I would like to make a formal complaint…
Very disappointed with Lidl’s customer service.
I bought some meat and later returned to the store with the receipt. The meat was completely unopened and in its original packaging. I politely asked for a refund, but the store manager refused.
I asked how I could contact Customer Care, but I was not given the contact details and was simply told to contact them myself.
I understand that Lidl may have a policy regarding food returns, but I was very disappointed with the way the situation was handled. I expected better customer service and a clearer explanation.
I have now submitted a formal complaint to Lidl Customer Care and I hope they will review the situation properly.

I had the big weekly shop to do on my own. One checkout open on a Saturday at 4.30pm. need less to say I waited a long time and packed fastly myself to save other customers the ridiculous waiting time. I then get home and unpack. My wife scans the receipt to reveal that I was charged £58 for a pair of Romaine lettuces that should be £1.15. Lidl have only offered a refund if I go directly to that store which is an hour away from home. Or I can have a coupon to only spend withthem, which runs there theft in the wounds. The response I've had from customer service is insulting. I'll now only be using Lidl as a last resort.
Falsely accused of shoplifting... no apology!
Over a week ago I was accused of shoplifting, obviously I was not. The staff member on self checkout approached me and looked into my bag on the floor, without asking, stating 'have you scanned everything!'.
Obviously when she looked in she could see there was nothing, but I offered her to have a full rummage, take out what was in there, but she declined as she knew she was wrong.
Even though her approach and execution were all wrong, she had the opportunity to pull back some remnants of professionalism, and apologise, but she did not.
I left angry and embarrassed, but above all annoyed that they could not even recognise their error, own it and apologise.
I doubt I will return to this branch, I may even boycott all Lidls.
I understand that shrinkage is an issue for supermarkets, and indeed in this day and age it is exacerbated with the cost of living, but there is a right way and wrong to approach people they suspect, to protect those who are innocent, as is my case today. And when they are wrong, then they should at least apologise.
Clearly, I assume, the manager and area manager of this store excepts terrible customer service, they allow contempt for their customers, and really should not be in retail. This is the reason why their staff act in this way, because they lack direction from the top team.
Shameful!
So I left a review for the store and Lidl asked me to email them, which I did, a week has passed and they have not even replied to advise that they are looking into this. As I said, the level of contempt from Lidl is on another level.
To ask for the customer to contact them, and then to ignore the customer, I think demonstrates my point, the management team lack in customer skills, and this filters down to the staff on the shop floor. However, I now think this is the culture of Lidl as a whole, they really do not care about their customers.
Shoeburyness store is dirty
Shoeburyness store is dirty. Baskets are also filthy. Lack of cashiers and no self service cash desk. Grapes are nice though.
Discrimination against those who can’t use smart ohones
Well, as I got to this page I saw that 70% of reviews were 1 star!
My issue is with two elements, their app and the new donation option where you are put under moral pressure to donate. We choose who we donate to without having to be asked. This option at the till is a growing trend I fear and smaller charities may suffer.
But their phone app makes shopping there much more expensive for the large section of the population who cannot, or choose not to give personal data away and pay up to 35% more. I contacted Lidl and just got the expected AI type answer, all bs. I gather a good few are no longer shopping there. If this is an indication of the future then they can shove it
Love Lidl
I do my main shop at lidl every week.
Although prices have risen lately which is the same everywhere , I still find it great value for money.
The lidl plus app is great and points are well worth saving.
Well done Derby Lidl.
Dirty baskets
Dirty baskets, they never wash their baskets. I got a picture of their dirty baskets as well.

My many visits to the Tunbridge Wells store, I'm so impressed with the range of products & amazing friendly staff!!
What made my experience great was…
What made my experience great was discovering that the Deluxe New York deli style pastrami and Emmenthal sandwich was surprisingly delicious. Seasoning and condiments perfect, very generous pile of meat, nearly New York amount. A good rye bread. I have tried similar sandwiches at Tesco and Sainsbury's and they are woefully inadequate in every way.
Lidl Pinot Grigio
Lidl...!!! What is going on with your Pinot Grigio, this is my go to in other stores, one of my favourites. But yours? Says dry on the
bottle. it is anything but, it should be in the sweet categorie, almost draws your jaws together. Please amend your labels. Last i buy in there
Another supermarket screwing the public…
Lidl Another supermarket screwing the public with the price of their melons
They have always been per item now they have changed the pricing to per kilo because they vary in size so they can make bigger profits per item
Terrible management terrible tills
Today was the last straw they have now take two cash tills out and the one that is left is going to I spoke to the manager she confirmed this today 16/09/2026 and she was so Blousey about it when I told her that I would not be shopping here again, I could not pay for my good on the cash tills so the staff member told me to pack my shopping in my bags and he would print a receipt to take to the main till but could not print off, then wanted me to take bags to the main till to scan again so I just said leave it I’m not putting all through again nearly every time I go in to this pinhoe Exeter store they have problems with there tills. Well from now on no shopping in Lidl form me I have deleted my account and the App as I did not like the attitude from the manager about the cash tills it was just so dismissive there loss some other super market will gain, I also don’t think I’m going to be the only one that stops shopping here

Disgusting
Disgusting! Selling off their parking to parkineye. Stockport store not helpful at all regarding tickets. I'm disabled and can't get round the store in the allocated time. I was charged £90 after a dispute. Never again will I ever give my money to this store. Not helpful.
Thank you anyway I ate rubbish meals for 2 weeks afterwards!
Unclean
Self-service checkout at Union Street, Plymouth, absolutely encrusted with unnameable gunk.
I refuse to buy bakery or weighing items — anything requiring direct contact with that surface — until their staff learn basic retail surface hygiene and how to use a J-cloth.
Worst customer service experience ever
Worst customer service experience ever when returning a faulty Parkside middle of the isle electrical appliance. Unbelievable amount of email exchanges as they seemed to try everything to wear you down rather than honour the guarantee. I will certainly never buy another appliance from them
5 star because usually Always fully…
5 star because usually Always fully stocked and friendly staff. Today was a bit different a few basics eg plum tinned tomatoes not on the shelf although plenty of chopped. Medium eggs not on shelf but ready to be stocked in the aisle. I want to say the staff were clearly busy great to see they were doing there best and proffessional. Credit where it's due.
I have been a Lidl customer for some…
I have been a Lidl customer for some years now, and have, over the past couple of years watched the steady decline at our Runcorn store.
What was once a enjoyable experience and value for money shopping, has now turned into a drudge, the staff look unhappy, and are rushed off their feet, trying to get any help is nigh on impossible, especially when they are stacking the shelves which is like an assault course sometimes.
Price and quality are going in opposite directions with prices for a weekly shop going up at an alarming pace, and quality "if you can actually get what you want" going down.
The new voucher system is a joke, with a points system not really worth your while using, you may get a discount voucher with your points, but the shopping has risen to an uneconomical level,so it has no benefits when you do get one.
The only plus point at the moment is the parkside brand, still affordable and decent quality for a novice DIYer,though some items are can be temperamental.
And on that note,a last point to make.
without customers you don't have a business, and there are better and cheaper competitors out there at the moment, look after your staff, your driving them into the ground for the sake of profit, again without staff you don't have a business.
No help or consideration towards a pensioner.
Spent £75 yesterday. Left a laptop tray worth £9.99. Went back today to see if they had it, couldn’t find receipt but showed my bank statement to show I had spent that amount.
Manager didn’t look to see if it had been handed in. Said I would have to contact customer services, ball ache to say the least. So bought another one £9.99 again 🤨 what happened to taking the initiative & good will towards a customer that is now shopping at Aldi. Not happy 😡
Coventry store Binley Woods.
