerned about a lack of thrusters with a 40ft cruiser, but she was easy to handle and we didn't have too much trouble mooring or entering locks. It was a very hot week and, obviously, was very warm inside. We chose to use the front cabin to sleep in rather than the main double bedroom, just for the extra airiness and the fact you could smell the toilets in the double room. The boat sleeps 6, which might be a bit cosy (the third 'bedroom' is conversion of the sitting area), but would suit 4 well. There was a lot of equipment and an extensive inventory, although as the week went on we found one or two items missing (reported on our return). There is a ladder up to the top deck, which is different to the usual steps, but didn't prove much of an issue for us. Overall a good value boat if you don't want to pay the extra for a Premier cruiser.

There was quite a bit external damage to the boat when we picked it up. The caprice is not really a beginners boat. You do need some boat skills otherwise I can see why the boat has so much damage. Suggest you use the marina facilities for showering as the gauge for the water didn't work and you may be caught short with no water in the holding tanks. The Marina at Gent is very basic, with the shower facilities along side the road. The best marina was the one a little lout of town in Brugge. Brand new shower bathroom facilities. It is about 20-30 min walk into town The first night was a free marina at ootenburg. walk into town about 20 mins and there is a supermarket and a pub

Hi Erin,
Thank you for taking the time to share more detail about your experience.
We appreciate your comments regarding the condition of the boat on arrival. Our teams do carry out checks between each departure, and any existing marks are usually documented so that guests aren’t held responsible. F
eedback like yours is helpful in highlighting how this is perceived on handover.
You also raise a good point about handling the Caprice. As with all our boats, a full briefing is provided before departure, but previous boating experience can certainly make things feel more comfortable, particularly on larger models.
With regard to the marina facilities, these are managed locally and can vary quite a bit from one location to another. It’s useful for future travellers to hear your comparison between Ghent, Brugge and Ootenburg, as well as the information about access to nearby towns and amenities.
We do appreciate you sharing these insights, and we hope you were still able to enjoy aspects of your time cruising overall.
Kind regards,

It was a quality boat but past its useful life. Roof leaked in bedrooms and living area when it rained 3 days! Some gauges didn't work. Engine was still strong!

Dear Susan,
Thanks for your honest feedback. We’re really glad to hear the engine still impressed, but we’re genuinely sorry about the leaks and the faulty gauges—that’s clearly frustrating and not what you should expect.
We’ve shared your comments with our team so these issues can be properly check
ed and fixed.
We hope we can welcome you again and show you a much better experience next time.

The only thing I could recommend regarding the Caprice, is that screens could be on the windows to prevent mosquitos from entering cabin. Everything else was in good shape and clean on arrival. The space was nice for 4 adults, having two heads was great.

Great boat for us. We have been 3 persons and had enough space. The size was perfect for us. Only something to get rid of the humidity was missing, especially in the bedrooms.

See previous section Boat suffered a lot of moisture probably due to weather and time of year. While showing a bit of its age the boat performed reliably and well. Facilities within it were good. All area`s of the boat were clean and tidy with the kitchen worth a special mention.

Loved the layout of the boat. There were a few minor issues with the boat but they were quickly dealt with.

Boat was great. Only knock was it didn’t have plugs throughout and switches weren't labeled. We had a few things to figure out.
