Shocking service at tills

Customer service was shocking! I visited your Boston branch, Lad on check out 3 25/7/25 at 17:16
Didn't say hi or even greet me. Started scanning all my shopping before I had finished putting on belt and throwing it the other side. Which normally the colleagues are really friendly and waiting til I've loaded all my shopping. Didn't even bother to ask me for my Lidl card and acted annoyed when I wanted to scan it. I asked to pay my card and looked at me again with disgust. Handed my receipt to me with again saying nothing! Don't think he really wanted to be there and isn't really suitable to be customer facing .

Great place, we love Lidl's

I have never left a review for a supermarket before and I do not know why, but on this occasion I need to, we love Lidl, as most people, when they came to the UK, they were mocked and at one point a TV show even said they were a "shop for pikey's" which really made us laugh, but now we do not.

The Lidl's at Westbridge Road, PE21 7JD Boston, Lincs, has always been great, their bakery items have NEVER failed to impress and the Jam doughnuts and belgium buns are supreme, far better than tesco or Asda, the fruit has always been great, lasted, big and tasty, but we have noticed lately that some of the fruit is not lasting, we had to throw away a number of pieces on Monday, after we purchased them on Friday afternoon, such a waste. Same with the veg, always great, but recently the quality has slipped, and there is little flavour to the potatoes, carrots and most of the salad stuff.

The middle aisle is always a mess, and trying to find anything is usually a chore and the prices, occasionally, do not correspond to the item below it, meaning, we had no idea of what the cost it.

We do love the regional changes on a weekly basis, and often try new things, some work, some do not, but that is not a fault of Lidl, we do however object to being given vouchers for free items and then there are NO free items to collect, this has now happened three times, todays was the Maltesers Bag, there was just none anywhere. Not impressed as I like those.

The staff unfortunately never seem happy, they all look grumpy and like they would rather be somewhere else, today was equally as bad with a couple of lads moaning about things as we walking past, not really appropriate, and I would never had stood for it when I was dept head in a major high street supermarket.

Over all the place is always clean, but I will say that there seems little to no cleaning of the bakery "ports" when something has sold out, then clean it, not leave it full of pastry flakes or crumbs, it does not look very hygienic.

Lastly, and I know this is an issue that a lot of people find annoying, is that you seem to close all the tills bar one, just as four trolleys appear, especially on the Thursday before Easter, the place was full of customers, yet one poor lad was on on checkout number one on his own for a while before a customer asked for more staff to assist.

So, over all we love Lidl, but the moans above are just my views, and I would like to know why the quality of the fruit and veg has gone down lately, and why at 2:30 in the afternoon, half the bakery dept is empty or nearly empty, what about those that leave work at 5, what can they buy... not a lot !

We will continue to shop at Lidl's as the place has lots of great items that we like, and the prices too, please do not follow the other supermarkets and increase your prices.

And NO I do not work for them !
