I love shopping at Lidl until I come to the check out. This complaint is about the cashiers in general and one cashier in particular. The speed the cashiers expect the customer to pack at is anxiety producing and so stressful and no sooner have I picked up the last of my stuff but the shopping of the next customer is on the belt in front of me forcing me to move even though I’m not ready. I do pack quickly but still I’m bullied into moving quicker.
The cashier in particular I’m complaining about is impatient, unhelpful and seems like he really resents being on the cash desk. Today, in Lidl in Montrose, I tried to log on to my Lidl app to get my £5 off and was so intimidated by the guy at the cash desk that I gave up and missed out on my £5 off. I commented that the people behind me would be annoyed at my trying to log in and he said “yeah” so I gave up.
I was so angry coming out it makes me wonder why I ever went in anyway. The guy in question was on till 4 at 4pm and think it was one of the tills that opens and closes as required. It’s common knowledge that customers get rushed through even when it’s not busy.
