I visited the local Lidl store in my home town this morning around 08.15am, only to be met with total chaos. It seems that the Store was in the middle of an internal restructure, in which product items are moved around the store, so that they now appear in different areas.
Unfortunately, at least 40% of the internal shelves where EMPTY. I seriously thought that they may have been let down with a delivery, but when I enquired, a member of staff informed me that "No, we have the products at hand, but it is all on pallets in the Storage area, and is waiting to be placed onto the shelves, unfortunately we only have limited staff to do this, so it will take time". The cold meats section was barren, and people were queuing for fresh milk, in the area in which the milk is usually stored, only to be informed that "we cannot reach the fresh milk pallets yet"........people like myself were just vacating the store in droves.
The whole process was ridiculous, and unacceptable.
I would just like to ask two questions?
Why can you not engage staff to replenish the shelves when the supermarket is CLOSED ie Night-time hours?
And Why open the Store doors at 08.00am when 40% of the Shelves are empty?

OAP father was turned away from toilet to be humiliated by soiling himself on way home. Broken him. Shopped there since it was opened. Ive always told him to shop elsewhere because the service is dire. I'm absolutely disgusted with the manager after being plead to. Had to leave his shopping there. Taking the issue further. Shocking service.

Updated: I was contacted by a member of the senior management team about this and she kindly solved the problem for me. If you face problems with the local customer care team and you can’t get an issue solved, I would recommend taking the complaint higher. I have change my one star review to a four star due to the resolution offered to me by the far more competent and compassionate senior manager.
Original review below:
HORRIBLE customer service from the so-called customer CARE team. They are no help whatsoever and completely incompetent. I have been made to jump through hoop after hoop to get a gift card activated which THEY were supposed to do in the store when it was bought. Despite being given the location of the store, the time and day the gift card was purchased, and the unique serial number on the card, they now want me to track down the family member who bought the card for me and ask them to get in touch, no doubt so they can be dragged through the same process. Absolutely disgusting. This is done deliberately, so customers give up and they get to keep the money.
I walked into our local store this morning about 11am , there was a man walking around your store ( cromwell road grimsby nel ) with a large electric scooter doing his shopping , first of all I bumped into it with my trolley and then further up I caught my foot on it , now the security man noticed and stood there and chose to ignore the situation , the question is is this going to be the norm for people to wheel electric scooters around your stores and knocking into people and trollies ?, or was it a fact that you pay security men to stand about and not to do there jobs properly , I will think twice about entering your store again if i am confronted by an electric scooter , and a security man that just stands there and looks

It seems to be your answer to all the bad reviews that you get , it's not rocket science what you need to do with all the information I have provided for all to see , so there is no more information all I want is action , then contact me again and tell me what you have done about the situation and how you will solve it
