Customer service is very

Customer service is very, very frustrating, pretty much 1 reply a week! Bought an electrical item in-store where the box was empty (I'm guessing due to theft) the lidl staff went into the back to get and box the item, I got home and it's a different item to what it should be, a lidl brand but not the same item, and not one that is on sale that I can see on the App.

So contacted CS who took 5 days to reply, asked me for pictures and model numbers etc, sent in, 5 days later the reply was less than satisfactory, you guessed I replied back 4 days ago, and nothing, weekend is here so he next week.

Do Lidl have just 1 or 2 customer service for the UK? Or are complaints more than the CS can handle?

I note something similar happened to a very well known YouTuber.

Safe to say, I'll be moving away from this company, I'd rather pay a few pence more per item and get good CS.

Lidl's Newgate brand noodle pot, YUK

I decided to try Lidl's Newgate brand Hoisin Duck flavour Cantonese style noodle pot. At about half the price of more premium brands I thought I'd give it a go. Just dried noodles in the pot, no sachets of flavouring or added ingredients. It was absolutely awful. I even tried to rescue it with some roasted garlic, an a litle bit ofsesame oil, oyster sauce and soy sauce. Still awful. It's not about the money, it was cheap. It's about selling something that bears no relation to what they are describing it as, or anything much at all for that matter!

A formal complaint regarding Lidl points and staff in the call centre in Scotland.Especially due to the Compensations and Markets are looking into Supermaket rewards schemes making sure that these are value for money not ripping customers off as it would appear that I've been.

Dear Lidl Customer Support Team

A complaint as Janine in the call centre wasn't very helpful as email is also connected to my account regarding points.

I've been penalties on the points system 40 points reduced to 80 points for Banana's when only valued at 78p therefore should be 39 points.

So over charged by 1 point. So for that 1 point back on to my Lidl Plus app number.

Call was recorded and sent.

Especially due to the Compensations and Markets are looking into Supermaket rewards schemes making sure that these are value for money not ripping customers off as it would appear that I've been.

Kind regards

A customer on the Lidl Plus

Blamed me for shoplifting… not sure on the date as this has been said to me on a few occasions by one of your colleagues called Paul benson - he is soo rude and arrogant he needs to stop asking personal questions and think I’m this person - the reason I know his name is a young girl called Donna helped me with his name and I’m sorry if I got the wrong date but it’s the truth.. deal with this nasty and rude person

I visited today and 25p was added to my bill for a charity donation I never agreed to. I didn't have my glasses on — couldn't see the screen properly — and before I knew it, it was charged.

It's not about the 25p. It's about the principle:

• The option is tiny, right at the end, easy to press by mistake

• I didn't choose it — it got added without clear consent

• Your money, your choice — or at least it should be

If I want to donate, I will. I'll pick who and when. Please make these options big, clear, and truly opt-in — don't catch people out when they're rushing or can't see well.

Poor management

I visited the Hamilton branch of Lidl’s yesterday evening and only one person was available to service the till and the self help till. What happened was the employee had to deal at the one till open to serve a customer with a large trolly of purchases. Hard luck on the customers who were purchasing alcohol. One aisle in particular was cluttered with open boxes containing goods that were to go on shelves but had been abandoned. One wonders if the Hamilton branch has a manager.

Same day date as purchased

I bought a quiche from the great yarmouth branch and when I got home it had the same day date on it. I contacted customer service and after 2 days they gave me a £2 voucher. Disgusting. Make sure you check the dates.

Awful Customer Service

I have been a customer for over 11 years, but due to recent negative experiences with their till operators, I shall not be returning, and will transfer my custom to Aldi. I am in the latter part of my 60s, and during the last two visits staff have been rude to me. Today, the assistant never acknowledged my presence once until she berated me for not 'thanking' her for my receipt. This was the ONLY time that she spoke to me. I am incredulous that I am supposed to THANK THEM for my custom! 'A thank you would not go amiss', she said, when handing me my receipt. I responded by pointing out that I AM THE CUSTOMER: WHERE IS MY THANKS for giving you my custom? No thanks were tendered when I handed over my money. The concept of customer service does not appear to register with some of these older workers; it wasn't a 'thing' in their day! Big deal, you handed me my receipt, which is a legal requirement!

I shop at the tunbridge wells stores 3-4 times a week & find the staff extremely helpful, friendly compared to other local branded stored, well done. Obviously the well priced products & availability also play a big part, well done Lidl.

Stop treating your staff badly.

Lidl owners letting down the hard working staff.
Since installing self service checkouts at this store the staff levels have reduced drastically. They will only let customers use a till check out if you are paying cash. The poor staff are having to deal with disgruntled customers. Who wants to use a self service till with trolley full of shopping?

If you want customers to use self service checkouts at least give the incentive of a 10% discount. This store & staff were amazing during COVID, they don’t deserve regime.

Very, very disappointed

Very, very disappointed.

Lidl must spend £millions on advertising. Recently, another tool drop of Parkside Tools.

You will see some YouTubers showing their local Lidl with tools stacked to the ceiling, so I went to my local store and yet again for the 5th time ZERO. NOTHING. NADDA.

Staff tell me they don't get the stocks. Apart from glue and a couple of other bits - NOTHING. No power tools as advertised.

I contacted Customer Services and the response I got was basically 'Thanks for getting in touch, now sod off and contact somebody who cares' giving the excuse they are a discount store???????

I contacted the CEO asking for help, and have been completely ignored.

Apart from their tools, prices are the same (if not more) than ASDA now.

Price labels are confusing.

It's a pity not to award more points but I dislike the way they place price markers above items. I expect the price to be clearly underneath each item, and I forget they do this differently. I was caught, and paid over £4 for Lurpak compared with Sainsbury's similar items for half that price.

Lidl refused to deal with broken Parkside/Grizzly jig saw and keep spamming me with AI generated absurd messages. That was my last purchase of any Parkside/Grizzly products as the warranty doesn't exist. Grizzly#2026090579009655

On purchase of a angle grinder which went faulty in a few days. On trying to get it fixed they requests that did not conform to UK consumer law saying it was part of their warranty requirements. It is recommended that you do not purchase such items in the UK as the Germans are happy to flout UK laws.

Absolutely appalling experience at this…

Absolutely appalling experience at this Lidl. The security guard was extremely rude and completely unprofessional from the moment we interacted with him.

I took a trolley with my shopping out to my car so I could put my shopping in the boot, and he told me I was not allowed to do this and that it was against store policy. I was then treated extremely disrespectfully over something that could have been handled politely and professionally.

When my partner asked for the security guard’s badge number because of the way he was behaving, the situation escalated. The security guard snatched my partner’s phone out of his hand and assaulted him. My partner has been left with visible marks on his body as a result of what happened.

What makes this even worse is that staff are claiming that my partner assaulted the security guard, despite the security guard himself saying that my partner did not assault him. From what we experienced, it was the security guard who assaulted my partner.

This behaviour is completely unacceptable. A security guard should be there to keep customers safe, not make situations worse or put their hands on customers. Someone who behaves like this should not be working in a customer-facing security role.

I would strongly advise Lidl to investigate this incident properly and review the conduct of this security guard. This experience has completely changed my view of this store, and I certainly will not be comfortable shopping there again.

Manageress rude and disrespectful

I am regular customer at your Lidl store in Church Street and Purley way for last 4 years.I normally go Church Street first, then Sainsbury’s Purley way and lastly to Lidl Purley way to do my shopping route Recently it started to happen at your Purley Way store that on my exit scanner would beep therefore security would come ask me for receipts as I never keep receipts I would show my bank transactions that I already paid for my shopping. It’s just that it started to annoy me that this was happening every week, every Monday I would have to stop and be searched! I find it very frustrating very embarrassing, I am not a thief! I don’t want to be treated this way I pay for my groceries and I haven’t done anything unlawful. Normally after searching security lets me go but I find all this experience horrible and puts me off coming back to shop there.
Today 07/09/26@ 11:15 am same thing happened again at your Purley Way store, so I asked security to call manager as I am fed up with this situation every week.
Manageress arrived sour faced, not happy I am disturbing her day . Asking me for receipts that I don’t have I showed her my bank app transactions , she said that’s not good for her she needs receipts as a proof of purchase otherwise she will confiscate all my shopping! She has no right and it’s illegal to take my goods that I paid for! That’s actually theft! She was disrespectful basically calling me liar and thief! It was very embarrassing the way she spoke to me and how she dealt with situation. Instead of apology I got blamed that’s it’s my fault for not having receipts as it’s mandatory…
When I said I won’t be coming back her response was’’ Than don’t’’ I am too busy for this and just walked away… excuse me what kind of customer service skill is this? I am manager myself in a restaurant for last 25 years I have never experienced anything like this. This person should be retrained and learn basic customer service skills how to listen, apologise and explain actions not making threats and disrespecting customers. I was puzzled do I go do I stay and wait for police to come… security told me to go so I packed all my shopping into trolley again and left.

Pinot Grigio delle Venezuela 2.25l wine box- disappointing

Usually, Lidl are praised for the quality of their wines, often being cited as better flavour and value for money than competitor brands. I tried to find a review for the pinot Grigio della Venezia 2.25l wine box but could not. I couldn’t even find the product on their website, so thinking it may be a new line I decided to try it. Hugely disappointing, dreadful sharp flavour and pretty undrinkable. Would not recommend this one .
