Nigel (the driver) was great. Had a nice chat with him. Had a nice trick that actually worked calming my Malinois during the trip. He was calm throughout the trip. And was great I could sit next to my dog. Will use again.

Brilliant service. From start to finish, you are guided through the process. The team does this daily and understands what is needed to get you and your pet(s) safely across the border at either end. The most important thing is that you listen to their advice and allow them to help you. I would certainly be using Le Pet Express on future trips into Europe with my dog,

I had a good overall experience with the pet travel service. The team was helpful, professional, and clearly experienced in handling the process, which made everything much less stressful.

The only downside was that there were quite a lot of dogs barking during the process. However, I understand that this is something quite natural in such an environment and not really something they can fully control.

Overall, I appreciate their support and would recommend their service.

This service made bringing my dog to Europe incredibly easy. Everything is super intuitive, and I honestly didn’t have to think about anything—they took care of it all. The reminders and checklists before departure were extremely helpful and removed so much stress. The team is polite, flexible, and clearly very experienced with dogs. I felt supported the entire time and would absolutely recommend them to anyone traveling with a pet.

Great company, would recommend. It's really a vital service since there are limited options for getting into the UK with a dog. This is an affordable and easy to use solution, I found them very professional and knowledgeable and will use their service again for sure.

Absolutely fabulous experience!
I was taking my dog from France to the UK, we all know how logistically challenging that can be.
Le Pet Express made the experience seamless and stress free. From booking online and choosing the time and date and admin side of things to being collected at Calais Fréthun train station and being taken across the chanel via Le Shuttle and being dropped off at Ashford international train station. Our driver was lovely jolly gentleman that has an amazing sense of humour and is absolute professional! The mini van is nice and cozy accomodating 5 passengers and there are 6 cages for pets. You sit right across your pet the whole time so you can supervise them yourself. I'd definitely use them again if I ever have the need because for the price and the whole experience for my dog and myself it's so worth it!

Best service ever!

First time using this service and everything went smoothly, the Folkestone to Calais journey was fantastic, the driver was extremely helpful, sensing my anxiety over my paperwork, he assured me everything was in order. The Calais to Folkestone journey was also fine, my dog was much more relaxed on the way back. I found the overall service smooth, stress free and without hiccups. The checklist they provide is clear and detailed to make sure everything is in order for the crossing. Having had a nightmare trip once coming back from Calais a few years ago, it was good to have a company who gives clear instructions on the vaccination requirements both to and from France. It was also great to be able to travel with my dog, although she was caged, she stayed mostly calm as she could see me and I could give her reassurance.

I would leave a 10 star review if I could! From the moment we booked the shuttle, the complex and frankly very stressful procedure of bringing my son and his cat back from Vietnam to the UK was made so much easier with Le Pet Express's help and knowledge. Brenda even called me one evening and very kindly gave me 20 mins of her advice and time. Not just that but after almost 48 hours of travelling, my son and his cat were made very comfortable in the van driven by the extremely friendly Stephane. If you need to get a pet across the channel from France to UK, this is the way to do it - far less expensive than a private taxi, simple and clear instructions and a reliable team. I hope we never have to bring another pet across continents(!), but would use them again in a heartbeat. Simply can't recommend highly enough.

We arrived at our station quite early, but so did Stephane. He took our excess luggage, went over our paperwork well in advance, and directed us to a nearby village so we could walk our dog while we waited.
The drive and border crossing was phenomenal. It was clear Stephane maintained a great rapport with most of the staff, ensuring we were fully compliant with border procedures while also making everything as smooth and efficient as possible for everyone involved.

The service was top shelf, but Stephane brought so much more than that to the table. He was welcoming, friendly, courteous, and as it would happen - an incredibly good driver.

Cannot recommend them enough, one of the highlights of our entire journey. Above and beyond anything we could have expected.

My experience with Le Pet Express was extremely disappointing and upsetting. I was already very distressed after Air France refused to let me board with my dog, meaning I had to miss my flight to Paris. When I reached out to Le Pet Express to reschedule my ticket for later in the month, I was met with a complete lack of sensitivity or understanding.

Despite explaining my situation and how upset I was, I was only offered a ride the next day, with no effort to accommodate or even show empathy. In particular, Brenda was harsh and dismissive in her communication — something I found deeply upsetting at a moment when I really needed compassion and reassurance.

I left the interaction in tears, shocked that someone working in a pet travel service could show so little kindness toward either people or the animals they’re meant to care about. Based on this experience, I would not recommend Le Pet Express to anyone. You and your dog deserve better and there are many nice and accommodating pet taxi services.

Good things:
Reasonably priced, responsive via email and very much appreciated document checks. Our bus driver (22nd Oct 6pm) was AMAZING. Such a kind man, clearly enjoys his job, very knowledgeable and a pleasure to be around. He made what could be a stressful journey relaxing and even fun! Chatty, offering us chocolates, keeping us informed throughout (train delays, ETA’s etc). Thank you!!

Areas for improvement - communication on travel day
The reason for 4 not 5 stars..
I originally booked 4pm bus but upon being informed some customers miss this if they arrive to the airport that morning (which I did) I postponed to 6pm (paid £50 - not a problem). I ended up arriving in Calais at 2pm so emailed to see if I could take the 4pm (no reply). I was at the meeting point from 3pm with no other customers present. A man arrived at 3:30pm and said he would check if I could use the 4pm bus but disappeared and never came back. I think no one arrived for 4pm bus since I saw no one in the 2 hours I was there but you could’ve told me instead of leaving my waiting and unsure. Email went unanswered, no one picked up the phone and text messages sent to advised number could not be delivered

It was amazing experience! I used travel with dog with different company, but it is first time when I can across the board with dog at this way in the car by train . Everything CLEAN IN THE CAR , instructions from driver each step, they came at time . I recommend only this company across the board with dog UK France . They are the best ! Thanks again for safety journey!

Absolutely 💯 recommend this Service if you need to get to or from France with your pet. Brenda and her team are Absolute lifesavers with this service. We broke down in our motorhome in Germany and our recovery service
was not helpful at all in getting us home with our dogs. I found Lepet express online and booked immediately. Communication regarding any queries was excellent, timings etc spot on and the advice given by Brenda was no nonsense and to the point. A very reassuring company to deal with and I hope I never need to but would not hesitate to use again in the future and won't hesitate in making sure fellow motorhomers know of her services.

I cannot praise this business enough.

I’ve thought i’d come share my story, for someone with no experience traveling countries with a pet, that got denied at the border.

In case you didn’t know, if you are trying to enter the UK with a pet, you cannot fly into the UK with a pet unless it’s in the hold, and cost thousands of dollars. You can from France, take a ferry, or the Le Shuttle via the eurotunnel with your pet in a vehicle. Dogs are not allowed on the eurostar.

The issues I had, came when I tried to cross the border in Calais. I came from the US, and I was told by my US vet, that all was needed was an EU AHC, tapeworm, and rabies vaccine. Well, I found out pretty quickly that it is not accurate. If you enter the EU, you will need to get a UK AHC to enter the UK, so two separate documents tor your pet, or a pet passport, which they no longer offer in the UK, and are very difficult to get in France.

I’ve spent countless hours researching taking my dog on holiday to the UK. I went to multiple vet appointments in the US, and when I entered Canada and France, nobody checked my documents once. The eurotunnel border control is strict!! You will not get through if you do not have the correct paperwork.

I chose Petexpress as the option for my dog. They were very honest with me. They do multiple trips a day from France to the UK, they know all the documents you need. They were so supportive when I got denied at the border. Please listen to them!! They know what they are talking about, they do this every day. If you have any questions please email them and they will help you!!

Brenda was lovely, and very understanding. They put me in touch with a vet that could give me an emergency pet passport and set me up with recommendations for a hotel to stay in for the night, that was very dog friendly! They told me everything I needed to do and made calls for me to help sort it as soon as possible.

Barry our driver was so friendly and chatted to us the whole time on the eurotunnel, telling us facts about the journey and making all the animals on board feel as comfortable as possible.

I want traveling with my dog to be something I do in the future, and I’m so grateful to have met them, I will be using them in the future for any upcoming adventure 🤍

I really recommend this great service for pets and passengers on foot! My partner used it several times, and each time it was very easy thanks to the people running this company. It is straightforward. You get clear information on what to do. Your pet is staying with you in your eyesight in the minibus. Stress free. They even check your pet's documents for your peace of mind. They are responding fast to any queries. They have a personal and caring approach to each passenger and their pet. We are very satisfied and will be using only them in future!

Brenda was wonderful - knowledgeable, caring and attentive. She explained everything clearly and went the extra mile to keep Aris comfortable and by my side. I’ll definitely return to her in the future.

My experience with this company has been an experience of absolute absurd levels of bureaucracy unmatched even by the UK government itself - which is saying a lot. Brenda was rude and paternalistic throughout, and could not understand that because I was in the middle of a move, things had to be done in a specific order and I had no control of that - all while explaining to her that I fully understood I needed the correct paperwork, and that it was my responsibility to obtain it, not hers. Once the paperwork was ready, she then said my dog’s vaccination and microchip implantation dates had to be exactly the same on her EU passport. She is a rescue from the U.S., so of course they were not the same date. I also always carry with me her full history just in case. The UK government has no problem with this and refers to her previous paperwork as necessary if there are any issues, and the vet even underlined the part of her EU passport where it stated “date of implantation OR READING”, plain as day. I even walked back to the vet in Paris, well out of my way, to confirm with them because obviously I want a smooth crossing with zero issues. The vet confirmed they would have no problem with this at the border. When I told her what he said, she completely ignored this information, and stated robotically “We do not debate the UK and EU rules with you or your vet” Thankfully, the pet taxi service I have used previously, PetMovesAbroad, was able to take me with only a day’s notice so I was able to get into the UK on schedule (in fact, they were able to take me 3 hours earlier) and with zero problems at the border.

Great shuttle service between UK and France to travel with your pets! I’ve used their services 3 times and it is well planned, with easy instructions to follow, on time and they’re always available to help. Super reliable!

Excellent service.
Staff were contactable in advance to the date of travel and happy to answer questions and go through any of my concerns.

On the day of travel, we were collected at the meeting point in Fréthun station with everyone else traveling and taken through the tunnel to Ashford international.

The cages were a great size and the overall experience was very pleasant for both pooch and owner.

Will definitely use Le Pet Express again.
