They couldn't care less about you
I leased an electric vehicle through this company. The car developed a fault and was returned to the manufacturer a number of months ago. Lex Autolease have refused to provide a courtesy car or terminate the contract. This company are completely indifferent to their customers. I feel my rights as a consumer are not recognized.
Stay well clear of Lex Autolease
Purchased a vehicle from Lex autolease then they would NOT give me the previous service history as its not their policy to do so LOL. Even though they will give it to other parties just not me the owner, what a joke as far as I know vehicles and the work done on them does not have any gdpr rights. stay clear of this company or any vehicles relating to them..
Beware of the small print.
Beware of the small print.
If the Road Fund License fee changes during the course of the lease they will bill you for the difference.
Might seem fare but at the end of my lease I was charged the full year difference despite the fact I only retrained the car for 7 days in that year.
I questioned this and was told that it was okay as I would be refunded the difference when the car was returned.
Two months and several phone calls later I'm still awaiting the refund. If I had know this before surrendering the vehicle I would have cancelled my direct debit mandate to avoid the payment and sent them the 1/12th payment.
My new car
Our leasing broker Wessex Fleet made the whole transaction simple and a joy. Thank you for all your efforts. RAM Automotive will definitely recommend Lex Autolease
Great 4 year + Lease Experience
So, it would seem that I may be the only person to give Lex a 5* rating! I feel I owe it to give them an excellent review based on my experience. I have had the car for over 4 years now and am on an extended lease with them. Everything has been smooth sailing and I've not been charged additionally for anything, tyres, replacement windscreen, wiper blade, MOT and my extended lease (because of my very low mileage I assume or stroke of luck) is virtually nothing which was an unexpected delight. I have nothing but positive feedback for them. Everyone has been pleasant, gave me a 3 month payment holiday during Covid, never had an issue being able to speak with someone. So my credit is given where it's due. Thank you Lex for making everything easy... so far! I know how important good and bad reviews are as am an avid review checker and this experience has been 5*!
DON'T TOUCH LEX AUTOLEASE WITH A BARGE POLE!
IF YOU READ THIS - PLEASE DON'T YOU THIS COMPANY.
Our lease finished on 26th November 2022, we had duly signed the appropriate paper work and sent back expecting this to generate a collection. We were not taking out another lease with Lex and picked up our new car on that day, leaving the leased car at our dealership for collection. Our cherished number plate had been removed and Lex had confirmed that this had been done, another clue that we were not keeping the car. They actually denied ever sending out paperwork to cover this. I have spoken to at least 10 different people and one of them did actually agree with me that this paperwork is sent out, whilst everyone else categorically denied it.
When I checked my bank statement I discovered they had taken out another months lease, I rang the dealership to discover that our car had not been collected and was sitting on their forecourt dispite numerous phone calls to collect.
In January the car was still on Parks of Inverness (Jaguar/Landrover dealership) forecourt and Lex had tried to take another payment to discover we had cancelled our DD. They rang, I explained that this should have been collected, they then told me that we should MOT the car before they could collect.
We were then charged by SORN for not informing them that the car was off the road. Lex added another months lease to our account as I initially refused to organise the MOT. Eventually, I capitulated and had this done, resulting in the need for new brake pads. The bill came to £394.00 which should never had happened if they had collected on 26th November within the MOT time period. They still had not collected the car.
They then said they would collect by low loader as it was now a non-runner - I objected to this as the car had an MOT and could be collected on trade plates - they also wanted me to tax it too - again I refused as they also wanted to charge me for this.
Eventually it was agreed that it would be collected by driver. I informed the garage it was to be collected the following day to be told that the car had been collected by low loader a week beforehand. The person I had been dealing with was most embarrassed as she was totally unaware of this.
Our account is now standing at £3694.00 of outstanding lease payments. I am now working with the Ombudsman to try and sort this out as I don't feel anything that has happened has been our fault and totally the fault of Lex.
Since the Ombudsman has become involved they initially offered £30.00 for the inconvenience of the low loader and now 1/2 of the outstanding lease. I am not inclined to accept this and will fight this to the bitter end. They don't deserve to be in business and the worrying aspect is that they are an off shoot of Jaguar Landrover who I have always felt are a reputable company - we have a Jaguar and this was arranged through the Jaguar Landrover dealership.
I have written to Parks - Jaguar/Landrover dealership
Managing Director of Jaguar/ Landrover themselves
Lex Autolease - Financial Director.
To the Telegraph and Daily Mail in the hope they might run with this - so far nothing.
All the above have basically washed their hands of any wrong doing. Shame on them and I would certainly be ashamed of having anything to do with Lex Autolease especially when you read all the reviews. over 80% of customers would gave a 1 star and would have given less if they could! What is wrong with this company.

DREADFUL COMPANY AVOID
If I could give less than 1 star, I would. Avoid this company unless you wish for mental health decline. Information given by staff around sending a car back is understanding of return fees for early send back. If a final figure is given, surely this is the price you would pay. No it’s actually £300 plus more. £25 compensation for misinformation. Staff are rude and will talk over you throughout the complaint process assuring you that they know better. £25 for rude staff. Complaint compensation is based on a calculator for stress and inconvenience caused. Several numbers for lex available but suggest saving the complaint one as this will be the only number you will need to make contact with Lex over any aspect. GOOD LUCK IF YOU CHOOSE TO WASTE YOUR MONEY WITH THIS COMPANY.
Appalling company
Appalling company. Delivery date constantly slipping. Waited over 13 months now and counting with no information from them. They don't bother returning calls. Got to the point where I'm thinking - "if this is how they deal with me before i've even got new customer, how am i going to be treated once i have it?"
Do yourselves a favour, don't sign a contract with these charlatans and deal with someone who cares about customer service instead
Absolutely appalling
Absolutely appalling company to lease from. Totally disorganised and money grabbing. Customer service is atrocious.
Terrible company and Custer service
Terrible company and Custer service I have leased a brand new van which is now not working so basically I’m paying for a van so I can get the bus, I was told by lex that this is not their problem and to take it up with the manufacturer even though I got the van off lex I definitely would not recommend this company to anyone
Stay clear of this company
I deal with the company fleet of cars. I have dealt with Lex for years unfortunately.
Lex are the worst lease company i have ever dealt with. Customer service do not note things on your account so always keep every bit of correspondence you have with them. Through choice i would never use them but i unfortunately don't have that power. I do not recommend them at all. They make the simplest of things so difficult if not impossible.
AVOID AVOID AVOID!!
AVOID AVOID AVOID!!! We virtually paid off the finance but we are having big trouble selling our car ourselves as they want to invoice the prospective buyer who then pays them, which puts most people off, they also charge 2.5% on the sale price. Even the webuyanycar type companies won't touch them as they won't send them a copy of the V5 which would be easy to do but they are just making it extremely difficult - so beware. Our only other option is for them to put it in an auction with no reserve. We would never buy anything through them again and I would advise anyone to avoid them!
Would give a negative score if I could
Would give a negative score if I could.
Disputed an invoice amount with Lex. Was advised by them that whilst the invoice was in 'Dispute' they would take no action wrt credit markers and I did not need to pay it until resolved.
They applied the missed payment credit markers anyway which are now causing me financial issues.
Avoid!! - Why isn't there a zero-star option…
Why isn't there a zero-star option here? These guys deserve at least that. With everything happening in the economy today, they've marked my account as 'in default' on my credit file, so my re-mortgage is in tatters. This was all because of a miscommunication on their side. I've pointed this out to them as part of a complaint, and they've 'partly' upheld it but won't take the default off. This is this company's cold, brutal nature, and I would not recommend them to anybody. They're a liability to your finances and have the power to ruin you with impunity since the financial ombudsman doesn't have the power to do anything. Glad to see the back of you, Lex - I pray you're stopped from hurting anybody else.
£100 charge because they didnt knock on my front door to collect.
They did not knock on my door nor did they call my mobile to collect my car and are subsiquently trying to charge me £100 for it. 'Evidence' they say has been provided is a simple photo of the outside of the propery. Nobody knocked on the door nor did they call my phone. Terrible, dont trust, looking for get additional fees.
Truly awful
Truly awful - tried to report an accident and the call is routed to some 3rd country without a decent command of English and seemingly very little knowledge of cars. Total discgrace
Completely useless
Completely useless. We ordered a tesla model Y in leasing back in January and Lex Autolease gave us a delivery for the 24th of February. On the 8th of March, having not heard anything from them we called and they told us that they did not know what happened and that they will call us back within 24 hours. The same day we received a text from Tesla "we have received your order", with a delivery in June/July. Lex autolease blamed tesla, while Tesla gave us some proof that it was not their mistake. We told Lex-Autolease to offer us a solution by making a formal FCA complaint that they rejected as it was a salary sacrifice scheme and suposedly not covered by the FCA scheme. After looking at Trustpilot and reading horror stories we decided it was better not to have to deal with this unprofessional company and we cancelled the order and they were a bit obliged to honour the cancellation given their poor performance. The interesting thing is that at the end of May we received a text from Tesla telling us our car was ready: Lex Autolease had not even cancelled the order....they are appaling and rude to deal with. Better to stay away from these clowns. This is for information only and Lex Autolease does not need to contact me as I never want to deal with them again.
I am beyond disappointed with the…
I am beyond disappointed with the service I have received from LEX. LEX have failed to act upon a GDPR breach whereby they have my contact details in their database and are still contacting me 4 years after leaving a third party organisation. They have lied about deleting my personal information off their database and find it unacceptable that an organisation of this size can get something so simple, so wrong.
Avoid them!
I bought my company Tesla via Lex and they wouldn't transfer the tesla account to me and blocked me charging. Effectively then I had a car 4 weeks now that's almost impossible to take on a journey because I can't charge. I cant claim ownership via the V5 -When I called they had no interest at all and then I found out they were still sitting on the V5 and hadn't sent it off for nearly 4 weeks. Not just incompetent but didn't care either.
If you are considering using them for your fleet just remember the service you give your customers is only as good as Lex letting you down.
