Lidl Ashford - Visited yesterday, I don't use very often now, not since the introduction of the Lidl app, as I don't have a mobile phone, therefore can't get the savings. Hence I do all my big shops at Aldi, who have a fantastic selection of items, toys, and others items in the middle aisle, however their food prices have gone up lately, and I have found the
meat more tender than Aldi, possibly because it is grass-fed, so I did decided to pop in yesterday. I was disappointed by the fact the children's toys were in short supply, in fact one was totally empty, shelves bar, and I was disappointed that only one manned till was open.
I received a Parking Charge Notice dated 14 May for a visit to Lidl Ashford during a weekend stay in Dover for a wedding. I was unaware that vehicle registration was required during my visit — there was no visible signage indicating this requirement. As an out-of-town visitor shopping at Lidl, I paid in cash and unfortunately do not have a receipt, but I was a genuine customer and only parked for the duration of my shop.
To add to the frustration, I received the notice over two weeks after its issue date, making it impossible to pay within the reduced £45 timeframe. This feels particularly unfair, especially as a customer who made an honest mistake.
I respectfully ask that this charge be reconsidered!

Today was absolute carnage, practically the whole carpark was fenced off, however this was not immediately obvious.
The result was vehicles entering, then having to turn & exit....very limited spaces.
Workmen everywhere, one guy in a high viz, pointing to random spaces (not delegated parking bays, tried to direct me into the loading bay!!!)
They should shut the carpark completely until work is finished OR have a strict one in one out policy, directed by parking staff.
The present situation is an accident waiting to happen.

Having shopped there for 13+ years without a parking issue, I received a Parkingeye fine for £45 for parking for 46 minutes while shopping.
LIDL TRNS NO: UK051982389307241231, 29 Aug 2023.
Parkingeye Reference 486983/509769.
As a pensioner I cannot afford the risk of getting fined for parking at Lidl Ashford, so I will have to shop elsewhere in future.
Tried phoning the Lidl help number as advised by Lidl below, but the automated message stated that Lidl does not intervene in parking cases.
