The store in Farnborough is not a good…
The store in Farnborough is not a good to store to go to, as they seem to like to trap customers and potential customers in the store.
When I went in all the exits were blocked. The gates by the tills were closed and locked. There was no other way to exit, preventing me from leaving of my own free will.
I went in hoping to find the Chocolate Truffles that were given to me as a gift. Only to be met with hostility. I approached a tiller to ask her to let me out. When I was then treated in an interrogative way, asked what was in my bag and asked to search it. I told her that it was cat litter (13kg bag to be exact). I walk to the shops as, I don't have my own car. So the use of a shopping trolley helps me a lot. she than proceeded to ask me where I got it from? Which I found rather peculiar as I don't recall lidi selling cat litter, let alone the brand Best.
What makes me angry about this is not only did I suffer with anxiety from this experience. It has also made me not want to return to this store or any other lidi. In fear that I will be trapped again and interrogated.
This is bad customer service (in regards to that store), as that has given me the impression that I (or a potential customer) is allowed to go in, but is not allowed to leave. Until they buy something, holding customers or potential customers hostage. Customer Relations 101, never restrict the customer traffic flow. As that is not only a potential customer but, that could a long time customer. This kinda of thing infringes on the rights of people.
