Years after years, parking is still crap. Too much waste of time. Have visited so many theme parks they prioritise children but was disappointed by staff’s lack of empathy.

Awful place
Awful place. Queues for every ride ( even the baby ones ) 45 mins +. Even a queue to exit the car park as the barriers were broken and the company decided they would employ 1 person to check everyone's app on exit whilst cars merged into 1 lane - ridiculous. Only place there wasn't a queue was to enter this awful place - Instead of a queue they welcome you in via a chap who has zero communication skills and decides to search your bag to see what flavour sandwichea you have. I honestly can't describe in a fit for publishing words how awful this place is. Please do not visit z do not spend your hard earned income on this rabble. The staff are all utterly demotivated which shows in the 10 mins + it takes to changeover a ride..... awful staff, awful, theme park....keep clear and go elsewhere.
We wait longer in queue there no member…
We wait longer in queue there no member staffs . Long queue and only 1 staff they mange to queue and doing other things. Waste of my family Time very bad experience never come again. Full day only 2 rides
If I could give 0 starts I would but…
If I could give 0 stars I would but it’s not an option. Arrival was awful queuing for an hour just to get on site. Once parked another mass unorganised queue before a pointless bag search ( either do it properly or don’t bother). Then once in ……queue’s as far as the eye can see, over an hour queue to spend 60 seconds going up & down. Value is awful, food prices are criminal. Rides take much longer than needed to start because of the very bad fast pass system (spend the extra on a member of staff per ride to sort this properly or don’t bother)
Lego has always held a place in my heart, after a day here I hate it…..
HOWEVER…….if you are looking for a place to go to loose at lot of money, and waste time standing around in queues, then this is the place to go!!
Oh and also the water park closed on the hottest day of the year in half term…… well done 👍🏼
For lovers of queuing
If you love queuing - you’re going to have the time of your life.
Queuing from the beginning to the end:
Parking, every little ride (even baby rides have 30 min queues), ice cream ( we queued for 30 min to be told that they don’t have the ice cream we ordered 30 min ago anymore - and whether something else was ok - well who is going to say no to whatever after waiting for 30 min?), leaving. We queued for 50 min to leave the parking.
I don’t understand why some people return to this place.
Avoid
Avoid. Such a shame. Used to go there years ago and the whole family always enjoyed. Gone so far down hill. Whole experience was bad. Feels old and outrageous queues (caused partly by the fast track system) so you need to pay for the exorbitant fast track to have any chance of getting on a decent amount of rides. Food massively overpriced and so bad. Theme park food never the best I know but food served cold with overflowing bins while staff stand around chatting.
And so many rides now that little ones can’t go on? What is that all about. Do they know their target audience??
And the harbour show is a shadow of it former self. Real let down.
Such a shame. So clearly all about money these days.
Why are we paying £12 for parking when…
Why are we paying £12 for parking when we already paid for park entrance that cost £1 away from £40?! The queues were way too long, the staff are so slow and getting people off the rides and onto the rides causing delays. It was mad packed! Couldn’t enjoy let alone move.
What’s gone wrong?????
Not the same park we visited 20years ago, to say it’s gone down hill is an understatement. Lots of faded and tired statues which is disappointing as it’s the 30th anniversary. Food and drink prices diabolical (take you own if can find somewhere to sit) under staffed and most drinks machines won’t read your card (no cash options) queued for food for 20 minutes and then told the person serving had gone on her break with no one to replace her. Queues for most rides 45minutes plus providing it doesn’t break down. Overall not a good experience and then robbed another £12 to sit in a queue to get out the car park. Needs a total revamp and few more willing staff. Won’t be coming again!!!!
Poor Value
Echo most of the comments by other reviewers.
The park is indeed looking extremely tired now and the waiting times for the rides essentially limited us to a mere 3 rides in our 6 hour visit.
Maybe it is just me, but it seems the only way to complete the rides in a days visit is to purchase the fast pass for an additional cost.
Our child is autistic and simply could not spend such a long time waiting in a queuing system, often becoming agitated after 30 minutes of queuing before giving up and walking out of the queue, looking for an alternative ride only to repeat the same cycle.
Very disappointed and won’t give any more money again for such little in return.
Safety concern
Apart from extortionate pricing and too many visitors let in the day was ruined by three things in particular: first and most important the dangerous mini drivers ride - young children allowed to drive on their own, no proper safety instruction, no checking of seat belts (the kids had to fix their own) some cars drive headlong into each other, how the kids were not injured is a miracle; incredibly poor catering in the pizza and pasta cafe - how the almost inedible pasta on offer could be described as bolognaise is a wonder; an amateur ninja show which the only people clapping were Legoland staff; finally, we thought there might be some quality a ‘Ben and Jerry’s’ outlet but of course run by the incompetent Park’s managent - after half an hour wait we had to ask why the wait and only then were told ‘the systems are down’ - a lot of visitors very upset, I asked for my money back that ‘wasn’t possible’ a manager was called but after another half hour we left. Em route we reported this, particular the safety concern to ‘Guest Services’ and he said I would have to fill out a form…Remember this is the same company which runs Alton Towers where there was loss of life. Disgraceful!
Complete rip off
Complete rip off. Queues of 40 mins for even basic kids rides. No point getting a fast track pass as everyone has done the same thing so you’ll wait just as long just in a different queue. Stay well away. I wish I could give it minus stars.
Great experience although needs a few changes
Great staff all around hotel & park. Yes staying is pricey but worth it for the whole experience, we stayed only 1 night for our grandsons 6th birthday, booked 2 rooms which included our tickets for 1 day park. ( we knew this as Wednesday park was closed) meant grandson got to enjoy the playroom & his room facilities on day of arrival.
1 room was ready at 1pm & when we went to drop our bags in it the 4 cleaners were having a break inside it, telling us we must have the wrong room!
We ate in the buffet restaurant which was over priced in my opinion. Food was barely warm, although there was a good choice we didnt eat much as nothing was hot. Drinks are not included & we had booked a table for 5.15 but were kept waiting until almost 5.45 in a queue to be seated. Personally I wouldn't use the buffet again non us 5 people enjoyed it.
Breakfast was much the same but as included in cost can make do with choices. Do think for costs that cappuccino/latte etc by machine should be included. Very penny pinching to charge extra for them.
Pre booked a mobility scooter which was well worth the cost & the receptionist arranged for it too be brought down to reception for us. Great service.
Lots of food /drink outlets were closed in the park which was not expected, couldn't find a water fountain that worked to refill bottles with either.
We bought the digital photo pass....DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON BUYING IT!! We downloaded it before arrival it worked but as soon as we tried to add any pictures they wouldn't load. Customer service told us to take photos /scan them at the rides and they will all ge there once leave park. After left park did this and it is asking for payment off photos. Legoland have replied to an email.but as it is outsourced not there system it has been passed on to the company that is paid for the service. I await for their reply.
Legoland drop.is expensive! My grandson spent all his birthday money over £200 & got no discounts no free gifts. Would be great to offer a discount for people staying in hotel , poor form that it would have vost less to buy in a shop off site.
Overall we had a great time & would go back, definitely before holiday season & gets crazy busy. No ride was longer than 10 min wait.
Extremely disappointing
Extremely disappointing – poor operations and wasted day!!! We travelled over 4 hours from Plymouth to visit LEGOLAND Windsor and left incredibly disappointed. From the moment we arrived, queue times were excessive across almost every ride, largely due to poor operations and lack of staff rather than just demand.
We paid extra for Fast Track passes to try and salvage the day, but these were essentially pointless—still facing 20–30 minute waits, which is not acceptable, especially with young children. One ride even broke down after we’d waited and used our Fast Track, and we were told to rejoin the queue with no real help from staff.
Customer service was equally frustrating—staff were unhelpful, lacked empathy, and simply directed us elsewhere rather than resolving issues. After all this, we were still charged £12 for parking despite raising our complaints. Overall, we spent over £350 for what turned out to be the worst theme park experience we’ve had. It felt disorganised, understaffed, and poorly managed throughout. Sadly, this was a complete waste of a day and very upsetting for our children.
Money grabbers
I've already booked for three and got a merlin card included with price. I've just called to add a 5yr old grandson and they charged me 15.00 for his breakfast. No merlin pass. Just money grabbers, they could have easilywaived the charge
Visit.. dont stay!
I'm sure if children wrote reviews of this place they'd all be amazing.... and to be fair its ok... BUT as an adult you just feel like you are being scammed at every opportunity and let's be honest its not a cheap place to visit to start... we paid over £650 for ONE nights stay (2 adults 2 children) so that's park access at around £130ish so £520 for a 'themed room' with breakfast included, and whilst we are at it as you are shown to your breakfast table and advised 'coffee is available in the corner' you aren't actually told that as this is a costa machine you have to pay extra for your morning cup. £520 for a night and they cant even budget for a machine coffee per guest?!
The food is adequate but not amazing and there were items missing that were advertised (granola for one) but if you like a full English you'll be a happy bunny - so long as you aren't partial to proper juice - the orange juice is definitely watered down to go further.
All bookings have the promise of a 'gift per child' in the room and again for the small ransom paid you'd imagine this would be something relatively exciting but transpires as an animal crossing Duplo Lego pack I'm sure I've seen given away with happy meals - very disappointing and completely disregarded by the kids.
The staff are a very mixed bag...some absolutely lovely and helpful, some very 'new/not sure what they are doing' and some that are clearly just there to earn a wage and are just downright un-personable verging on rude.
We only ate at the skyline bar (Saturday evening and Sunday lunch) and the food (as you'd probably expect from a generic entertainments company) is expensive but not too bad. The 'Lego fries' however should be buried somewhere deep and dark and never served to anyone again. They are truly horrific (unless you yearn for stale tasting cardboard-esque potato waffles) they are certainly not 'fries' of any description and when even the kids leave them it should be a sign to think again. Ordering in the bar is an issue if your contactless card doesn't work (as mine proved twice during the stay) the guy behind the bar was very friendly but admitted even he hated the tablet systems because when contactless didn't work you just couldn't pay - we had to fetch a different card to order twice.
The biggest issue we had over the weekend was with communication and wait times largely affected by what felt like everything breaking down or stopping working and no-one having a clue how long until systems would be resumed.
On Saturday we waited 40 minutes for Ninjago to get 10 minutes from the front and be told that it had broken down and no one knew when it would be working again.
On Sunday, all early access hotel guests arrived at the Sky Lion. Guests stood for maybe 15 minutes before a Chinese whisper floated down the line that the 'ride was broken' and no one knew when it would be unbroken (or indeed what was actually wrong with it) so by around 9.50am the early access gift we'd received was as useful and as well thought of as the Duplo Lego pack. As we tracked the queue times all morning the Sky Lion hardly dipped from 50 minutes so despite feeling already financially shafted we opted to pay for fast track passes - another £40 (for ONE ride) and an allocated time slot of 1.30pm. We duly arrived at 1.20pm to a ridiculously long fast track /RAP queue and a general noticeboard telling us that the non FastTrack waiting time was 40 minutes. Given that we'd spent 2 days waiting patiently in line for every ride we went on and being stopped like unruly cattle whenever any other guest meandered into the illustrious fast track queue we assumed that being so far back in a fast track queue would not be an issue and that we'd be through in no time but alas it seems that the same rules don't seem to apply to this particular ride?! Despite having an allocated time and despite paying more than the cost again of one person accessing the whole park only a small handful of our queue were shepherded on per ride with the majority of non fast track guests allocated to ride so we stood in the fast track queue for 38 minutes, TWO minutes less than the actual advertised waiting time - if that doesn't feel like daylight robbery I don't know what would.
There were other issues on various and maybe we are just getting old and grumpy but I'm sure I've never been to a theme park that seems to have so many issues.
The final shafting came from the Lego shop on exit - how it can be MORE expensive to buy Lego from what seems to be its home than anywhere else is totally beyond me. There is no goodwill to guests (Unless you have an annual pass or insider card apparently). Overall the kids loved but they have short memories and no definitive judgement of 'value for money' My unsolicited advice to any potential patrons would be go to the park, pay the entry fee but don't stay at the hotel.
Charged Extra for Something That Was Supposed to Be Included
I’m extremely disappointed with my experience and feel completely misled by this offer.
I booked a mini break during a promotion which clearly stated that an “Essential Merlin Annual Pass is provided for each person listed on the booking.” Based on this, I expected that every member of my booking — including my two-year-old — would receive a pass.
However, I’ve now been told that my child will not be issued a pass. While he may not need one for entry into Legoland itself, he does require one for other Merlin attractions, which is exactly what this offer seemed to include. Despite this, I’m now being asked to pay £44 for a pass that should have already been provided.
What’s especially frustrating is that nowhere in the terms and conditions of the offer does it state that children under two are excluded from receiving a pass. If that’s the policy, it should have been made explicitly clear at the time of booking.
This feels misleading and unfair. Customers should not have to argue or pay extra for something that was clearly advertised as included. Very poor communication and disappointing customer service.
I bought a Legoland voucher for four…
I bought a Legoland voucher for four people and accidentally booked the wrong day. I contacted both Legoland and Virgin Experience, but each kept telling me it was the other’s responsibility. In the end, I lost £116 and neither company made any effort to help. Needless to say, I won’t be spending any more money with Virgin Experience.
Disappointing birthday visit
We visited for my daughter’s 9th birthday and unfortunately it was a very disappointing experience compared to our previous visits
We had been told to visit Guest Services to get a birthday badge and have her name and age added to the birthday boards around the park. We did this as soon as we arrived, but unfortunately her name was never added. For a child on their birthday, those little touches really matter, so it was disappointing that this was missed.
The queues were excessively long, and the queue time boards were often wildly inaccurate, which made planning the day difficult.
Another big issue was the condition of the facilities. We used several different bathrooms around the park and, honestly, the hygiene was quite poor. It felt like the general upkeep of the park has deteriorated since our previous visits.
The staff also seemed less upbeat and appeared disengaged than we’ve experienced before. One interaction in particular stood out, the staff member running Hydra’s Challenge was very abrupt with my daughter when she asked a simple question, and it actually made her cry. On what should have been a special birthday visit, that was really upsetting.
The £12 parking fee also feels excessive, especially given the already high cost of tickets and everything inside the park. It increasingly feels like there are extra charges everywhere you turn.
Finally, the fast track system is frustrating. Watching children who have paid for additional passes skip the queue while others wait for very long periods doesn’t feel great, particularly from a child’s perspective. It’s hard to explain to kids why some get to go straight on while they have to wait so long.
It’s a shame to write this because we’ve genuinely had magical visits here before, and that’s why we came back to celebrate a birthday. Unfortunately, this time the experience didn’t live up to expectations.
Woodland Village SCAM, no day tickets included
I'm being slightly heavy handed in this title however I do not want others to be in the same situation. Legoland are selling the woodland village rooms with and without day tickets. Now this is not clear at all on the booking nor is it made clear afterwards in any email updates. By chance we checked this before arriving and have been passed around 3 different departs in an attempt to make a complaint. It appears that they won't even let me complain to help improve their own system. Because of this I do feel as if this is a scam. It is neither honest or a mistake which only leaves an intentional means of tricking people into booking so that they can then squeeze you for more money later. Please check the booking and don't trust them to be honest.
NOT VIKING SPLASH..........................................................................................
Great day.....
buuuut 1 of the rides was shut - the viking splash - my kids were sooo upset (TBH I was too), ruined the whole day
PLEASE RE-OPEN, dont demolish it like it said in the news
Absolutely amazing
Absolutely amazing. Had a lovely trip with my 7 year old. The room was amazing and clean very spacious. A mini gift left in the room. Breakfast was great. The buffet was a little overpriced but that’s to be expected in a theme park. Lovely day had.
