I am regular Lidl customer. I live in North London and usually visit Lidl in my area. I was on business trip recently and I popped in to Clapham Junction store. I was very impressed with the store. It was very busy however it was organised and tidy which surprised me as usually I had different experience. Bakery was lovely I couldn’t decide what to chose and full shelfs of products. I love Lidl weekly products offer so I had to visit this section and another surprise of organised shelfs. although store was very busy I was served quickly by nice lady on the till. it would be good if I could get such an experience in every Lidl.

I recently visited the Lidl branch at Clapham Junction, SW11 London, and I feel compelled to share my concerns regarding the appalling condition of the blue trolleys and the dismissive attitude of the store manager, when I raised this issue.
During my visits, I was shocked to find the trolleys in a visibly dirty and unhygienic state. This is frankly unacceptable for a store that should prioritise health and cleanliness, especially in a food retail environment. It is concerning to see such neglect, which undermines Lidl’s reputation.
What further exacerbated the situation was the indifference displayed by the branch manager. When I brought this matter to her attention, she seemed uninterested and offered no meaningful solution or reassurance that the issue would be addressed. This lack of professionalism not only diminishes customer confidence but also raises concerns about the store’s commitment to providing a clean and safe shopping experience.
In light of increased public health awareness, cleanliness and hygiene should be fundamental priorities for any supermarket. The condition of the trolleys poses a health risk and reflects poorly on Lidl’s brand image and standards. I hope that steps will be taken to improve this situation for the benefit of all customers.
