VERY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!!!!!
Yet again let down by Torquay Newton Road Lidl store. Just had my full shop refunded and put back on the shelves due to the checkout person not wishing to refund potatoes that I wanted as my free app item I'd earned. All they had to do was take payment for the other vegetable item that was deducted instead. Also just realised they took back my free app chocolate bar that was also achieved by spending with lidl using the app. What a waste of time and effort going here today! I was told repeatedly by Erin that they cant refund and then take payment for the other item which I know is untrue as its been done at least a couple of times in the past. I realised afterwards that I should've paid for the cheaper vegetable item separately but it is very easily rectified by a properly trained member of staff. She then showed she didn't know by asking a young colleague called Jack who just decided to agree with her. The time taken to put this right would be a great deal lees then that to restock my shop back onto the shelves.
I'm a vulnerable person with severe heart disease and I don't need the stress of very poor customer service so I'll be going elsewhere in future if this isn't put right. Treating loyal customers badly won't make them wish to return. I know that simple matters like this can be easily resolved but the person in this instance couldn't be bothered as they were quite clearly incapable or too lazy.
Either way this was VERY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!!!!!
* It would be my suggestion that the way this store is managed in general is looked into more closely by head office. This sort of easily rectified customer encounter shouldn't have been an issue in the first instance.

Staff need training in customer service the only checkouts open are (pay by card) the girl working in this area was asked to open check out 1 and she was not happy no hello no thankyou no smile very poor service from this member of staff oh her name is daisy from now on I'll be doing my shopping at Aldi..
Very Poor Hygiene
Hi. I have to call this out , as I did with the cashier serving me and the young lady manager who came over.
The lady service on the checkout to the left of me, facing the front of the store, with a Christmas jumper on, went through 5 customers, while I was there, COUGHING into her hand. No attempt was made to sanitise her hands on each occasion, where she immediately handle foods and packets of customers !
I was so applauded by what I witnessed, I swapped over to the right of me checkout, in disgust. It was while I was being served I asked the gentleman serving me if he could call a shift manager which he promptly did. I proceeded to explain my findings to the Manager who seemed to take note, but, from what a friend of mine behind in the same isle observed, 2 people went through, same issue and NO sign of the cashier being made aware of their actions.
I don't think it needs me to point out the current NHS situation regarding Flue and Covid, of which I witnessed hundreds of people becoming infected in much the same way, as I am First Responder. How quickly people forget BASIC hygiene and put others at risk.
I sincerely hope you will take action regarding this by having a word with ALL your staff and presenting each cashier with a hand sanitiser for any such events.
The other issue is being over charged. I looked upon my online receipt when I arrived home, to find I'd been over charged 5 times. x4 on mushrooms reduced to 47p x 4 = £1.88 and x1 on butter/spread Shelf labelled @ 1.99 but charged £2.18. It may seem like a petty amount but its NOT the first time one of your stores has had to be corrected by myself while there. Due to the hygiene issue above, I just wanted to get out of the store.
Can you please rectify all of the above.

I shop in Lidl regularly and i have been to multiple stores and the advertised train christmas dessert is not available in any of them. Staff have said they have not seen them. Another said if i stand outside before 7am in the morning i MIGHT get one if they have any on delivery.
Why advertise something on tv, in store for kids to see and not stock enough of them???? Seems completely unfair to me!!!!

We have had a Lidl in Torquay for some years now and as I live only a short drive away use it as my supermarket of choice. Prices are always reasonable, their fresh produce always seems good and lasts a while. The staff in general are fairly friendly and helpful. Not much to complain about really. Occasional stock problems occur, but in general fairly reliable.
